GOP Lawmakers React to Trump’s Rob Reiner Comments: “Inappropriate and disrespectful”

Famed actor/director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner were found stabbed to death in their Brentwood, California mansion on Sunday, December 14.

Their 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner was arrested on Monday and charged with their murders. He is being held in jail on $4 million bond.

Rob Reiner hated President Donald Trump with a passion. Reiner roasted Trump online and on every talk show for years.

In 2017, he said Trump was “mentally unfit” for the presidency.

However, no one expected Trump to respond to Reiner’s murder by blaming the legendary director for his own death.

In a post on his Truth Social app on Monday, December 15, Trump said Reiner died “reportedly due to the anger he caused others through… a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME.”

“He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump,” Trump added.

GOP lawmakers slammed Trump for going too far.

“Regardless of how you felt about Rob Reiner, this is inappropriate and disrespectful discourse about a man who was just brutally murdered,” Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie wrote on X (Twitter).

“I challenge anyone to defend it,” he added.

Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who recently resigned from Congress, wrote on X: “This is a family tragedy, not about politics or political enemies.”

But Trump doubled down when a reporter asked if he still stands by his comments after Republicans denounced his post on Truth Social.

“Well, I wasn’t a fan of his at all. He was a deranged person, as far as Trump is concerned,” Trump responded. “So I wasn’t a fan of Rob Reiner at all. In any way, shape, or form. I thought he was very bad for our country.”

Former Trump loyalist Nick Fuentes said Trump’s comment crossed over the line.

“Someone gets murdered by their son – its’ a horrific tragedy. It’s a horrible story and nobody deserves that. I don’t care what their politics are,” said Fuentes in an episode of his podcast. “It’s despicable to make fun of that.”

Social media users also condemned Trump’s statements about Reiner.

X user @allenalysis wrote: “People lost their jobs over comments about Charlie Kirk. Meanwhile, the President of the United States is publicly mocking the murder of Rob Reiner and his wife, claiming he died from ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome.'”

Another user @dpakman wrote: “Trump’s comment about the assassination of Rob Reiner and his wife is one of the sickest reactions to a killing I have ever seen, period. It is what a seriously mentally deranged person would say, and it goes without saying this post would get you fired from most jobs.”

Conservatives who voted for Trump 3 times now regret supporting him.

But others defended Trump. They note that many on the left cracked jokes after Charlie Kirk died.

Still, one Trump supporter wishes the president would stop commenting on social media and “lead the country.”

Khloe Kardashian doesn’t play when it comes to Amari Thompson, her ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson’s 19-year-old disabled brother.

Amari was diagnosed with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and epilepsy at birth. He is nonverbal.

Kindhearted Khloe took Amari into her home when his mom passed away in 2023. She’s been helping to care for him ever since.

Khloe shared videos of Amari in dance class at Carousel Dance Studio in West Hills, California on Saturday.

“I’m going to post a few videos from Amari’s dance class, and I just want to say that I was given permission to post,” she said. “I know there’s other students in the class, but I got permission. I want to highlight such an amazing dance academy that does so much for special children. It’s so beautiful and it’s so special, and these kids are so happy.”

She added, “I don’t know how someone wouldn’t cry, but being in these classes, it’s so beautiful. So, I just had to leave this little note that I’m not doing anything without permission — and just [sharing] how happy everyone is. If you want some feel-good content, stay tuned.”

“The dance academy does amazing things for these magical children,” she wrote on Saturday. “Such an honor to be a witness to such great souls. The academy gave permission for me to post the [videos] I posted, and I know it goes a long way for their business to be highlighted. God bless all of these angels.”

But Khloe was disappointed when she noticed her followers making mean comments about Amari in dance class.

“Last time I posted Amari in his dance class, I heard some ridiculous commentary about, ‘How is this dance? Does he even know what’s going on?'” She said in a video posted to her Instagram Stories on Saturday. “All of this gross commentary that I don’t need [and] no one needs.”

She continued: “So, if you don’t know or you have never had someone with special needs in your life and you don’t know what their interests are or what makes them happy, don’t comment. If you don’t like this type of content, you don’t have to watch it. We’re all good over here.”

