Singer Jennifer Hudson, who took a hiatus after her family members were killed in a home invasion in October, will return to the spotlight when she sings the National Anthem at the Super Bowl next month.

Hudson will sing before the big game in Tampa on February 1. Which brings up a question. If she can sing at the Super Bowl on Feb 1, why can't she perform at Barack Obama's Inauguration which is less than two weeks earlier?

What's more important?

Well, my well-placed source tells me that Hudson and Obama fell out because Beyoncé was invited to sing at the Inauguration. And as you know, Jennifer isn't feeling Bey right now.

But you didn't hear any of this from me.

  • Sharonda

But you didn’t hear any of this from me.

    ^ From who then auntie!Details!

  • keely107

    That sounds VERY elementary!

  • LADYWOODS

    Sandra,

I dont know about this one. Jennie seems way too classy for that. That is just messy. I think she would handle that a little better.

  • licia

i agree with lady. had it been the other way around i might have believed it .

  • Amulet

    I don't believe this.

If she did fall out with Obama, she can always sing in the shower.

  • Daisy

@licia same page again..lol Took the words out my mouth..lol

  • http://myspace.com/thegameoncw Bird

None of what you just said is true. I will look it up, but if she is singing at the Super Bowl that is news to me. Her camp put out an official statement last week saying her first appearance would be at some low level event in February. I remember that part. It definately wasn't the Super Bowl. Beyonce was not invited to sing at the inauguration by the Obama camp despite her public begging and pleading. She is singing at an HBO event. Anyway, this is hogwash.

  • a_queen81

I think you have to be a fool to "fall out" with the President. I agree that Jenny is too classy for that. And Bey is embarrassing. She practically begged for a spot at the inaguartion while Obama personally invited Jennifer. Bey always has to be in the spotlight, can't stand to let someone else shine.

  • bloggergirlz

    @keely...i agree!

    she said/he said, she did/he did, she mad/he mad...GTFOHWTBS...

  • Daisy

J Huds reps are good about clearing up rumors about her singing and where. So Bird if this isnt true we will know sooner than later.

  • http://myspace.com/necee518 yvonne79

    <------(yawn)...NEXT!

  • iscream

"You didn't hear that from me"... I didn't hear this anywhere else.

@ topic I thought your girl Rhianna was preforming @ the superbowl.

@ Bird while fact checking can you see if MJB is suppose to preform. Wendy said that & I haven't heard that anywhere else. I don't believe it. (Even though I would be happy as heck)

  • licia

i just pray that she is able to bounce back from all the tragedy. i couldn't imagine going through what she is going through .

  • http://myspace.com/lorettadivine DivineBrown

This sounds like petty, National Enquirer/Star magazine shullbit!!!!! Nothing more...

  • Daisy

I know licia all I can say is Bless her heart. I can't even try and imagine.

  • Buttercup417

God Bless Jennifer she has been through a rough time. I wouldn't be surprised that if she was to sing at the Super Bowl that she would cancel. It would be understood.

  • melinla

Didn't I read on a SR post that BeYAWNce (your words not mine) wasn't invited to the Obama bash....

  • http://myspace.com/thegameoncw Bird

Ok, it is correct. The NFL announced yesterday that Jennifer will sing the national anthem. The thing her team announced last week was a charity event that takes place a week after the Super Bowl.

    Iscream

Mary J will be performing at the same HBO event as B.

  • ladilovely

JUST MESSY VERY MESSY SANDRA ROSE. I thought you were trying to be nice this year. I guess you thru them out with the sh$% you keeping on this site.

  • licia

ty bird. jennifer singing will be the only reason i turn the tv to the superbowl.

  • Imalover

I think choosing to sing at the Superbowl is a lot less heavy and emotional occasion than singing at the Inaguration. I'm thinking her decision is based on what she knows she can handle versus breaking down at such an historical event - one her mother probably said that she wanted to live to see.

  • Terry .W

Sandra get back on your meds...your making up S**t again..

  • melinla

Sounds good to me imalover...I'm gonna go with that :)

  • Amulet

Black people know we can keep up some mess.

