BANK OF AMERICA SUCKS!

This is a word of warning to anyone with a Bank of America checking account: if you use your debit card to purchase anything online – even if it is a one-time order – unscrupulous merchants can help themselves to your money and BoFA will do nothing to help you!

Online companies have helped themselves to over $2000 of MY money and all BoFA will say is, sorry, we can’t help you because we don’t know the terms of your agreement with that merchant.

BoFA will not refund your money unless you threaten to sue, and even then, BoFA will only refund a small portion of your cash and tell you to take the merchant to court. I’ve read the horror stories online from other BoFA account holders but I never thought it would happen to me. I have been hit three times by three different companies – all in 6 months! Out of the $2000 stolen from my account, BoFA has only refunded $900!

This can’t be a coincidence!

I’m not going to go into specifics, but this is no coincidence that merchants are suddenly helping themselves to our cash. Obviously they realize that there is a loophole with debit accounts and BoFA is doing nothing to fill it.

Canceling your card will not help you: after a company took $1350 out of my checking account 3 months ago, a BoFA rep told me that even if she canceled my debit card, the bank would continue to pay the merchant because I allowed the merchant access to my account.

Solution: do not use your BoFA debit card for any online purchases, even if it is a one-time purchase. Use a credit card instead.

Shad Moss aka Bow Wow continued his bi-coastal 21st birthday celebration at the Jet Nightclub at the Mirage in Las Vegas on Saturday night. Snoop Dogg, Jermaine Dupri and his mom Teresa were in the building.

Bow Wow may be 21 now but he can still pass for a 12-year-old adolescent. Fortunately his wallet makes him stand taller than most men.

Mariah Carey only had a few days to prepare for her Saturday Night Live appearance after Janet Jackson canceled due to sickness from low record sales (more about that in a minute).

Mariah performed the second single off her E=MC² album, “Migrate” with T-Pain. Did I say “performed”? I meant to say lip synced for most of the performance. T-Pain could have stayed home in Atlanta looking like a Haitian Voodoo priest. Neither one of them impressed me with their lip syncing abilities.

But back to poor Janet. Rumor has it that Janet is “totally devastated” by the low sales of her album “Discipline”. She is said to be so disappointed that she canceled her much ballyhooed appearance on SNL due to the flu.

A source tells me that Janet really was rushed to Cedars Sinai hospital complaining of breathing difficulties. But a confidential source said Janet actually suffered a “panic attack” and has not been seen in public since.

Janet was supposed to be the in-studio guest on her boyfriend Jermaine Dupri‘s popular radio show So So Def Radio last night on V-103. But that too was canceled at the last minute, and Jermaine is reportedly in L.A. consoling Janet.

We here at Sandrarose.com hope Janet gets well soon and doesn’t take her low records sales to heart. If there’s any consolation, “Dreamgirls” is still the lowest-selling #1 album in the 16-year history of Soundscan.

Jennifer Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony, affectionately known as “Igor,” stepped out on the town last night. The couple who are $6 million dollars richer after selling their babies souls to People magazine, both look like they haven’t slept in days since their babies were born.

I bet J-Lo regrets paying all that money to the fertility doctor now.

Britney Spears gets the last laugh: 13 hospital workers fired

UCLA is in the process of firing at least 13 hospital employees and disciplining several others, including doctors who are harder to fire. The employees were terminated for simply looking at Britney’s old medical files. Obviously UCLA takes the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) very seriously.

Spears, 26, was involuntary hospitalized at the campus’s psych ward for one week beginning Jan. 31, after her doctor made the request.

But the records reviewed by those who are targeted for dismissal were from previous hospitalizations at UCLA, the Times reports. The dates and purposes of those hospitalizations weren’t known. (Source)

Those of us who work in the health field know that unless we work directly with a particular patient, we have no business peeking into that patient’s old records. We also know that every time we access a hospital network computer, our keystrokes are recorded.

So we log in with someone else’s password. Ha ha, I kid I kid!

Now Kimora Lee says she’s not pregnant

Remember I told you just last week about publicists who spread bogus stories to get press for their attention-hungry clients? Here’s a perfect example of that. First Page Six reports that a source told them that Kimora Lee Simmons was pregnant with current boyfriend Djimon Hounsou‘s seed.

Now Kimora says (as she signs her publicist’s check) Page Six made it all up. Don’t believe for one minute that Page Six pulled that story out of thin air.

Simmons, who looked curvaceous but bump-free in a body-clinging salmon dress and who was in town as part of St. Louis Fashion Week, did not take direct questions about the pregnancy rumors, but said: “[Reporters] call and ask if I’m pregnant. It all came from Page Six. … You guys shouldn’t believe it.

“Simmons, the author of Fabulousity: What It Is and How to Get It added, “People believe what they want to believe because it’s sensational and it’s fun. And they think that’s fabulous. I encourage readers to ignore it and seek out the truth.”

The fashion designer has two daughters, Ming Lee, 8, and Aoki Lee, 5, with ex-husband, Phat Farm and Def Jam founder Russell Simmons. (Source)

Snoop Dogg says ugly women don’t sell records

I’ve grown wary of these light skin/dark skin debates. But since rapper Snoop Dogg decided to go there with yet another ignorant comment, I will go there with him. According to Hot 97’s Miss Info, Snoop Dogg said the following on women in rap:

“How many ugly women selling records? None! Only the pretty ones sell records. Beyonce, Mary J, Keyshia Cole, the ugly ones don’t sell. I ain’t gon say no names, but they don’t sell records. They just be singing their little hearts out, but they don’t get no sales, cause they ugly. Now, that’s my fault? I can see this on TV now: ‘Snoop Dogg called me, ugly.’ You beautiful on the inside, baby. What I wanna say to go on top of that, to the chocolate women, the dark-skinned women, I love ya’ll. I got a chocolate daughter at home. I always tell her chocolate is the best thing in the world….” (Source)

Please note that Snoop only mentioned the light skinned singers which he (and most of the industry) consider beautiful. Hopefully Snoop’s daughter Cori won’t aspire to be a singer since she won’t sell any records, according to her daddy.

All this issue does is serve to further divide and conquer our race when we should be creating dialogue that helps to build a bridge between the different inter-races within our African diaspora.
