What the hay happened to Mariah Carey’s voice? Tell me why lately Mariah sounds like Mister Ed the talking horse?
She half lip synchs on Good Morning America this morning much to her fans chagrin. And when she wasn’t lip synching she was forgetting her lyrics. At one point she told her back up singers, “Stop singing my parts now, bay-bay.” What???

she’s always beena boring live performer but at least the vocals made up. As of late, I havent seen one good, solid live performance.
Adding Mariah to the list of studio artist!

I LOVE Mariah’s voice and MOST of her music, but as far as her performances’ go, she needs to TIGHTEN UP!!
All these young girls, like Rihanna, Beyonce, Amerie and other’s (too many to mention, so that’s even worse) are on top of the “performance” game.

I didn’t see where she messed up. I think Mariah has always been giving to much credit for being a powerhouse singer when she is not. She can hit high notes, but her voice is airy and barely audible in the higher register. But her lower register is ok. She is no Whitney, that’s for sure. I’d put her on the same level as Brandy.
I don’t see or hear where she messed up either.
about the 3 minute mark is where she sang back to her background singers on the sly not to sing her part - lol

Well I can say Mariah is a GREAT Writer…
She does have that advantage..
A friend of mine tried to argue with me about MJB’s vocals against Mariah’s..let’s make this clear once and for all MJB is NOT I repeat NOT the greatest singer HOWEVER she commands the stage and will give it her all…Mariah..has absolutely NO stage presence, goes from whispering to belting in mere seconds and is too preoccupied with staying cute..because of this you miss out on how truly talented she is..if she doesn’t stop..she will have another “breakdown” this time in sales..GET TOGETHER MIMI

why didn’t they just let her sing live to an instrumental track? How dumb is she?

i’m not a mariah fan…i did however like the music on the last cd…but, i hate this touch my body. i don’t know how in the h*ll it broke all of those records. but, she gives her audience nothing new. always tight clothes, sunglasses, butterflies, stripper shoes…and dabrat tagging along somewhere looking like a d*mn boy!!!!
I am astonished that she actually said on GMA “Stop singing my parts now, bay-bay.” Where’s her class and performance etiquette? For someone who’s 38 and has put out 10 album, I definitely expected more from her. I will say that this is the best I’ve seen her look in a long time, but her strive to be “hot” took precedence over her need to deliver an amazing performance
Her voice went out on some of those high notes. I’m not sure who else bought the album, but if you listen every track has these extraordinary notes, yet when we see the live performances she can’t even come close to keeping up with track. If you can’t do BETTER than the album when you preform live, you have to at least meet the same standards as your album. Sad.
P.S. I’m not terribly in love with the album, good album overall, but I felt Mariah could do better once you compare these songs with some of her older ones

Mariah can not sing live except when she is trying to prove something. She needs to do another MTV unplugg cd.
i have been a mariah fan since day one. i go and cop the albums on the DAY they come out. i even have the christmas album. i never EVA thought the day would coome when i fell outta love with mc. but the day has come. the new album is GARBAGE. i want my $10 back. either she need to have some kids and get married so she can grow or maybe it is because i am married with kids now and really don’t want to hear mariah singing about going to the club no more. something happened. it is missing the power ballad she has on all her albums and the inspirational song too. it is so terrible. worse than glitter. i am gonna keep it only so i don’t have a gap but oh my it sucks BAD.
extraordinary i agree. none of the “true” mc fans want to hear “mariah sings hip-hop”…that is what i nicknamed the new album. hip hop already has a queen and her name is mary.

Mariah has always been a studio singer. Monica is a true singer and prove it years ago as a teen ,when she shut down mjb with misty blue. mjb is not a sanger fans giving her to much credit. patti, rachell, jen holiday,tonya , powerhouse . whitney and monica greatedt vocalist. the goodies queen greatest entertainer alive, nobody command the stage like C I A R A

Does, anyone remember the BET awards a couple years ago when “we belong together” first came out, and she lipsynched the whole thing and didn’t perform onstage like everyone else but, on some ridiculous set backstage.
Mariah needs to stop being cute and just sing.
I remember seeing her on Apollo when she first came out singing Vision of Love and she sounded waaaay better than this. I guess these days she’s just pressed to look super cute and stiff instead of just singing the dang song.

i didn’t see where she messed up.i was just happy to hear a decent performance of touch my body . i think she did a better job than she did on Saturday night live. she did sing live for the most part , but there were some lipped parts as well. if you all saw the bet show she did a couple weeks ago she sounded really good and it was all live .

Milly… you are so right GIRL. Mariah just needs to chill out, and do what she does n attempt to SING… the YSL’s and DIVA attitude did not get her where she is today. The good life is fabulous… but Mariah is getting beside herself. Her voice aint right this album… or her performances. Cute clothes & accessories though MI MI.