He'd be better off having some white lady sing at the Inauguration. That day is not about the singer anyways.

  • licia

good points Ima. i never thought of it like that .

  • Hotstuff

    Sandra...postivity in 09...

It was said that Jennifer Hudson declined her invitation.

I thought it would've been a better comeback, but I guess she's not thinking in that way, and can you blame her???

I just would like to know how does Beyonce feels about playing second fiddle to Jennifer, b/c she wasn't announced to be apart of the ceremony UNTIL Jennifer declined.

  • Hotstuff

Sorry I meant to say positivity in 09... sometimes typing 100 wpm can be a curse

  • Daisy

I always watch the Superbowl I loves me some football. I will watch J Hud and Bruce do their thing.

I cant wait to see MJB Sun in DC!

  • Charles

    DIVINE whats up?

  • Charles

SANDRA when you gonna air out the beyonce stans for thinking beyonce is performing at the inagruation when in fact SHE IS NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tell them about her sham concert

  • Daisy

    LOL@Charles

  • iscream

Was it ever confirmed that Jennifer was really asked to sing for Obama's Inauguration? I'm not so sure she turned down the invite. The invite may have never been extended. Her people never said she turned it down they said she wouldn't be preforming.

  • PAGESINADIARY

bey will not be singing at the inaguration. where is your source?

  • KaraZ

Sandra must think we're like other readers of certain gossip sites who believe every tidbit posted.

I doubt that JHud has that rapport with ObamaN to be having falling outs and what not.

  • iyonah

  • carmelita79

  • keely107

    @Iyonah:

What's goodie Charles??? Be on your best behavior and no "readings" today! (lmao)

My list of things I don't care about is rapidly expanding...

  • kcicero

    Don't believe it...

  • MUNCHOSGIRL

I PERSONALLY SENT SANDRA AN EMAIL STATING THAT BEYONCE WILL BE PERFORMING AT AN OFFICIAL INAGURATION CONCERT AS WELL AS AT ONE OF THE OFFICIAL BALLS. YOU CAN GO HERE FOR ALL OFFICIAL EVENTS. THE HBO EVENT IS AN OFFICIAL EVENT, SO BEYONCE WILL BE PERFORMING AT 2 OFFICIAL EVENTS. NOW AS FAR AS HER DEAR SWEET RIHANNA, WELL SHE WILL BE MAKING AN APPEARANCE AT THE KIDS INAUGURAL, THE OTHER EVENT WHERE SHE IS PERFORMING IS AT A CLUB, AND IS NOT AN OFFICIAL EVENT. VISIT THE SITE FOR YOURSELF TO SEE WHO WILL BE WHERE.

  • MUNCHOSGIRL

ISCREAM, I AM WITH YOU ON YOUR STATEMENT...
    iscream Says:

Was it ever confirmed that Jennifer was really asked to sing for Obama’s Inauguration? I’m not so sure she turned down the invite. The invite may have never been extended. Her people never said she turned it down they said she wouldn’t be preforming.

  • Daisy

President Obamas camp said J Hud was asked if she felt up to it. He asked her once I dont see why he wouldnt have asked her again. Either way he never personally asked B, and im not knocking her, or hating just stating the facts, I will jam to her Sun at the concert!

  • MRSJONESK

Did any of you see the preview of Beyonce's new movie entitled "Obsessed"? Here's the trailer. My favorite actor Idris Elba is costaring in this movie.

    http://www.movietrailertalk.com/2008/12/beyonce-knowles-obsessed-trailer/

  • MRSJONESK

    Sandra,
Why are my comments "awaiting moderation"?

  • MRSJONESK

    Never mind.

  • MRSJONESK

I for one am glad to see Jennifer back on the scene. I really like hearing her sing. Her voice is soulful. By the way, did anyone catch American Idol auditions last night? Hilarious!

  • jazi65

Maybe Jen bowed out because she wanted the day to be about Obama and not her comeback.

Beyowulf peforming at "one" of the balls is irrelevant.

  • teecee

well over a billion people watch the super bowl and that will help her career and cd sales which isnt doing so well........Jenifer needs to go some where and sit if she thinks she is as big of a star as bey.