Anthony “Tony” Geary, who played one of daytime TV’s most iconic characters, has died at age 78. The Daytime Emmy winner died Sunday from post-op complications in the Netherlands.

Tony became an overnight sensation as Luke Spencer on ABC’s “General Hospital” in the 1970s.

ABC didn’t have longterm plans for Luke Spencer who r*ped Laura Webber (played by Genie Francis) in 1978.

But public support for the couple was so strong that Luke Spencer and Laura Webber became a supercouple.

Luke and Laura became a nationwide phenomenon dominating soap headlines and gracing the cover of magazines on a weekly basis.

Luke and Laura’s 1981 wedding episode is still the highest-rated soap opera episode of all-time with over 30 million viewers.

Tony won a record 8 Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role.

He returned to General Hospital in 1991 as Luke’s cousin and look-alike Bill Eckert. But fans disapproved of the character.

Bill Eckert was killed off, and Tony returned to General Hospital as Luke Spencer in 1993.

Tony shocked his female fans when he came out as gay. He met Claudio Gama in February 1995, and the couple married in February 2019. Tony and Claudio moved to the Netherlands after Tony’s retirement in 2015.

Claudio broke the news of Tony’s death on Monday, December 15.

“It was a shock for me and our families and our friends,” he told the “TV Insider” website. “For more than 30 years, Tony has been my friend, my companion, my husband.”

A DoorDash driver who pepper sprayed a food delivery order was arrested on a charge of tampering with food.

Kourtney Stevenson, of Kentucky, was arrested Friday and booked into the McCracken County Jail there.

She was identified by DoorDash after viral doorbell camera footage showed her spraying a substance on a customer’s Arby’s food order in Evansville, Indiana.

Stevenson is banned from the DoorDash app in every state.

She faces several charges, including consumer product tampering and battery resulting in moderate bodily injury.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Stevenson was arrested for contaminating an Arby’s food order.

“This instance was rather disturbing,” Sheriff Noah Robinson said.

“Obviously, it’s not something you see every day, a DoorDash driver or a food delivery driver deliberately tampering with somebody’s food.”

Mark Cardin said his wife became ill after eating the food on Sunday, December 7.

Cardin checked the doorbell camera footage and saw the blue-haired driver spraying a substance on the food before strolling away.

Cardin told 14 News that his wife, Mandy, started choking and vomited after eating the food.

“I noticed my wife had starting eating and she started choking and gasping, and after she had a couple bites of her food she actually threw up,” he told WFIE.

“I had a look at the bag and seen that there was some kind of spray or something,” Cardin said. “The bag had been tampered with. So I pulled up my doorbell camera and seen that the lady who dropped the food off had actually tampered with it on purpose for some reason.”

Stevenson told investigators she was visiting her father in Evansville, Indiana, and was delivering for DoorDash when she saw a spider near the customer’s door.

She claimed she sprayed the spider because she is afraid of spiders.

Sheriff Robinson said investigators were skeptical of her story.

“I am not an arachnid expert, but I do know, having been a southern Indiana resident for my entire life, that spiders don’t crawl around in the wintertime, and the low that night was about 35 degrees,” Robinson said.

“Any spider would be warm inside its shelter and would not be crawling around somebody’s doorstep,” he added.

Tampering with food is a felony that can be punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Blueface‘s baby mama Chrisean Rock threw hands after a Crips gangbanger slapped her face at a Christmas parade in Compton, California on Saturday, December 13.

According to reports, Chrisean was invited to the community event to meet families and pray with local children. But as she was leaving, she was approached by a group of female Crips members who began to antagonize her.

As Chrisean spoke to one woman, another female began recording video of her. Chrisean reached for the girl’s cell phone and got slapped.

A young man realized the extreme danger she was in and tried to escort her to her car. But Chrisean refused to let the woman off easy.

Cell phone footage shows Chrisean fighting several women at one time.

TMZ reports that the women were female Crips gang members and one of them slapped the “Baddies” star for grabbing her phone.

Chrisean’s ex-boyfriend, rapper Blueface weighed in on Instagram, writing: “Don’t play with the LA gang culture. you will get slapped in yo ish for some ish you don’t know about [sic].”

