3-year-old Mateo rocketed to Internet fame after his mother, Linda Beltran, uploaded a YouTube video of him begging her for a cupcake for dinner.
“Linda, honey, just listen to me,” says Mateo to his mother. Beltran says her son calls her Linda when he’s “very serious,” and he wants to make sure she’s listening to him.
After viewing the video last week, Ellen Degeneres made a plea for Linda to bring Mateo on her show. Beltran and a more subdued Mateo appeared on the show yesterday.
After failing to get the obviously overwhelmed 3-year-old to behave like the witty, spontaneous kid she saw in the video, Ellen finally gives up.
“Since you flew all the way here to see me, we’re going to give you some cupcakes,” says Ellen.
The is a sad commentary on how society (and single mothers) encourages and rewards children for their bad behavior.
I wonder if Ellen will be there in 15 years to bond Mateo out of jail?

That can be a bad habit. My siblings and I had that issue. We just always heard our mom referred to by her nickname and it stuck. Now I call her Motherdear. Mama still don’t fit all the way
lilMissy has done some borderline things but I never LET her see me laugh about it. I expect a kid to try their limits but you don’t get rewarded for it.
Once we went to circus with my girl and her son. It was a Shriners circus so cash only and neither of us had any cash and told the kids we didnt have any money. LilMissy was 4 at the time gon ask me “Well why did you spend all your money?” I was able to get to ATM so we got kids some snow cones.

I think as an adult its easy to say that this type of behavior is not acceptable but hoenstly i dont see anything wrong with it. This is very common behavior for a child. I do believe his actions and mannerism while taking are mimmicking another adult. I honestly thought this video was funny no need in pulling hairs when some peoples 3 year old child cant even formulate a sentence.
