Roland Martin warns ‘Trump is going to completely destroy MLK’s legacy’

Journalist Roland Martin is sounding the alarm after President Donald Trump moved to declassify Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr‘s assassination files.

Trump signed an executive order on Thursday to declassify files on MLK Jr, Robert F. Kennedy, and former President John F. Kennedy.

“It is in the national interest to finally release all records related to these assassinations without delay,” the White House said in a statement.

MLK’s youngest daughter Bernice King released a statement on X (Twitter). She asked that Trump allow the King family to see the files on her father before they are released to the public.

Bernice King and Martin Luther King III are probably concerned about the recordings of MLK Jr. and women in motel rooms over a 5-year period.

In the 1960s the FBI, under the direction of J. Edgar Hoover, bugged motel rooms where MLK Jr. stayed.

Former President Lyndon B. Johnson gave the FBI authorization to spy on MLK Jr. and his advisers. The surveillance started in 1963 until King’s death in 1968. During the surveillance the FBI recorded King’s sexual exploits with prostitutes.

The focus of the investigation quickly shifted from King’s advisers to his romantic rendezvous with women.

Reporters who had access to the FBI’s notes learned that agents bugged a room where King stayed at the Willard Hotel in January 1964.

The microphone picked up sounds of Dr. King and at least 11 others participating in what the FBI memos describe as “an orgy” on Jan. 6, 1964.

In 1977 a court ordered the FBI’s notes, photographs, film footage and audio tapes about King sealed until 2027.

But on Thursday, Trump ordered all the files released to the public within 55 days of his executive order.

It is unclear if the released files will include King’s motel audio tapes, transcripts, and FBI notes.

However, Roland Martin is convinced that Trump is trying to destroy MLK Jr’s legacy by releasing the hotel tapes and FBI notes.

“I guarantee you when these papers are released, and you get the recordings and all the stuff from the FBI, people are going to say ‘take his name off of streets,'” Martin said.

He said parents will demand King’s name be removed from elementary schools and other institutions.

“Take his name off of elementary schools. We should not have programs honoring him. We should not have scholarship programs. He was not a moral man,” Martin continued.

Martin added: “I’m telling y’all… don’t think for a second that this executive order signed by Trump is all about getting to the truth of what happens… I’m telling y’all right now.”

Influencer and entrepreneur Tabitha Brown cautioned against joining Tina Knowles’ movement to boycott Target. Beyonce‘s mom called for a boycott after Target rolled back its DEI initiatives.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, Knowles accused the company of “bowing down” and “kissing the ring.”

In a caption of a post that showed a statement from Target, Knowles wrote, “So Yall Bowed down and kissed the ring huh? Crossing you off my list! No more Target! [sic]”

Last week, Target announced it is rolling back its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. The announcement resulted in backlash from Democrat leaders in blue states.

However, Brown warned against boycotting Target because a boycott could hurt Black-owned businesses that sell merchandise in the stores.

Brown said she’s “disheartened” by Target’s announcement to rollback DEI goals that were put in place during the Biden administration.

“It has been very hard for Black-owned businesses to hit shelves,” Brown said in an Instagram video on Saturday.

“Which is why it has been such a big deal when we do finally land inside of retail,” she added. “So it’s definitely heartbreaking to feel unsupported.”

Brown acknowledged she is in business with Target, Walmart and Amazon. “So many of us will be affected… and our sales will be hurt,” she said.

She said “it’s a process” to remove her products from Target’s shelves. “Where are we gonna put it? We have to have a place to store it,” she explained.

Brown warned that any continued boycotts would give Target an excuse to remove Black-owned products from the shelves and then place their “preferred business” on the shelves.

Brown asked her followers to think about Black-owned business owners who worked so hard to get their products placed in Target.

Katt Williams is officially canceled for his disrespectful comments about former Vice President Kamala Harris. Williams slammed Harris during his recent Heaven On Earth comedy tour stop in Los Angeles on Jan. 17.

In a viral cell phone video, the comedian said nobody wanted Harris to run for president. He also called Harris the B-word during his unfunny tirade.

