ACLU Taps Jermaine Dupri for its Bill of Rights Award

ACLU TAPS DUPRI:
The ACLU of Southern California will fete Jermaine Dupri with its 2008 Bill of Rights Award next Monday (12/8) at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. The IDJ Urban music chief will be honored along with Magic Johnson. Dupri, a long time member of the board of the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network, has worked to repeal the Rockefeller Drug Laws, benefit the Hurricane Relief Fund and been a significant voice on the “Rap the Vote” campaign. Past honorees include Barbra Streisand, Dustin Hoffman, Martin Scorsese, Rosa Parks, Antonio “LA” Reid, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Harry Belafonte, Ellen Degeneres, Oliver Stone and Sarah Jessica Parker, among others.

I work at an eye doctor, those glasses are in. I have a pair myself, not exactly those but that nerdy style. All the designers are making them.

I think they are hot, in a nerdy way, lol!

those are throw back glasses from the 80’s …. dont u remember run dmc and that era ? they use to call them gazelles….

shoot i think had some simular back in the day, not black ones cause those were the poor folks medicaid glasses, i had a pair of gray ones. lol

He is doing big things for such a little man..

The glasses are taking the place of Cazals (sp) hot glasses back in the day but they always reminded me of a nerdy type look. Styles always recycle throughout time. It will take someone really creative to come out with something that someone has never done in the past. Thats why the present everyone jumps on a creative idea a artist may have.

that how you could tell who had real glasses from the eye dr and those from the free clinic. u had a pair of those glasses a lacosta polo shirt with the collar turned up a pair jeans and ur pumas with the fat shoe strings untied of course and u was fresh to death….. kangol was optional, but to me they were for old men. lol damn thats been 20 yrs ago……

The glasses do go back to the 70’s, Kwall. I went down to the basement here at work and I found me some old school Dior and Diane Von Fursteinberg. I’m rocking vintage, ya’ll!

Anywho, I said I was going to be pleasant this morning. Got up got ready for work. Told runaway good morning (as I always do). We got ready without ANY trouble. Told her to eat breakfast and proceeded to bounce. But before I left I looked in on her ONE LAST TIME………keep in mind today was the first day of flurries we’ve had. jr.’s problem we have all decided (me, both grannies, her aunts on both sides) is that jr. is not scared. of nothing. that is alright. other grandma promises she is coming with the scare tactics tomorrow.

she plans to take jr. to the grocery store waaay in the country and leave her little azz there sans cell phone and park around the kona. we have all been instructed if she manages to contact us to hang up on her. she is not stupid so we doubt she will be trying to hitch a ride….granny assures that nothing is there during the day but old retired women and soccer moms. grocery store staff is in on it too. Kwall don’t you just get tired some times. My sister and moms won’t even put take my side……not even once. The day I had to body slam Sr. I left out and drove straight to sister and moms house.

Looked in on Moms. She on the phone waving me off all while mouthin’ (in a whisper) “I’ll talk to you later. I’m on the phone.”

Looked in on sis. She was either playing sleep or playing sleep. She later claimed that she was having “HD TV dreams”. She had just bought a flat screen that morning and had been carrying the TV around the house (while still in the box) like it was a purse.

I got mad and left. Moms called about 20 mins later like “Where you at? Are you still here in the house? Whats up?”.

I said “I left 20 mins ago. I’ll holla back.” LOL
