Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj

Entertainers Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj performed a raunchy lap dance routine during the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, proving that hip hop music is more suitable for a strip club than on the radio. The labelmates performed onstage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 19. I'm surprised Weezy didn't suffer a seizure from all the excitement and flashing lights.

When Lil Wayne hits the road on July 9th with rappers T.I. and 2 Chainz for the 40-city 'America's Most Wanted' tour, rapper Future will not be with them.

"I haven't been on the road in a minute," Weezy told MTV News on May 3. "I'm ready to get back out there and I'm going out there with Future and 'em, and they're going to obviously take over; I'm just playing the back field," he said.

That same day, PepsiCo announced it was dropping Lil Wayne (and the tour) from a sponsorship contract due to offensive lyrics in one of his songs.

    Lil Wayne apology

PepsiCo has dropped troubled rapper Lil Wayne just 2 days after his publicist wrote an "apology" letter to the family of 14-year-old civil rights icon Emmett Till.

PepsiCo, which distributes Mountain Dew, said in a statement late Friday that Wayne's offensive comparison of Till to a violent sexual act on Future's “Karate Chop” remix did "not reflect the values of our brand."

In the "apology" letter, the publicist wrote, "Moving forward, I will not use or reference Emmett Till or the Till family in my music, especially in an inappropriate manner.” and concluded with, "…my ultimate intention is to uplift rather than degrade our community."

But Till's family dismissed the letter, saying it was a step short of an apology.

According to my west coast connect -- who is very well connected -- troubled rapper Lil Wayne suffered a seizure around 11 p.m. Tuesday, west coast time. My source says Wayne was rushed to Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles, the same hospital where he spent a week in ICU in March.

    Lil Wayne Epileptic

Rapper Lil Wayne is attempting to deflect rumors of his alleged drug use by claiming to be an epileptic. Epilepsy can be an acute (new) or chronic (longstanding) disruption of signals in the brain that results in controlled or uncontrolled convulsions (seizure activity).

In an interview with LA's Power 106 on Thursday, Wayne, 30, said epilepsy is the reason behind his multiple hospitalizations -- not his reported addiction to Promethazine/Codeine prescription cough syrup (aka Sizzurp or Purple Drank), which can also cause epileptic seizures.

Promethazine/Codeine is not prescribed for epilepsy.

    Lil Wayne

According to gossip website TMZ.com, troubled rapper Lil Wayne was released from Cedars-Sinai hospital yesterday, where he was treated for recurrent seizures related to a reported drug overdose.

Confusion reigned when Wayne was re-admitted to Cedars-Sinai on Friday after a bodyguard found him unconscious on the floor of his hotel room.

Sources on the west coast told several websites, including this one, that Wayne was on his death bed. But the rumors turned out to be false. A tweet allegedly sent from Wayne's phone only added to the confusion -- and confirmed suspicions that Wayne was in no condition to send the tweet himself.

    Emmet Till Lil Wayne

Rap troll lil wayne has gone too far. The 30-year-old convicted gremlin drew angry reactions to his latest remix track by including a vulgar reference to Emmet till.

Till's family expressed their disappointment in wayne's lyrics -- as did R&B legend Stevie Wonder.

"You can't equate that to Emmett Till," Wonder said. "You just cannot do that... I think you got to have someone around you that — even if they are the same age or older — is wiser to say, 'Yo, that's not happening. Don't do that,'" said Wonder who was 5 when 14-year-old Till was tortured and killed by racists in Mississippi in the 1950s.
