Barbara Walters throws Star Jones under the bus on Oprah

TV talk show host Barabara Walters appeared on Oprah yesterday to promote her new book. In addition to admitting she had an affair with a brother, Walters said she hated that she and the other women on The View were forced to lie about former cohost Star Jones‘ gastric bypass operation:

Walters says that it was tough for the panelists on the View to lie when Jones refused to discuss her gastric bypass surgery – but she did so anyway. “We had to lie on the set everyday,” Walters told Winfrey. “She was our colleague and she really did not want us to out her … We cared about her, and we thought we owed her.” Instead, Jones told audience members at the time she had lost weight because of “portion control and pilates.” (Source)

Ppl really are not that dumb. It’s funny how you think you are doing the right thing and it back fires. She should have fessed up from the beginning with a footnote. “don’t try this at home”, or don’t do it because it worked for me.

I saw the episode, and Barbara Walters DID NOT throw Star under the bus, she said she was hurt when she left and how it went down. And a couple a months later they had lunch and made peace. She said she wish her the best, and she loves her! Now she threw Rosie under the bus talking about she has MENTAL issues.

did barb really throw star under the bus or did star do it to herself? star put everyone in an awkward situation… they had no choice but to ride w/ her and the bogus lie she put together…star should’ve been more forthcoming and honest since EVERYONE knew what went down…

on a sidenote, barb isn’t an angel either…she cheated w/ a married brother…

I’m happy Star and Barbara made nice with each other…but seriously Barbara was a lil outta pocket when Star was on The View. However, I can understand why she was like that…I mean Star was sitting there promoting her engagment to Big Gay Al like everyday on that show, I know Barbara was like “WHAT THE DUECE????”!!! LOL…

T.Michelle, I’m with you on this one. Babs didn’t throw Star under the bus. She only told the truth about what was happening behind the scenes. Back in the day when people actually watched The View we all watched the pounds melt away from Star day after day only to hear her attribute it to “portion control and pilates”. I distinctly one episode where she said she was so happy she learned “portion control” and that she could now eat anything she wanted. She said if I want I cheeseburger, I eat one. If I want a slice of cake I eat one. I just have to control the portions. We all knew that she had bypass surgery and it really was no big deal. We just wanted her to be honest about it. Due to her celelbrity status she was in a position to help save lives. Instead we got tired of her lives and her “self centered” ways, not to mention that tired courtship to her wife Al. Star signed her own death certificate many years ago. Barbara simply stated the cause of death.

Barbra walters is a hag.a lot of celebrities hide their elective surgeries you don’t see babs talking about her facelifts or the lipo elizabitch does,it was Stars discretion if she wanted to tell ppl the truth and yes she thru Rosie and Star under the bus to sell copies of that haggard book.

I liked Star better fat. Her face looked alot younger. She looks all saggy and haggard now.