Afterward, Chrisean explained what happened and showed she had all of her jewelry and there were no marks on her face.

Gayle King’s job is up for grabs and sources say CBS is considering Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, to replace her as co-host of CBS Mornings.

CBS News announced “A Townhall with Erika Kirk” to be moderated by CBS News editor-in-chief, Bari Weiss. Erika will discuss the murder of her husband, Charlie, rising political violence in America, the future of the conservative movement, and her faith.

Erika, 37, rose to prominence in America after her husband was tragically killed by a sniper on September 10, in Orem, Utah.

The widowed mom-of-2 was appointed the chairwoman and CEO of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), the conservative organization which Charlie co-founded.

The former beauty queen participated in the Miss Arizona USA and Miss USA pageants in 2012. She is the founder of the non-profits Everyday Heroes Like You and BIBLEin365.

Recently, an insider told RadarOnline that CBS will not renew Gayle King’s $15 million annual salary which is set to expire in May 2026.

Another source said Bari was considering replacing Gayle with former “Today Show” co-host Hoda Kotb (pictured).

“People with big salaries and small ratings are going to be mercilessly cut – and Gayle fits the bill in both categories,” the source told RadarOnline.

The source added: “Bari [Weiss] wants a huge name who brings warmth, credibility – and viewers. And Hoda checks every box.”

The news that Erika might sit in Gayle King’s chair was met with surprise and criticism. CBS viewers say Gayle should be replaced by another person of color, not a privileged multi-millionaire.

One person on the LGBT+ board Data Lounge wrote sarcastically, “This will surely get the highest ratings in CBS history.”

Someone else wrote on X (Twitter), “CBS just lost all credibility. Jesus Christ.”

Others chastised Erika for being a “grifter”. One person wrote: “Lemme just flaunt my millions for Jesus while we run a little op for Benny Netanyahu and mainstream a child-grooming org called TPUSA. What a f–ing grifter con.”

A second person tweeted: “Really sad to see the network of Cronkite and Murrow brought so low.”

Legendary Funk/Soul/R&B singer Carl Carlton died on Sunday, Dec. 14, from natural causes. He was 72. Carl suffered a stroke in 2019.

The singer/songwriter is best known for his hits “Everlasting Love” and “She’s a Bad Mama Jama (She’s Built, She’s Stacked)”.

Born in Detroit, Michigan in 1953, Carl took an early interest in music and singing. He began his career in the mid-1960s as “Little Carl” Carlton and had minor regional hits, including “So What” and “Don’t You Need a Boy Like Me”.

Carl was inspired by Stevie Wonder, who recorded under the name “Little Stevie Wonder” in the 1960s.

In 1968, Carl relocated to Houston, Texas, after signing with Don D. Robey’s Back Beat Record label.

His first single for Back Beat Records, “Competition Ain’t Nothing” topped the R&B charts in the UK.

Carl’s first major hit in the United States was “Everlasting Love,” a disco remake of Robert Knight’s song of the same title.

After a royalty dispute with Robey, Carl signed with Mercury Records in 1977, and released one single on that label.

In 1980, Leon Haywood helped him sign a singles deal with 20th Century Records. Carl released the biggest hit of his career with the Haywood-penned “She’s a Bad Mama Jama (She’s Built, She’s Stacked)”, in 1981.

The single peaked at number 2 on the R&B/Soul chart and earned Carl a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance at the 24th Annual Grammy Awards.

Carl’s subsequent album, Carl Carlton, went gold in 1981.

He released several more albums in the 1980s, including The Bad C.C. (1982) and Private Property (1985).

The Bad C.C. spawned the songs “Baby I Need Your Loving” and “Swing That Sexy Thang.”

After a brief hiatus, Carl returned to the music scene with his album Main Event (1994).

In 2010, he recorded his first gospel album titled God Is Good, which earned him a Detroit Music Award nomination in the Outstanding Gospel/Christian Vocalist category.

Carl toured in the 2010s until he suffered a stroke in 2019 which left him with mobility deficits.

Friends said he worked hard to regain his mobility and to live an independent life.
