One of Akon's harem of wives, Tomeka Thiam, will join the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

It isn't clear if Tomeka will be a "friend" of the cast, or if she even knows any of the cast members personally.

What is clear is that Tomeka has enough drama in her life to fill several seasons of scripts.

For starters, Tomeka is one of Akon's handful of wives. It's unknown if she's the main wife or just one of his concubines.

Sources close to production tell TMZ, that Tomeka has agreed to be part of season 14 of 'RHOA' and will film with the other Housewives beginning in November.

According to TMZ, no official decision has been made on whether she will be a regular, a "friend", or just make a guest appearance.

Former RHOA cast member Sheree Whitfield is also rumored to return to the show, but only if she regained full-time Housewife status with her own peach in hand.

Akon, who is Senegalese, famously admitted he has several wives, but it's unclear if he or any of his other wives will make an appearance on the new season of RHOA.

Akon sparked controversy during a concert in 2017 when he simulated sex with a 15-year-old girl at the Zen Nightclub in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago as part of a fake contest.

As a result of the scandal, Verizon Wireless removed cellphone ringtones featuring Akon's songs. Verizon also pulled out as a sponsor of The Sweet Escape Tour where Akon was the opening act for Gwen Stefani.

Akon insists the rich and famous have more problems than poor people. The Senegalese music mogul gave insight into the lives of the well-to-do after the untimely death of his friend, Michael K. Williams.

Michael was found dead in his Brooklyn penthouse from an apparent heroin overdose on Monday, Sept. 6. He was 54.

The "I Wanna Love You" rapper is convinced Michael's death is yet another example of what the "facade of success" can do to a person.

"This business creates an environment where everyone's wearing a mask. The famous and the rich go through more issues than the poor. More money, more problems," said Akon.

The 48-year-old rapper urged substance abusers to seek help and find healthier ways to cope with their problems.

He told TMZ:

"I would advise anyone who's on any kind of drugs of that nature just let it go. There's other ways to cope with issues and challenges in your life besides drugs and alcohol."

Akon - who has always claimed to be drug-free - proudly shared how he deals with his problems and how he is unashamed to ask for help when he needs it.

"I face my problems head on. Whatever challenges I have I'll face it, because if you don't face it it's gonna haunt you. I'm not afraid to ask for help. If I need it, I'm gonna ask."

Akon confirmed he had not seen his friend Michael since before the coronavirus pandemic, but he called the "The Wire" star an "amazing person" who was "super funny and super talented."

Michael was vocal about his lifelong struggles with drug addictions.

Less than a week before his body was discovered by his nephew, the "Boardwalk Empire" actor seemed to urge fans not to "cry" for him in a cryptic post on Instagram.

The post featured a clip of his friend Tracy Morgan urging fans not to pity him while talking about surviving a fatal limousine crash in 2014.

In the clip, the 52-year-old comedian said: "Don't cry for me okay. I had a misfortunate [sic] accident. Don't cry for me. Cry for all the others, man.

Morgan was seriously injured and fellow comedian James McNair died when a limo they were riding in was struck by a Walmart truck.

Kevin Roper, 37, pleaded guilty to second-degree vehicular homicide and four counts of third-degree aggravated assault in a New Jersey court in 2014.

Update: AJC.com reports singer Akon's white Range Rover SUV was recovered after being stolen from a Buckhead gas station early Tuesday.

Akon told police he was still pumping gas when he noticed his SUV pulling away from the gas pump.

Surveillance video confirmed his story. The video footage shows a black four-door BMW sedan driving into the gas station at 11:37 p.m. and pulling alongside the Range Rover, according to the police report.

The singer's cellphone was still inside the car when it was stolen. He used a tracking app on the phone to follow the vehicle to Lawton Street in southwest Atlanta, but it was already gone by the time police arrived, according to AJC.com.

The vehicle was recovered in Forest Park Tuesday morning, said police spokesman Officer Steve Avery.

Akon, whose real name is Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam, is best known for his singles "Locked Up" and "Lonely" off his debut album Trouble (2004).

His second studio album Konvicted (2006) sold over one million records in the U.S. after only six weeks.

Konvicted spawned the hits "Smack That" (featuring Eminem), "I Wanna Love You", featuring Snoop Dogg, "Gringo" and "Don't Matter." The album eventually sold more than 5 million copies globally.

Auto thefts in Atlanta are up about 47 percent from this time last year, according to 11 Alive News.

Atlanta police urge residents to be vigilant and never leave their vehicles running. A similar incident happened to Atlanta rapper Ludacris last year when his Mercedes was stolen.

"Any time you stop your vehicle and you leave your vehicle for just a split second, please turn your vehicle off and take your keys with you and secure your vehicle," Lt. Dorian Graham told 11 Alive. "We're having far too many vehicles stolen because we are leaving our vehicles running."

Singer Akon is encouraging Black Americans to "let go of the past" and move on from the brutal history of slavery.

The 47-year-old Senegalese star insists his fellow Africans have "overcome" their past and the cruelty their ancestors faced as slave traders ripped families apart.

"We've kind of overcome the thought of slavery, we don't even think about it," Akon said during a new interview with VladTV.

"The only time we think about it, honestly, is when we're doing tours at Goree Island. Outside of that, people have lived and moved way beyond the slavery concept."

Goree is a tiny island off the main harbor of Dakar, Senegal, a pivotal destination for slave trading from the 15th to 19th centuries.

Akon believes American Blacks could benefit by "letting go" of slavery, because it's such a large weight to carry. He said Black people will never make progress until they let go of the past.

"I think it's the art of just letting the past go and moving towards the future. I think, in the U.S., they have this stigma of just not letting go of the past and blaming the past on every mishap or, you know, disappointment. I think as long as you hold onto that past, there's a lot of weight that you carry with you everywhere you go. It's hard to move forward and move fast when you've got a weight on your back. You just gotta let it go."

The "Smack That" singer urges "brainwashed" Black Americans to travel to Africa, where they'll be accepted.

"Do you want to stay here (in America) and continue to be treated this way or just go back home, where you're no longer the minority. You actually are the majority, and you control your destiny, your future, and your land... They just need to go... America did a good job at brainwashing (them). The moment you mention Africa, they start shaking. They don't even know why."

Akon is once again in the news for spending lavishly on one of his 7 wives. The "Locked Up" singer reportedly paid $1 million for his wife Tricia Ana's plastic surgery. But Black Twitter says he was robbed.

MTO News spoke with a close friend of Akon's who claims the African rapper and mogul paid as much as $1,000,000 for silicone and reconstruction surgery for Tricia.

"Akon made sure that everything she had was top of the line - including whatever surgeries she had," the friend told MTO News.

Tricia, who stars with Akon in the upcoming Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood, is one of the singer's seven wives. She exchanged vows with Akon in his native Senegal a few years ago.

The 46-year-old Aries has six children with as many wives. Polygamy (one man with multiple wives) is perfectly legal in Africa.