“It ain’t Black men that let Kamala down. It was everybody the f*** else!” Williams said.

“Nobody voted for this b***h. Women didn’t vote for her, Indians didn’t vote for her. Jews didn’t vote for her – she married a Jew, they did not vote for her. B*****s that wanted an abortion didn’t vote for her. It was sad, sad, sad, sad. They say that Katt Williams got more votes and I wasn’t even running. They said they just wrote me in. I don’t know.”

Williams then dragged Harris for not coming out to address her supporters after she lost to Donald Trump on election night.

“I expected more of Kamala. It’s one thing to get your a*s whooped but you still got to come out, ma’am. She didn’t even show the f**k up for her own… She left her own sorority out there in the cold.” Williams added.

92% of Black women and 78% of Black men voted for Harris in the 2024 presidential elections.

Harris’ supporters were outraged by Williams’ disrespectful jokes.

One person wrote: “That’s uncalled for. How can we expect other races to treat Black women with respect when Black men like him are so f***ing disrespectful? I don’t have to ever hear from him again.”

Another person wrote: “This wasn’t funny at all… Everything ain’t a joke.”

Someone else pointed out that Harris never charged Williams during his crime spree when she was attorney general of California. “His money and ‘power’ got him off. With the help of Shawn Holley,” the person wrote.

Others suggested a boycott of the remaining shows on Williams’ comedy tour.

“Bro not funny no more, I’m sorry,” one person tweeted.

American tennis star Madison Keys beat 2-time defending Australian champion Aryna Sabalenka to win the Australian Open championship in Melbourne on Saturday.

Madison, seeded 19th in the tournament, prevented No. 1 seed Sabalenka from earning what would have been her third Australian Open trophy.

Madison, 29, accomplished a rare feat in tennis – beating both the No. 1 and No. 2 players in the world, back to back, to win her first major championship.

After Madison Keys won the first Grand Slam title of her career, online search inquiries spiked for “Madison Keys’ father.”

Some tennis fans assumed Madison’s father was NBA GOAT Julius “Dr. J” Erving, 74.

But Dr. J’s daughter is another famous mixed race tennis player named Alexandra Stevenson, 44.

Dr. J confirmed reports in 1999 that he was Alexandra’s father after the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel newspaper published a copy of her birth certificate naming him as the father.

Dr. J fathered Alexandra (pictured) with a Caucasian woman while he was married to his ex-wife, Turquoise Brown. They divorced in 2003. He then married Dorys Madden in 2008. It isn’t clear if Alexandra has ever met her famous father.

Tennis fans constantly confuse Madison Keys for Alexandra Stevenson because they look like twins.

Madison’s father Rick Keys, who is Black, is a constant presence at her tennis matches. Ironically, Rick was a star basketball player in college.

Madison’s mother Christine Keys is Caucasian. Both of Madison’s parents are attorneys.

Madison, who is from Illinois, first took interest in tennis at age 4 when she admired Serena Williams’ white tennis dress. She begged her parents for a similar tennis dress. But her father told her she would have to learn how to play tennis if she wanted that dress.

Madison’s parents sent her to the Chris Evert Tennis Academy in Boca Raton, Florida at age 9.

Madison first made headlines when she defeated Serena Williams in 2009. She reached the 2017 US Open finals and was ranked No. 7 in the world that year.

Target said that it would conclude its “three-year diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) goals” after spending $2 billion with Black-owned businesses.

Target’s Chief Community Impact and Equity Officer, Kiera Fernandez, said in a statement that the company is entering a “new chapter.”

“As a retailer that serves millions of consumers every day, we understand the importance of staying in step with the evolving external landscape, now and in the future,” the statement read.

Rev. Al Sharpton showed his displeasure with Target by holding a buy-in at Target’s competition, Costco.

Sharpton tweeted that he and 100+ members of @NationalAction held a buy-in at a Costco store in Harlem, NY “to show support for the company’s strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).”

