Fading rap mogul Jay Z is feeling the heat from the recent devil worship allegations as well as the brutal Beanie Sigel diss that’s all over the urban bogs.
Normally, Jigga doesn’t respond this quickly to a diss record. The last time Jay was ethered (by Nas), it took him months to respond. But this time Jay had to come back quickly if he had any hopes of saving his rep.
By the way, the new Wale CD — Attention Deficit — leaked all over the Internets this weekend. I love, LOVE his single “Pretty Girls”, but the rest of the CD sounds like a Kanye West ripoff. That’s too bad.
Anyway, please go out and cop Wale’s album on Nov. 10!

I feel conflicted by his response. On one hand I understand what he’s saying from a business standpoint. But it seems that Beanie was speaking more from the heart on the “friendship” level. As I saw in the previous post, for every artist that has spoken out against Jay there is an excuse to follow. Oh this person was lazy, broke, crazy, bitter. What are they doing now (shyt, what are a lot of artist doing now). Now, again when Jay speaks on it it’s about money.
Jay Z is the common denominator in this equation and EVERYBODY can’t be wrong.
And for him to name the different business ventures that Beanie had that failed. I know of many artist who went that route when they got on, is Sean Carter kidding me. Numerous rappers has had a clothing line that has failed. Some with bigger names than Beanie Seagel. FETISH ring a bell to anyone.
I guess Beanie needs to realize that Jay has moved on and that freindship is dead and gone. I don’t know if he is still under contract with The Roc but if he is Jay needs to release him so the man can move on with his life.

Mmm Mmm Mmmm I just watched the Empire state of mind video. Mmmm Jay is looking too good in that video. & I loved the video. I was a little eh about the green screen behind him but overall I thought the video was HAWT.
& I see wifey is doing another Thanksgiving TV special. I will be there looks like it’s going to be good.
I like Wale but a lot of the songs I like aren’t on his album…like Ice & rain,Fly away & letter but the songs I do like that are on his album are Beautiful Bliss(J.cole killed that track)and World tour(Jazmine Sullivan made that record HAWT).
On too Shawn I think there is something deeper to this story because if what he said is true about what he did for Beanie why didn’t he just release him when he had the chance(friend or not) something just ain’t adding up.
I love all music, including hip hop. However, the culture around hip hop is so ridiculous. Ex cons talking slick about who did what and who didn’t do that when they were locked up, yick. Who really gives a?!? The reason you have contracts are to protect your interests. How all of their (hip hop folks) issues go from contractual issues to I thought he was my man….that ish is ridiculous and simple. In Beanie’s interview he said things went down hill when Jay wouldn’t vouche for him to get out of jail. Why would he?!? This man has (unless he’s got some really abnormal existence) family and real friends, why do you need Jay Z to say he’s going to vouche for your whereabouts? I wouldn’t vouche for my co-workers or my employees. I would feel it inappropriate to get involved on that level unless I was REALLY able to account for your whereabouts…that’s the whole point. Same ol’ jail house bitterness. It’s dumb. This is the state of hip hop. Let it be about the music. Just like 50. He’s no longer relevant as an artist so he’s always in a battle with some other artists over foolishness. He’s manufacturing beef to remain relevant. I wish all of these bytches would sit down somewhere.
A lot of these rappers who have actually lived the lives they rap about are naive. Regardless of much a Shawn Carter or a Sean Combs befriends you, this music business is still just that - a business. At the end of the day no matter how much Jigga raps about being close with this Jew or that Jew, you best believe Jigga better have that money that those same Jews put out in order for him to reach whatever level he is on. These YT people aint rubbing elbows with Jay-Z because it’s the cool thing to do…they have some sort of interest at stake and in order for him to continue to prosper, he has to answer to a certain authority. Now if that means putting an artist in a position where they are a lot better off than they were and then cutting the umbilical cord, so be it. I wish I could be in a position where a lot of these rappers are. Somebody has given you a chance to grow as an individual but you don’t take ownership of that and decide to keep living the same lifestyle so you blame everyone else when you don’t get the result you were hoping for. The most important thing I’ve learned as an adult is that if you keep doing the same thing, you’ll get the same results.

I don’t think jay cares about friendship at this point. I think jay cares about jay.
I know beans said that he’s not giving a green light for everyone to make diss records, but i think its a good time to hear from otha artists.

