Judge Considers Mistrial In Young Thug’s YSL RICO Case

The judge presiding over Young Thug’s YSL RICO trial could declare a mistrial after a prosecution error in court on Wednesday.

Young Thug and multiple co-defendants were arrested on gang-related charges on May 9, 2022. The rapper has been in jail since his arrest.

Judge Ural Glanville took nearly a year to seat a jury and the trial finally got underway in December 2023.

The case took on a circus atmosphere under Judge Glanville who ordered attorneys, jurors and court officers arrested. There were numerous delays that were costly to taxpayers. Judge Glanville was finally removed from the trial in July 2024.

Glanville was replaced by Superior Court Judge Paige Reese Whitaker who is now considering a mistrial.

On Wednesday, Oct. 23, a witness on the stand mentioned a name that the jury was not supposed to hear.

Judge Whitaker cancelled court on Thursday as she considers the defense’s request for a mistrial without prejudice, which means the state could try the case again at a later date.

“I personally believe we’ve seen the last day of trial in YSL,” Atlanta attorney Joshua Schiffer told FOX 5 News. “There may be no finer example of aggressive prosecution and defense in the state of Georgia,” Schiffer said.

FOX 5 reported that defense attorneys are in talks with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis for a plea deal.

A plea deal could mean Young Thug walks free (with credit for time served) or he serves less time in prison and walks free next year.

Court will resume on Monday with the judge’s decision.

Sean Combs’s children plan to launch a web reality series on YouTube on October 27.

Quincy Brown, 33, dropped a trailer titled “It’s Just A Vlog: Or Is It A Reality Show?” on his YouTube channel. The trailer features his half-sisters, D’Lila Star and Jessie James, both 17, his half brother Christian, 26, and Christian’s half-brother and half-sister Justin, 30, and Chance, 18.

The trailer doesn’t show Sean Combs’s youngest daughter, Love, 2.

In a joint statement on Tuesday, the children said that they are devastated by their father’s continued incarceration in New York. Combs, 54, was arrested on Sept. 16 and charged with sex trafficking and conspiracy to promote prostitution. Combs has pleaded not guilty. He was denied bond by two separate judges on Sept. 17.

The statement reads:

“The past month has devastated our family. Many have judged both him and us based on accusations, conspiracy theories, and false narratives that have spiraled into absurdity on social media. We stand united, supporting you every step of the way. We hold onto the truth, knowing it will prevail, and nothing will break the strength of our family. WE MISS YOU & LOVE YOU DAD.”

Combs’s children are seen living their best lives as they party, socialize with friends, and have fun in the sun.

Sources say the web series is the brainchild of Quincy, Justin and Christian. The series will show the world that they are not broke and living on borrowed time. They are still spending their father’s money as fast as they can.

They hope the web series will be picked up by a streaming network, which means big bucks for Combs’s brood.

Prison officials removed Todd Chrisley from his prison chaplain job after he made inappropriate comments to male inmates.

The former reality TV star from Georgia is serving a 12-year sentence for fraud and income tax evasion at a federal prison camp in Pensacola, Florida.

Chrisley was working as a chaplain’s assistant at the minimum security prison.

Todd was dismissed from the position after prison officials felt he was “getting too chatty with certain inmates,” his lawyer Jay Surgent told TMZ Wednesday.

Chrisley’s duties in the position included organizing religious services for Christian, Jewish and Muslim prisoners, the attorney told the outlet.

Surgent said that Chrisley had been “doing a good job” in the position, which was based out of an office near the facility’s Residential Drug Abuse Program.

Prison officials took issue with his communications with prisoners in the drug rehabilitation program, Surgent said.

When asked about the issue, a Federal Prison Camp Pensacola official told the outlet that “for privacy reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for any incarcerated individual, including their work detail assignments.”

His wife Julie Chrisley was convicted of the same charges. She was resentenced to 84 months in a Kentucky prison in September.

Surgent said Chrisley is allowed to attend religious services at the facility, and is trying to get rehired into his previous position with the chapel.

Surgent told PEOPLE that Chrisley remains “very disappointed and upset that he can no longer participate” in the chaplain program at FPC Pensacola.