Megyn Kelly predicts ‘political earthquake’ if Michelle Obama files for divorce

Insider Megyn Kelly predicts a “political earthquake” if former First Lady Michelle Obama files for divorce from former President Barack Obama.

Speculation is running rampant about a rumor that has been making the rounds since last year. Another insider, Meghan McCain, confirmed that “Friends” actress Jennifer Aniston is Barack Obama’s longtime mistress.

Most recently, McCain and journalist Tara Palmieri both confirmed that they’d heard the rumors that the Obamas “live separate lives”.

WENN.com

Kelly, the former “Fox and Friends” anchor and host of “The Megyn Kelly Show,” speculated on the rumors on Thursday.

“I do not know whether this is true at all,” she shared. “But if it is true, it truly would be a political earthquake in Democrat circles, nevermind America. I don’t remember a presidential divorce in modern history,” she added.

McCain, Palmieri, and Kelly are all insiders who hear the tea before we do. Usually they keep the tea within their exclusive inner circles. But when the tea does eventually leak, they let the cat out of the bag completely.

They pretend they aren’t sure if it’s true — while they gleefully report all the sordid details.

Kelly then commented on an unflattering photo that Barack Obama posted to social media a week ago to celebrate Michelle’s 61st birthday.

The photo showed Barack and Michelle reaching across a large table to fist bump.

Michelle’s purse is on the table next to her – as if she’s ready to grab it and go at any minute.

She’s wearing a black house dress and a wig with a scarf on over the wig. It’s certainly not the attire you would expect of a high society wife dining at a 4-star restaurant with her presidential husband.

“Did you see the post he put out to celebrate her birthday?” Kelly asked her guests. “He chose the least attractive photo of her that’s ever been released. I mean, this is just wrong,” Kelly said.

Kelly noted that the former first lady “can look very nice in a photograph” but that the photo her husband posted did not do her justice.

“This ain’t it. She’s got the kerchief on her head. They’re about 20 feet apart in this intimate dinner. And he looks great,” she said. “This is classic. He’s like, this is a great picture. He’s got the 1000-watt smile. She looks terrible.”

Finally, Kelly and her guests discussed what most people have been thinking — that the tea about Barack dating Jennifer Aniston was leaked by former President Joe Biden and his wife Jill.

“This is next level, just to be clear, you are suggesting that maybe there is something going on between Barack and Jennifer and the Bidens are leaking it?” Kelly asked her guest.

Kelly noted that Barack was alone when he attended former President Jimmy Carter’s memorial service in Washington, DC. Michelle also wasn’t with her husband when he attended President Donald Trump‘s swearing-in ceremony in DC last week.

Later, Barack was seen at a DC party without Michelle, who is said to be staying at her home in Hawaii.

Non-Black Jury Hears Opening Arguments in A$AP Rocky’s Felony Assault Trial

Grammy-nominated rapper A$AP Rocky rejected a plea deal before his high-profile felony assault case got underway in Los Angeles on Friday.

The 36-year-old rapper faces 2 felony counts of firing a gun at fellow rapper A$AP Relli during a street fight in Hollywood in 2021.

Rocky rejected a plea offer to serve 180 days in prison and seven years probation.

He could face a maximum of 24 years in prison if convicted on both counts.

A non-Black jury of five men and 7 women heard opening arguments in the case on Friday. The jury consists of Caucasian, Asian and Hispanic men and women.

In his opening argument, the prosecutor said surveillance video outside a Hollywood hotel leaves no doubt that Rocky fired a 9mm handgun “multiple times” at Relli.

A loaded 9mm handgun was found by police during a search of Rocky’s home after the shooting.

But in a rebuttal to the prosecutor’s opening argument, defense attorney Joe Tacopina said his client admits he pulled the trigger on the gun. He said Rocky fired “two warning shots” from a “starter gun” that he always carried for his protection.

Tacopina said Rocky fired the “prop gun” to break up a scuffle between rappers A$AP Relli and A$AP Illz – 2 former members of the A$AP Mob rap collective.