  • MRSJONESK

Beyonce and Idris Elba has a new movie out entitiled "Obsession" you can preview it here
    http://www.movietrailertalk.com/2008/12/beyonce-knowles-obsessed-trailer/

  • Deep Thoughts

I think this is complete media hype. I don't think Obama is foolish enough to have anyone from this generation perform at his actual inauguration unless it's a student who has excelled in some way.

  • iscream

@ Daisy did his camp actually say that or did the media say that. Why is that they leaked her name previous to the announcement of performers and no one else name. BC its probably media hype behind the whole Bey wanting to sing & not calling J Hud when all that stuff went down.

Its smoke and mirrors they have to sell the story.

  • ChokLitFactory

I agree with Bird's comment. Even if Jennifer isn't "Feeling Bey" as you said, why would she turn down performing at a historic moment like the Inauguration?
I heard Syleena Johnson will be performing. If so, congrats to her!!

  • MUNCHOSGIRL

JENNIFER'S CAMP JUST RECENTLY MADE A STATEMENT SAYING THAT THE STORY WAS JUST A RUMOR. ISCREAM YOU ARE THE LOGICAL THINKER. PEOPLE CHOOSE TO BELIEVE WHAT THEY WANT. LIKE I POSTED, BEYONCE, MARY J, ALICIA, KEYS AND MORE ARE PERFORMING AT OFFICIAL INAGURATION EVENTS, NOT JUST SOME EVENTS THROWN TOGETHER, HOW MANY PEOPLE CAME BEHIND MY POST TO STILL SAY DIFFERENT? I LISTED THE OFFICIAL SITE SO PEOPLE CAN SEE FOR THEMSELVES.

  • LADYTEA

    Don't believe this at all...

Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers headline kids' concert
By BRETT ZONGKER – 7 hours ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers are slated to perform on the eve of President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration at a concert for children, and a day later, the Obamas will have their first dance at a ball headlined by Beyonce, Jay-Z and Stevie Wonder.

The Presidential Inaugural Committee announced the talent lineup Tuesday for the "Kids' Inaugural: We Are the Future" concert honoring military families, which will air Monday night, Jan. 19, on the Disney Channel. The Neighborhood Inaugural Ball, which will allow the Obamas to meet some of their new neighbors in the District of Columbia, will be broadcast live on ABC on Jan. 20. It also will feature Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Faith Hill, Alicia Keys and Shakira.

"We are bringing these exciting performances into the homes of millions of Americans to make this the most open and accessible inauguration celebration ever," Emmett Beliveau, executive director of the inaugural committee, said in announcing the lineup.

Obama revealed during the campaign that he listens to Jay-Z on his iPod. And the president-elect's daughters are fans of Cyrus and her Disney show, "Hannah Montana."

Just after the election, Cyrus' father, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus invited the Obama daughters to appear on the "Hannah Montana" show. The Disney Channel issued a statement saying they're welcome any time.

For their part, Beyonce, husband Jay-Z and Blige earned their stripes by campaigning for Obama just before the election in states like Pennsylvania, Florida and Ohio. Obama's win brought Beyonce to tears, she said after the election, and she immediately volunteered to help on Inauguration Day.

"I'm there. I can't wait. I feel like all of us, we're ready to do whatever we have to do. Whatever they want — if they need me to volunteer, they need me to sing, I'm there, and I'm ready," a giddy Beyonce told The Associated Press the day after the election.

  • Daisy

  • Daisy

FYI I stan for AKEYS and nobody else.

  • pinkscorpion

Yeah.. Bey begged to perform. Let someone call YOU, since you're a Diva and all. No need to drop hints in every interview.

  • SMALONE

JENNIFER NEEDS TO BE OUT OF THE SPOT LIGHT FOR ABOUT A YEAR!! SHE NEEDS TO GET HER HEAD STRAIGHT BEFORE SHE CRACKS UP!!YOU HAVE TO HAVE TIME FOR YOUR SELF AFTER SOMETHING LIKE THAT! YOU REALLY CAN'T FOCUS.