The “Chrisley Knows Best” reality star is scheduled to be released from custody in September 2032, according to the prison’s website.

Jennifer Lopez’s ex-husband Ojani Noa blames Sean Combs for ruining their happy marriage.

During an appearance on Spanish language talk show “Despierta America,” Noa shared what led to the end of his short-lived marriage with Lopez from 1997 to 1998.

When asked what led to their breakup, Noa declared, “Part of that divorce was Diddy’s fault.”

“When Sony came and paid her the millions she got, there was Puffy, who was going to be one of the producers of several tracks on the first album,'” he told the outlet in Spanish. “That’s where the deception, the lies, the separation started.”

Noa said Lopez had already begun seeing Combs behind his back. He found out about their relationship while she was on the East Coast recording her album.

“I was in Los Angeles opening my restaurant and she was between Miami and New York working on the album,” he said.

“When I could, I would go to be with her. There, in that distance, in that separation, was where the deception started,” Noa said.

Noa alleged that Lopez blackballed him, and sabotaged his chance at several jobs.

“I would ask Jennifer, ‘What did I do to you so that you have taken me to court, you have accused me, you have lied, you have created false things about me and you have called several companies to throw me out and different television networks not to give me work?'”

“Why, if I have not done anything to you? Let her tell the truth, let her tell everything that happened,” he added.

Lopez dated Combs from 1999 to 2001. The green Versace silk chiffon dress she wore to the 42nd Grammy Awards ceremony nearly broke the Internet on February 23, 2000.

Combs is currently in a Brooklyn, NY jail where he is awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

LeBron James and his son, Bronny, made history on Tuesday night when they became the first father-son duo to play in an NBA game together.

But father and son will soon be heading to a different court. Two women filed a lawsuit against LeBron and Bronny for their involvement in a 2022 car accident.

According to TMZ, April Almanza Lopez and Kiara Rae McGillen filed court documents on Tuesday alleging father and son slammed into them causing injuries.

The lawsuit was filed on the same day Bronny made his historic NBA debut.

The accident happened on November 13, 2022, in Littlerock, California.

According to the court documents, obtained by TMZ, “Lopez and McGillen stated they sustained injuries that will require further medical attention. They also claimed the car they were driving was damaged and has lost value due to the wreck. They’re suing the two NBA stars for unspecified damages.”

No other information is available about whether the car accident was a hit-and-run or who was driving (LeBron or Bronny).

The plaintiffs are suing for unspecified damages, TMZ reports.

California residents have 2 years to bring a lawsuit after a car accident.

LeBron, 39, officially welcomed Bronny, 20, to the NBA with a little hazing incident before the season opener at the Crypto.com Arena in LA.

In the Nike commercial, LeBron is seen pouring Fruity Pebbles cereal through the sunroof of Bronny’s car. When Bronny comes out of the house, he opens the car door and a large amount of cereal pours out on the ground.

“Come on,” says Bronny, as LeBron pulls up in the backseat of a Maybach. “Hey, rook! You better not be late,” LeBron tells Bronny.

“Yo, are you serious?” says Bronny.

“Clean up my driveway. It’s a mess,” said LeBron.

“Yo, you’re too old for this!” Bronny yells as LeBron drives away.

“Thank god that wasn’t my car,” Bronny said about the prank after the Lakers’ 110-103 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night.

Bronny did not score in his 3 minutes of playing time. LeBron scored 16 points. The Lakers face the Phoenix Suns on Friday at home.

Former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO arrested for sex trafficking despite signed NDAs

Hollywood celebrities, moguls and CEOs are panicking over the news that former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries was arrested for sex trafficking.

The former CEO of the popular clothing brand was charged with sex trafficking and interstate prostitution, prosecutors in the Eastern District of NY said Tuesday.

Jeffries made an initial court appearance in West Palm Beach on Tuesday afternoon. After a brief hearing he was released on $10 million bond. Magistrate Judge Bruce E. Reinhart ordered Jeffries to serve home detention with GPS ankle monitoring. He can not leave his house or travel out of the state without approval.

