Solange goes OFF on a news anchor who dared to tie her in with Jay Z’s failing establishment (I’m guessing it’s the one in NY where his staff is very unhappy with the Jigga). Solange asserted herself in a professional and mature manner.
She was absolutely within her rights to ask that the interview relate to her album “Sol-Ange And The Hadley Street Dreams” which is in stores now.
This video doesn’t show what set Solange off exactly. But hopefully we will get to see the full video soon.

I interpreted this clip very differently. The anchor handled that professionally well also. Actually, the anchor seemed put off so to me there seemed to be a misunderstanding but I didn’t see where “solange goes off on the news anchor.”
i think i read somewhere that the news anchor tried to get solange to promote something of jay-z’s, or to say his name on the air, and she was very mad. that is rude though, VERY rude, solonge wasnt there to promote jay-z.. thats his and his wife’s job! you go solange!!!!

i think it was in reference to the 40/40 in Vegas…which was just announced it was up for sale and that broadcaster is in Nevada too…
On air/Off air something obviously was said and it set her off . . .glad she has the “balls” to say something.
You know, I am really surprised at Solange. While she is clearly upset with everyone talking about how she is Beyonce’s sister, she had to know that the comparison was going to be made. She was pissed at the Jessica and Ashley comparison. I know it must be difficult and I really like Solange for her individuality, but her backers should have informed her that this would happen and to not show that she is upset about it. The best way for her to distance her talent from her sister’s is to perform well, not only on stage, but also her interviews. You can show people much better than you can tell them.
ummmm, Solange made herself look dumb. Period. point blank. the interviewer tried to recover the situation but she insisted on upstaging the crazy chick at the DNC convention last night for the Dumb Chick of the Week Award.

One of the producers (off the air mind you) wanted Solange to say something about Jay-Z or Beyonce - something along those lines. All the anchor did was read the teleprompter and reference another famous sister act - Jessica and Ashly Simpson.
Solange was just rude and what she did was very unprofessional. This girl has nothing under her belt except a failed first solo attempt and she is trying to redo herself. She needs to remember that as she gets on these press junkets.
She said the intro was unprofessaionl - it wasn’t. Just a standard intro. To me, this whole “alternative” sound is almost just as fabricatd as the one you claim Beyonce has. I mean, we saw the same thing w/ Ashley and Jessica Simpson. Older sis (Jessica) is mainstream - younger sister just has to come out as the “alternative” one to try and make it.
Don’t get me wrong - I like the snippets of music I’ve heard from Solange - but hopefully, she won’t wear out her welcome before she’s even arrived at the main party.
It seems like after they told her it wasn’t on air…she still had a little attitude behind it. Solo…that won’t help…you’ve got to have a thick skin in that busines. As I’ve said before, Beyonce’s not going anywhere, so she’s going to have to learn how to handle the situation a little better. Just saying don’t ask me about them is not going to do it. You’re going to get those slick reporters who are slick enough to slip something in there. She has to learn how to turn it around on them. I actually like how she handled herself in the interview at the festival when the guy is dancing on stage with her. She flipped it on that reporter. She probably was on some chronic nightcap type ish at the time. Solo- smoke a blunt before going on these interviews…it’ll help you mellow out so you won’t be bothered by those questions. LOL.

The anchor personalities are Monica Jackson and the guy commenting off camera is Jason Feinberg of Fox News Las Vegas they hold a very entertaining morning review from 7a-9a in the morning in Las Vegas. Solange really showed her age and immaturity in handling interviews. Now had been a white personality introducing her as Beyonce’s sis or whatever the case was, she would’ve sucked it up and politely let them know how unprofessional it was off camera but her black attitude showed and she felt compelled to go off because the anchor was black. Notice how she shut that big mouth of hers when Jason commented the intro was taped. She needs to go back to the studio because that hot mess she has out now is like her trying to reinvent the wheel, the 60s, 70s, 80s are gone honey, we need something fresh and you ain’t it. Just wanted to say that its not the NY 40/40 they are refering too. Jay has sold the Vegas location for a huge amount of money according to **** and the radio here in Va. I heard just this evening. As for Solange. I think she is alright. I mean cant she and Bey both be great ie.(MJ and Janet) Different, but both great artist.
I really think it’s premature to pass judgment without knowing what was said to Solange prior to going on-air. It’s apparent that whatever was said was offensive to her and she wasn’t made aware that she wasn’t on-air at the time of the statement. I’ll keep my opinion to myself until I have all the facts!!

I have to agree with some of you in the reference of Solange being a bit rude. Her whole demeanor was a little arrogant, and her answers were dry and seemingly memorized. One thing I can say about beyonce is that she has a pleasant demeanor and is inviting to questions, if she choses not to answer she says so in a very respectable way.
