Critics: Carter III is Hot Garbage
I didn’t listen to any of the tracks off the leaked album by Lil’ Wayne in stores today. My opinion of Lil’ Wayne is that he is the worst MC in the history of rap. His voice sounds like nails scraping asphalt. In short, I can do without ever hearing another Lil’ Wayne track.
The critics seem to agree that Lil’ Wayne’s newest offering leaves a lot to be desired:

Honestly, Weezy is an extremely talented MC…he may not talk about the most uplifting things but his litterary skill is undoubtedly superior to most of the rappers in the game. The Carter III is NICE, I had the leaked album and out of respect am going to buy the actual album today…I’m looking forward to Nas’ too July 15th yall!

I love wayne and think he is on another level. he is a lyrical genious. I’ve loved him since his debut with the hot boys. However, I think he is battling a few demons.
Anyways, I still purchased two copies of the album (sidebar 2 of Plies album as well). I really think his album is going to do very well. I went to the store first thing at 10am and there were like 10 other people walking in the door with me to cop the same album. LOL!!!

Frank Ski and Wanda, said that lil Wayne’s CD, is the answer to Hip Hop and praised the CD immensenly this morning. I believe Frank-Ski to be a wonderful source when it comes to music period. (Thanks for turning me on to Hidden Beach FRANK!)
After awhile his voice (not his words) start to grind on my nerves, but I did hear a portion of the CD at a friend’s house. I actually like what he is saying and some of the collaborations are nice. He has matured in his lyrics.

I just got it today…hopefully it will be decent. Personally, I think he coulda saved alot of material he released on mixtapes for Tha Carter III.
Weezy is kind of fallin off right now…some of his recent releases have been horrible (some mixtape songs, that verse on Usher’s “Love in This Club”). I feel like his addiction to that damn syrup is getting outta control…and you can most definitely tell by his latest shyt! Weezy put those cups down sweetie…we are losing you.

I am a die hard old school West Coast gangsta rap fan and don’t really mess with anything else, but I’m really feeling Wayne. He will likely join Game as the only two current MC’s I give my money too. I like his voice, flow, swag and beats.

I like some of his stuff but not everything and I wouldn’t call myself a FAN at all. I will download some songs though or listen to them on imeem.com. Aside from that its TEAM PLIES all the way, his album drops today too. I am purchasing a copy for home, my car and my boyfriend. MMM hmmm .. Team Plies all day. I wonder what his sales will be for hte week. I am sure Wayne will do at least 200k

Still his obvious addiction to that cup bothers me, made me google that stuff and even found him completely out of it on youtube, so I am torn.