Jeffries (left) is pictured partying in Saint-Tropez in a photo dated July 8, 2015.

His fall from grace began when federal agents investigated a BBC News report that said Jeffries exploited men at sex parties he hosted.

Allegations were made against Jeffries and Matthew Smith, his former romantic partner.

The feds allege that James Jacobson, of Wisconsin, was a recruiter for Jeffries and Smith — who operated an “international sex trafficking and prostitution business” from 2008 to 2015.

Shortly after the BBC report was published in late 2023, Abercrombie & Fitch and Jeffries were sued for allegedly turning a blind eye to Jeffries’ alleged misconduct.

MEGA/WENN

The news of their arrests came as a shock to his friends and associates because Jeffries was careful to make young men sign non-disclosure agreements.

They were also required to surrender their wallets and cell phones to attend private events, where drugs and alcohol flowed freely, prosecutors said.

Jeffries, Smith and Jacobson also allegedly recruited, hired and paid household staff to “facilitate and supervise the sex events.”

The staff provided Jeffries, Smith and the young men with muscle relaxants known as “poppers,” lubricant, Viagra, and condoms among other items. The men were paid for attending the sex parties, the indictment said.

Jeffries, Jacobson and Smith used burner phones to contact the young men.

According to the indictment, the men were subjected to “invasive sexual and violent contact by body parts and other objects.”

Jeffries, Jacobson and Smith employed a “full-service security company” to administer non-disclosure agreements, conduct background checks and, if necessary, intimidate “victims,” prosecutors alleged.

“On occasions when witnesses threatened to expose or sue them, Jeffries and Smith relied on the services of a security company to surveil and intimidate those individuals, thereby securing their silence,” it said.

Ex-wife places lien on Tyrese Gibson’s Atlanta mansion

Last month Tyrese Gibson was arrested for underpaying child support for the daughter he shares with his second ex-wife, Samantha Lee.

Now Samantha has filed a lien against Tyrese’s mansion in the affluent Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta.

In September, Tyrese was arrested by a Fulton County sheriff’s deputy during a hearing in the child support case. He was released on $73,000 bond.

At a hearing in 2023, Tyrese was ordered to pay Samantha $10,000 a month in child support. The singer/actor was supposed to begin paying child support in April 2023. Additionally, he was ordered to pay legal fees and court costs to Samantha.

Samantha claimed Tyrese had been making payments of $2,200 a month despite the order for $10,000 monthly.

Tyrese argued that the amount was excessive and said his ex-wife did not need that much because she earned money online. His team filed an appeal.

According to In Touch, Samantha’s lawyer placed a lien for $217,231, plus interest, against Tyrese’s 25,000-square-foot Atlanta mansion.

Tyrese previously gave Architectural Digest a tour of the mansion.

“As I pull up to my house every day, I am literally in disbelief that it’s mine. People come over, and they don’t want to leave,” he said at the time.

“I fell in love with this house as it is completely isolated. It is surrounded by greenery.”

Lawsuit: A ‘well known’ athlete stopped Sean Combs from assaulting his jeweler at a party

A “John Doe” claims he was sexually assaulted by Sean Combs before a “well known” professional athlete intervened and stopped the assault.

The lawsuit, obtained by DailyMail.com, is one of five new filings in New York, including one that claims Combs raped a 13-year-old girl at a VMA after party in the year 2000.

According to the complaint, John Doe owns a luxury car dealership and a jewelry store in the Los Angeles area. In the lawsuit, Doe claims Combs sent him an invitation to attend a Ciroc vodka party. Doe saw the invitation as a good way to to promote his businesses.

The accuser says that Combs, who was “acting strangely” and drunk, “instructed” him to enter his “private office.” Then Doe claims Combs exposed himself and grabbed Doe’s genitals through his pants.

Doe didn’t ask Combs to remove his hand. The plaintiff said he was “shocked and disoriented” and froze momentarily, not knowing what to do.

Combs only released the man’s genitals when a professional athlete walked in the office and intervened.

The accuser says that he immediately fled the party and went home.

The plaintiff claims emotional distress and trauma and has demanded a trial by jury. He is seeking compensatory damages.