Tacopina said “Rocky fired that prop gun. He fired twice, hoping the sound would be enough to scare off Relli and protect Illz.”

The defense lawyer said evidence will show lots of people in Rocky’s inner circle knew that he carried a prop gun. The prop gun came from the set of a music video Rocky filmed with his longtime girlfriend Rihanna, the mother of his 2 sons.

A$AP Relli later told police that a bullet grazed his knuckles. But Tacopina argued the prop gun was loaded with blanks.

Tacopina accused Relli of being a “perjurer and a criminal,” and the case is about “jealousy, lies, and greed.”

“This case rises or falls on his credibility,” Tacopina said. “The videos you saw, without [Relli’s] testimony, prove absolutely nothing,” Tacopina added.

The prosecutor showed the jury several videos. One video recorded near a parking garage showed four people fighting in the street. A man wearing a dark hoodie pulls out a gun and points it at Relli.

Tacopina said that Relli was not scared because he “knew that gun wasn’t real.”

Another video captures the sounds of 2 gunshots from a block away.

The jury also heard a 911 call from a woman with an Australian accent. “There’s been a shooting,” the woman says. “We watched it. There were four men, and they were kind of fighting.”

The prosecutor showed jurors a photo of Relli’s bloody knuckles. The state said that the injuries may have come from the shooting, but that was irrelevant to the charges.

Tacopina mocked the photo of the scrapes on Relli’s knuckles. “Oh my god, how is he gonna survive that scrape on his knuckles?” the defense lawyer said in open court.

Phil Lewis/WENN

Recently, Rev. Al Sharpton complained that Rocky (real name Rakim Mayers) can’t get a fair trial because the men and women on the jury don’t look like him.

But others have noted that Rocky once said he doesn’t understand the language of poor people because he has homes in SoHo and Beverly Hills.

Detective Backs Up Jay-Z Victim’s Story After ‘Thorough Investigation’

A police detective on Tony Buzbee’s team is backing up Jay-Z’s alleged victim’s story after a thorough investigation, Allhiphop.com reports.

Tony Buzbee has hit back at Jay-Z and his attorneys’ attempts to dismiss Jane Doe’s lawsuit. Buzbee accused Jay-Z of “an unprecedented attempt to silence a victim.”

In October 2024, Buzbee filed a lawsuit on behalf of a Jane Doe against Sean Combs for alleged rape.

The Alabama woman claims she was sexually assaulted by Combs and another man at an afterparty for the MTV Video Music Awards in New York in 2000.

The lawsuit was amended in December 2024 to add Jay-Z’s name as the other man.

On November 18, 2024, Jay-Z (born Shawn Carter) filed an anonymous lawsuit against Tony Buzbee.

Jay-Z accused Buzbee of demanding an exorbitant sum of money in an extortion attempt. The rapper said he was told that the allegations would go away if he paid millions.

But Buzbee denied making an extortion attempt. He issued a statement after a judge refused Jay-Z’s multiple requests to dismiss the case.

“Carter’s celebrity status does not entitle him to special treatment by the courts,” Buzbee stated. Buzbee’s court filing included a statement by a detective who backed up Jane Doe’s claims.

According to Buzbee’s court filing, multiple attorneys, including one who is a retired police detective, conducted rigorous interviews and research to corroborate the victim’s claims.

Jay-Z’s motion to dismiss included an NBC interview with the victim who described an afterparty at a mansion that doesn’t seem to exist.

There are other discrepancies. The woman described watching the MTV Video Music Awards on a screen outside, but there was no screen outside the venue in 2000.

“We won’t speculate on whether there was an after-party,” Buzbee stated, “but her detailed description of the venue is consistent and specific to what happened that night.”

It was revealed this week that Buzbee hired 2 new attorneys to represent himself and Jane Doe.

In response to Jay-Z’s motion to sanction him, Buzbee accused Jay-Z’s legal team of using the motion as a scare tactic to evade the discovery phase.

“This is nothing more than an improper attempt to intimidate plaintiff and her counsel,” Buzbee said.
