Behind the scenes video from the set of the Lil’ Scrappy video shoot a few days ago. His boo Diamond (Crime Mob) is featured in the video. Warning: strong language.

I would love to tell you who the female singer is on the track but the folks who answered the phone over at BME Recordings don’t even know if Scrappy is an artist on their label. Talk about clueless.

This is a difficult issue. On one hand, we have a group of people who despise this kind of “money,hoes, clothes, drugs, guns, murder, death, kill” rap. And in some cases, I agree. For some reason, maybe some of us in this ‘older’ rap generation (who remember Big Daddy Kane, A Tribe Called Quest, Kool G Rap, Brand Nubian) haven’t done enough to pass certain values down to today’s rap consumers (at least in ‘our’ community). Somehow, the message that this stuff is just ENTERTAINMENT, or at the very least, a REFLECTION of what might go on in the hood. But it’s just that – ENTERTAINMENT, not reality. It’s a REFLECTION, not DIRECTION. And the young folks have LOST that. If Young Jeezy did what he did and was (and maybe is) still heavy in the “streets,” certainly he wouldn’t advocate going out and trying to do what he did. That’s why you now have disclaimers on EVERYTHING (“Do not attempt”) – I mean, did we really need someone to tell us not to hit ourselves on the head with a hammer because a character in a Bugs Bunny cartoon did it??!!! What the hell happened?? Dave Chappelle had a point – “Keeping It Real” has destroyed our lives and livelihoods.

Now, while some of you may agree, the people that probably MOST need to hear this talk aren’t here to actually read it. We ALL KNOW that there is a LARGE segement of the population who think that this type of stuff is COOL, and it’s what they should work towards. With that in mind, this type of stuff will always be around (But I don’t think we’ll EVER see a rapper swipe a credit card in a chick’s a*s*s cheeks again – that just about DESTROYED Nelly – LOL!!). So we have to look at it as just that – ENTERTAINMENT. I mean really – what kind of person are you if you take the things that rappers say in the song SERIOUSLY and try to live your life by it – THINK ABOUT IT! Come on, now – that’s just STUPID. And so are you if you live your life by what a rapper says in a damn song!

And speaking of stupid – I feel like these young’ns have the whole ‘snitching’ concept BACKWARDS. A friend of mine’s 10-year old son got jumped in the school yard by a group of kids organized by a little boy who had a disagreement with him (and just plain didn’t like him). He was on the ground, getting kicked in the head and came home bruised up. He tried to fight them off as best he could, and when he got to his feet, a girl in the group pushed him back down. Now – the kids all got in trouble and suspended – but the REST of the children in the schoolyard won’t play with him – because they say HE snitched. OK FOLKS – SNITCHING IS WHEN YOU AND YOUR PEOPLE DO SOMETHING THAT’S NOT ON THE LEVEL, BUT THEN YOU TELL ON THEM TO KEEP YOURSELF OUT OF TROUBLE. SNITCHING IS ALSO TELLING ABOUT SOMETHING THAT SOMEONE DID THAT YOU HAD NO INVOLVEMENT IN, BUT YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO GAIN BY GETTING THEM IN TROUBLE – INVOLVING YOURSELF IN BUSINESS THAT DOES NOT CONCERN YOU.

The young’s have A LOT of things F***ED UP!

scrappy is an asshole, we was at the mall and he wouldnt sign anything for anyone. I understand if it was someone like 50 cent but he should have been happy that someone even knew who he was. He was telling everyone to fuck off cause he came to chill not get hounded, there were like 5 people wanting his autograph. Woulda took a few minutes.

Ummm, can we get these ignorant fools some Pell Grants? Because, clearly, they all need an education. Lil’ Scrappy is talking like he is straight out of the cotton fields. He didn’t say anything productive in the entirety of the time that the camera was on his Scrappy-Doo looking A$$. And his girlfriend is a mess too. Why, in 2008, do women keep experimenting with unnatural hair color (even on lace fronts)? She needs to get back to her roots, read a book , and stop cursing so dang on much.