The lawsuit doesn’t name the pro athlete who stopped the assault, but rumors suggest the athlete may be LeBron James who often partied with Combs in the past. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes scrubbed tweets from his X timeline to distance himself from Combs.

R&B singer Usher Raymond deleted his entire X.com timeline after Combs’s arrest in September. Usher later claimed his account was “hacked.”

Usher, who has never campaigned for a politician before, is campaigning heavily for presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

Sandra Rose/Sandrarose.com

Fans say Usher is concerned about what the feds have found (or might find) on videos seized during raids on Combs’s homes in Miami and Los Angeles in March.

Attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents over 100 “victims”, told Law&Crime Network that he knows why celebrities like Usher are “scrubbing their social media.”

“There is a long list of people,” Buzbee said. “I have no doubt that there are people right now who know that they were somehow involved in this who are now scrubbing their social media, who are searching their memories, who are deleting their texts, probably deleting pictures, and trying to distance themselves from this. And we know who they are or we will find out who they are.”

Sandra Rose/Samdrarose.com

Another source told DailyMail.com that the May 5, 2025 trial date for Combs will likely be delayed because there are multiple minors involved in the case.

“Minors present a completely different set of circumstances,” Neama Rahmani, a former federal prosecutor, said, according to DailyMail.com. “We know through his lawyers, Combs is arguing that the sexual activity happened, but it was consensual. Of course, for sex trafficking, you need one of those elements: force, thought, or coercion. Obviously, minors cannot consent to any sexual activity, so that would be a very different defense entirely.”

Boy, 14, killed himself after falling in love with AI chatbot that sent him a lethal message

A Florida woman has filed a lawsuit against the makers of an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot app that she claims encouraged her son to kill himself.

14-year-old Sewell Setzer III, a ninth grader in Orlando, Florida, spent most of his time attached to his cell phone, said his mother, Megan Garcia.

Garcia, who is an attorney, filed a lawsuit against Character.AI, a chatbot that role-plays with users and always remains in character.

Sewell knew the chatbot “Dany,” wasn’t a real person, said Garcia. The chatbot was named after Daenerys Targaryen, a fictional character in the series “A Game of Thrones.”

Sewell went by the username “Daenero” on the app.

The app has a disclaimer at the bottom of all the chats that reads, “Remember: Everything Characters say is made up!”

But eventually, Sewell became addicted to the chatbot and he began to believe Dany was real. Friends noticed he started to withdraw as he spent more time on his cell phone.

His grades suffered at school and he isolated himself in his bedroom.

Sewell and Dany’s chats ranged from romantic to sexually charged, DailyMail.com reported.

His parents noticed the danger signs and they made appointments for Sewell to see a therapist on five different occasions.

He was diagnosed with anxiety and disruptive mood dysregulation disorder. Disruptive mood dysregulation disorder is a mental disorder in children and adolescents characterized by mood swings and frequent outbursts.

Sewell had previously been diagnosed with mild Asperger’s syndrome, (also referred to as high functioning autism or being on the spectrum).

On February 23, Sewell’s parents took away his phone after he got in trouble for talking back to a teacher, according to the lawsuit.

Sewell wrote in his journal that he was hurting because he couldn’t text with Dany and that he’d do anything to be with her again.

The lawsuit claimed Sewell stole back his phone on the night of February 28. He then texted Dany that he loved her.

While hiding in the bathroom at his mother’s house, Sewell shared his suicidal thoughts with Dany. That was a fatal mistake.

Dany replied, “Please come home to me as soon as possible, my love.”

Sewell responded, “What if I told you I could come home right now?”

“… please do, my sweet king,” Dany replied.

That’s when Sewell put down his phone, picked up his stepfather’s .45 caliber handgun and pulled the trigger.

Garcia claimed Character.AI’s makers changed the age rating for the app to 17 and older in July 2024.

Prior to that date, the app was available to all ages, including children under the age of 13.

The lawsuit also claims Character.AI actively targeted a younger audience to train its AI models, while also steering them toward sexual conversations.

“I feel like it’s a big experiment, and my kid was just collateral damage,” Garcia said.
