Oscars Apologizes to Whoopi Goldberg

The Oscars finally issued an apology to Whoopi Goldberg for omitting her from it’s Oscar montage. The omission left Whoopi in tears on the set of the View the day after the Academy Awards aired.

It was “an absolute oversight,” the award show’s producer told People magazine.

“No harm was intended, and I feel very, very badly that she was left out,” Gil Cates said Tuesday. “I’m going to call her and tell her that.”Although described as a montage of hosts, the piece shown at Sunday night’s telecast on ABC was actually “supposed to be a montage of 80 exciting moments of the Academy Awards” culled from hundreds of hours of footage, says Cates. “Basically, that was not a montage about hosts.”

He noted that former host Steve Martin also wasn’t in the montage.

Staying true to form, Beyonce has not yet responded to criticism from Etta James who questioned the choice of Bee to play the legendary singer in a new biopic.

But we are questioning Bee’s choice in lacefront wigs. Beyoncé was spotted by the paps during an outing with her man Jay Z in NY last night. Beyoncé is said to be anxious to begin filming “Cadillac Records”, in which she plays Etta James.

Page Six spies caught songbird Rihanna and her pal Chris Brown romping in a pool at a hotel in Jamaica. This is the first photo of Rihanna and CB together as a couple on vacation. While we here at Sandrarose.com do not believe that RiRi and CB are a couple, we do admit they look cute together.

The two arrived in Jamaica on Friday from Rihanna’s native Barbados where she was appointed Ambassador. RiRi performed for the Jamaica Africa Unite Bob Marley celebration in St. Mary.

The Grammy winner, who was thrown a big birthday bash by Chris for her 20th birthday last week, was all over her younger man. “They were smooching in the pool and were really lovely dovey,” the PageSix.com spy told us exclusively. “They were playfully making out and he was kissing her on the neck.”

The attractive pair, who got matching star tattoos on their necks in January, got in the pool after a leisurely lunch yesterday at the Hilton Kingston Hotel in Jamaica. They were hanging out with friends and at about 3 p.m., Chris, 18, jumped into the water and waited while Rihanna went to her room and changed into a bikini.

She came back and was very scared of getting her hair wet, said the spy. “They were floating together with him carrying her and she kept saying, ‘Don’t get my hair wet.’ She was very soft and feminine but he was a big kid and splashing around.” (Source)

Rihanna was recently celebrated and honored in her native Barbados where she was appointed Honorary Cultural Ambassador. The response to RiRi’s homecoming by her fellow Barbadians discounted the rumors that they were ignoring Ri Ri’s worldwide success.

Rihanna feted her success with friends and family including her BFF Chris Brown.

In addition to her status as the current “it” girl in entertainment, Rihanna added Philanthropist to her impressive résumé: According to People magazine, Rihanna is putting the word out in hopes of finding a bone marrow donor for a New York City woman who only has 6 weeks to live.

The search for a donor tops the list of priorities for the young singer who is using her international fame to bring attention to the need for more bone marrow donors. “When I heard about Lisa’s plight, my heart broke,” said Rihanna, 20. “I said, ‘I need to get the word out about Lisa right away.’ ”

Sean Combs is sending baby gifts to new mother of twins, Jennifer Lopez. We know this because Combs can’t simply do something nice without sending out a press release to announce it.

Combs, who drew raves for his terrible acting in the television remake of Broadway’s A Raisin in the Sun which aired last night on ABC, told People magazine, “I’m going to send Jennifer and Marc some Sean John baby clothes. I’m so happy for her, it’s such a blessing, and she will make a great mother.”

Lopez bypassed the waiting hordes of paparazzi to take her twins home form the hospital yesterday. Combs, who is the father of twins himself said, “It’s double the love, and it’s also double the crying and the screaming, so it’s a unique blessing.” (Source)

Combs’ long time girlfriend Kim Porter probably shares the same fertility doctor as J-Lo, Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba and everyone else in Hollywood. Don’t you know having twins is the new fad in Hollywood?

R.I.P. Static Major

Noted producer Static Major, real name Stephen Garrett, passed away yesterday in a Louisville, KY hospital.

As a member of Playa, Static began his musical career under the tutelage of Jodeci’s DeVante Swing, and formed kinships with fellow members of DeVante’s Swing Mob such as Missy Elliott, Timbaland, and Ginuwine. No autopsy has been performed, but it is believed he died from a brain aneurysm.

Static’s most successful work was for Aaliyah, whose single “Try Again” from the 2000 film Romeo Must Die, rose to number 1 on the charts. In the mid-2000s, Static worked with R&B group Pretty Ricky, R&B singer Tank, and appeared on David Banner‘s 2004 single “Crank It Up”.

Recently, Major Static collaborated with Lil’ Wayne on the single “I Got My.” Click image to listen to single.

Young Jeezy Makes a Wish Come True Tonight

The rumors that plagued Young Jeezy‘s “Make Your Dreams Come True” contest will be settled tonight when Jeezy makes a North Carolina woman’s wish come true.

Rumor had it that Jeezy, real name Jay Jenkins, refused to grant contest winner Tamara Jenkins-Wilson‘s wish for a wheelchair accessible van to transport her disabled son because he didn’t want to pay for it.

Jeezy’s camp strenuously denied the Internet rumors. Mrs. Jenkins-Wilson and her son, Davon Jenkins, 13, will be presented with the customized wheelchair accessible van tonight at a special dinner at Justin’s restaurant.

In her winning letter, Jenkins-Wilson, who is no relation to Jeezy, wrote, “My ultimate dream would be for me to provide a Wheelchair Accessible Van for my son, Davon Jenkins. Davon is 13-years-old and has cerebral palsy and is confined to a wheelchair.” Mrs. Wilson whose husband is currently serving his country in Iraq, continued, “I physically lift [Davon] in and out of our vehicle when we need to go to appointments and such.”

Jeezy flew members of Jenkins-Wilson’s family to Atlanta where they will join members of his own family for the special dinner and presentation at Justin’s restaurant tonight. Jeezy’s boo Keyshia Cole is not expected to attend.