AND NOW George Lopez Late Night show is starting next week with an All-Star type celebrity guest list! REAL Famous & Very popular Comedians CAN GET Big-Time celebrity guests BECAUSE they can clown celebrities UNDER THE GUISE of “Oh I’m a Comedian, THAT’S what we do”
YET Wendy can CLOWN THEM (And Rightfully so…) but it’s very personal to these celebrities and these SAME Celebrities THAT take ISH from the comedians choose to vilify Wendy and boycott her efforts in booking them as guest on her TV show
That’s WHY I NEED Wendy to quit sugar-coating her image and get back to CLOWNING THESE MF-ing Whack-AZZ Celebrities… Her TRUE FANS will respect her more and most importantly CONTINUE to support her regardless of that Water-Down TV show!!! @ E love while I agree 100% with what you said about Wendy her show is a daytime show on network tv (Fox) that BET reairs at night. Monique show is a BET show so that’s likely why Wendy got bumped.
As far as George & Mo getting away with saying things in the past under the guise of comedian. Wendy has spread gossip on celeb’s that can be damaging to their career’s (the gay rumors is what they r saying is the reason for the blackout). But I’m a fan of hers because of her messiness. She is/was Sandra with a mike. Well maybe not as messy. I do agree she needs to stop watering her show down for people who aren’t going to support her anyway. She is losing the bulk of her audience that supported her throughout her radio career.

Great movie! MJ was going to put it down in London. OMG that man was greatness. The cream of the crop. If you all get a chance, check it out. Yes I’m bias but the movie is so worth it. Back on topic: @MsHawthrone you made sum valid points If Beanie is still under contract Jiggles just need 2 release him so they both can move on. I hope that Beanie has learned sum valuable lessons so that he can atleast enjoy the blessings that are govin 2 him, a lot of people are tryin 2 get into the industry and he has his feet in the door. I respect Jiggles hustle but he didn’t get their own his his own i.e. Dame Dash(I can’t wait 4 his book 2 come out that is a must read).
I would actually be worried if I was Jay. Beanie knew Jay from way back so he might have a lot of ammo on him. Not only that, Beanie always used to protect Jay whenever somebody had something to say about him. He already said he know some things that would have Beyonce divorce him.The only thing Jay can do is hold on to his contract and block anything he tries to do. Jay a dirty guy.
I’ve had the opportunity to look at other blogs and get a good views of both pro and anti Jay opinions on this matter and there were some good ones on both ends.
While at first I questioned Jays decisions on not vouching for Beans and not releasing him from his contract…..after someone posting Beans rap sheet, being reminded of how he was on that movie and in Jays MTV diary, and the fact that he DID indeed go back to jail after Jay not vouching for him…I think Jay did the right thing. He can’t vouch for a grown ass man who has a known history PRE THE ROC of wilding out. Some people said that Beans got in trouble for doing dirt for Jay. I call bullchit on that! Beans is a hood nicca. He was doing dirt before he was signed to the Roc.
They say Jay didn’t let him out of his contract because he was going to G Unit. Some people think it was smart of Jay not to let Beans go with 50, some people think it was selfish. I don’t know just yet how I feel about that one, I go both ways.
In the end Beans knows what he was doing when he came out with the track, his Dear John letter, and his stunt at the Philly concert. People are so ready to ride on and hate Jay at any chance they get just like they do his wife and he only added fuel to that fire. If his song isn’t a diss then why go all personal sly snitching on a secret, why throw shade at Bleek, why all the smart comments…GTFOOH.
I’m not team Jay or Beans on this issue because like I said before I think Jays character is questionable BUT I think Beans can’t just try to reflect all the blame of his situation on Jay and needs to look in the mirror at what HE has done and why his in the situation he’s in now.
FINALLY, there are only a FEW sites who have correctly posted the entire QUESTION that Jay answered about Beans. Other sites has did the famous….”this is Jay’s response to Beans”. He was asked a specific question about Beans saying he wasn’t pushed and wasn’t given and he answered THAT question only. Like Jay said who in the hell do you know with a record label, clothing line, 2 Bentleys and can’t even go platinum? People bring up 50 and his girls (Yayo and Banks) BUT he can pretty much claim them as dependents because he’s just taking care of 2 grown ass men. When is the last time they put anything out? He use to take care of Buck and Olivia too..see what happened to them.

No matter how much they say they are, record execs are not friends to their artists and they don’t need to be. Beanie had a good run for himself. He never sold much and Jay kept him on much longer than he should have. Now its time for him to move on. He can still do club dates in his area and make a couple of dollars to supplement a normal 9 to 5. There is no reason to feel sorry for him other than that he seems to have lost what he thought was a friend. Too bad he got the wrong idea.

I’m feeling you on the Wendy topic. I’m missing all kinds of interviews because I just can’t stomach Mo’Nique and I tried reallllllly hard. I was born and raised in the hood and she is too ghetto even for me with all that yelling and calling people baby. She just gets on my nerves to the point that I can’t enjoy the interviews even if it’s someone I like. Hell the cast of my favorite show, The Game, was on there and I couldn’t even watch for that.
Like I said before, these stars can shun Wendy all they want. They are the ones losing the exposure. Ain’t nobody checkin for Mo’Nique AND she’s on BET exclusively which means they are going to have a limited audience anyway.
