Sanda woman with beautiful hair have been wearing extensions forever. Some do it for volumn some for length. Some like short hair but when needed can add the weave for a different look or special ocassion.

    Welcom Ateya.

Welcome, welcome, Ateya. Thanks for the tips. I’m going to go out and buy the Apophgee (however you spell it) and start taking your advice. I have to perm my hair (even though I’m the only female in Cali who does)and because my hair is so got-damn thick, I have to press it, too. I know that is damaging my hair, but I like to wake up in the morning with my hair falling into place as soon as I take off my silk scarf. :)

    Yup, ‘ppreciate it!

welcome ateya! i ♥ ur vids!

mzsuave…all that hair is a blessing, girl. i know very well what you mean about cali chicks not having perms. when i moved to jersey, EVERY stylist was trying to throw one in my head (simply because they couldn’t press.) trust that u aren’t the ONLY one, though.

    Mzsuave says:

LOL @ #7…I was thinking the same thing, too.

Trulyposh…girl, when I first moved back to Cali in ’98, they tried pressing my hair…my hair said “WTF are yall trying to do?!!” Lol. Every girl’s press out here was silky, not my country hair. I still had a baby fro’ right after a press. :(

hmmmmm please tell me, does beautiful good = good hair ?
    good hair= straight hair ?

well you know i went to college in the 80′s and 90′s and during this time we were public enemy up, poor righteous teacher followers. medallion wearing and krs1 followers. on my hbcu campus, they tried to dispel the image of good hair verse bad hair.

WELCOME ateya!!! your real hair looks nice and healthy. luv it!

and yeah i have really thick hair too @ Mz Suave so i too have to put a relaxer in it or it gets out of control. i tried doin the pressing thing alone and w/no relaxer but my hair does not like fog, rain, humidity or plain ol sweat and my hair would poof right on out of its style, LOL.

Beautiful hair! Too bad all weave wearers can’t make it look that good :-) I don’t see any bumps at all and it matches perfectly! Man you make me want to get one :-P

    trulyposh says:

teecee…my definition of ‘good hair’ is ‘healthy hair!’

i don’t subscribe to the notion that long, curly/wavy hair means that it’s ‘good’ and i absolutely hate it when people (black and non-black, alike) feel the need to comment on the texture of mine. you got some indian in you? what are u mixed with? aarrgghh…that’s a sure fire way for a nigro to get the boot and a heffa to get cussed out. it just urks me the way some of our people are still so obsessed with it…

mzsuave…your hair looks good/healthy in ur pic. so whoever ur going to is hooking u up :)

Welcome Ateeya…I love your wigs demos. I feel your pain. I have superthick curly hair that is super hard to manage without a blowout (which only lasts like a day or 2) and no one understands why I sometimes wear half wigs…

    Keep doing you mama!

Welcome Ateya & thanks for all the GREAT TIPS… I would like to tell you I looked at the video yesterday about all the products she used on her hair. I went and spent $100 on all the stuff including the new big barrel curling iron and hair dryer. I did my hair last night with all her tips and I looked as if I had just left the salon. I will now do my own wash and wrap… The $100 was well worth it. I will now only go to the salon for perms or up do’s…..

Weave always looks better when your own hair is healthy. I was interested to know what method of weave she used. It was so flat that it didn’t look like cornrows.

    msmika31 says:

I agree…Ateya, welcome. I use Aphogee, as well, but I wear my hair molded with extensions on top, so I don’t get to see the benefits of the product. After seeing how beautiful your hair is, I think I might lay off of the weave for a while and doctor on my real hair. Thanks for all the tips!!

Good to know I’ve been doing just about everything right, but I didn’t know about that Dry Touch conditoner to lay down my edges, lol. I’m currently growing my perm out though but the girl that does my hair gets my hair straight and i have about two inches of very wavy, curly new growth. I hope Ateya shows how to take glued out tracks out your hair without damaging your natural hair.

Sandra, thanks for posting Ateya’s videos, and Ateya thanks for your wisdom. When Sandra posted the video a few days ago, I got a chance to watch about 8 or 9 of your other videos. I ordered the Camo pink Chi irons and got some of the products that you used but I couldn’t find the Green Tea products. Nonetheless, my rap hasn’t been tighter, I have been wrapping my hair with both the stocking cap and bandana like you do, the past 3 nights, and bumping my hair the night before with the big irons before wrapping. You saved me a good 30 minutes in the morning. So double thanks!
