Some say ‘Precious’ director Lee Daniels’ diva attitude cost him the Oscar for best director. Daniels took his daughter Clara as his date to the Academy Awards last night (how’s He doin?).

Rapper turned actress Queen Latifah wore this gorgeous satin frock on the red carpet at the Kodak theater in Hollywood.
Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey weren’t up for any awards, but they came anyway. Mariah was top heavy due to her ill fitting boob job. And her platform heels took away from — rather than added to her blue gown.
Actor Anthony Mackie took home the best actor award for ‘The Hurt Locker’ a gritty film about the Iraq war. But before the telecast even began there was drama on the red carpet as two fashion houses claimed to have dressed Mackie. Both Calvin Klein and Burberry sent out press releases claiming to have provided his black tux. But in the end, Calvin Klein retracted its press release since they didn’t even provide his underwear.
Actress/singer Zoe Kravitz attended the Academy Awards with her dad, singer Lenny Kravitz.

I LOVED Gabby on the red carpet last night.
Random people show up to awards shows…Nicole Richie. Zoe K. cleans up well and Zoe S., hmmm. It looks like she couldn’t decide which dress to wear so she chose both. The Queen looks lovely. Mariah toned it down, interesting.
Gabby looks adorable. So does Paula. J-lo & Demi are killing it!!

Lee’s attitude may have and may not have cost him the oscar for best director, but we all know that they are only going to let us win a “few”, not everyone will win. I don’t see why people still feel that Oscars signify that you have made it. I wouldn’t need an Oscar to confirm for me that I have made it.
I can do that on my own. I never really cared for the Oscars anyway. oh well…..

I don’t like what JLO had on, it was the bow that messed up the dress. Nicole Riche did not look good, maybe it’s the dark hair. I did not care for Demi’s dress but she was not nominated for anything so it was no big deal. Zoe Saldana nope, Zoe Kravitz, yes, Queen L, yes, Mariah, nope, Gabby’s dress is beautiful but she looks like she gained weight.

The hubby made a good observation last night. Most of the women from the movie Precious wore blue and the author is Sappire. We were wondering if that was a coincidence or the fact that they all look beautiful in the blue.

…umm wasn’t Paula in Precious, so she should be there. It was nominated for Best Picture. Nicole Ritchie’s man, Joel Madden, was the house DJ for the Oscar’s so she should have been there. Once again, you never put all the facts out Sandra. It’s one thing to have an opinion, but to straight up lie is nuts.
I think Queen Latifah is the perfect size right there. She will never be skinny, cause of her body type, but she looks absolutely stunning. The color of that dress compliments her skin so well.
I am SOOOOOOO glad Monique wore a floor length gown and we didnt have to see her beastly legs last night. I don’t know why she thinks all that wooly hair is cute.
I think JLo and Sandra Bullock had the best dresses on of the night. Absolute perfection.
Zoe and Lenny look cute. Gabby looked nice last nice as well. At first I hated Zoe Saldana’s dress, but it has grown on me a lil bit.
Lee Daniels isn’t on the down low. He’s openly gay and two children (a son and a daughter) that he’s raising with his partner. As for the fashions, I don’t like Gabby’s dress. I know her size limits what she can wear, but that dress is very matronly. Queen Latifah looked amazing from head to toe. The best dressed from last night was Cameron Diaz, IMO.
I wasn’t aware that only people who were nominated were allowed to come. Paula was in Precious and the film had multiple nominations including Best Film. So she kinda was nominated. Shar know she stay up in those gift suites. I ain’t mad though. I’d be there too if I were her.

Anthony Mackie wasn’t nominated for Best Actor award, his costar Jeremy Renner was. Anthony Mackie DID however win because The Hurt Locker won best picture.
Everyone who appears in a best picture nominee for the Oscars are invited to attend…hence Anthony, Paula, Sherri, etc.
Lee Daniels didn’t win for best director because there were 2 people going head to head as front runners and NEITHER were him.

Monique explained why she wore blue in the press room after she won the award. She wore a blue gown and the gardenia in her hair because it’s the same color gown and flower that Hattie McDaniel wore when she won her Oscar.
and as much as i love Gabby, i want her to lose weight. she looks “tight” which makes me think she has a medical condition that contributes to her excess weight and it’s not just the result of overeating/lack of exercise. the gown was beautiful and would have worked in several colors because of the style and fabric. but onscreen, it looked like her foundation was too dark.
i loooooved Zoe Saldana’s dress although i didn’t think the top matched the bottom. Nicole Richie’s dress looked too old for her but I love the brown hair on her with those huge, beautiful brown eyes. Monique was glowing and i’m sooo happy for her win. J Lo was flawless as usual and Demi is looking younger every year.

The show was great last night but about an hour and a half too long. Some of the introductions to the awards should’ve been shortened down.

i agree about Zoe’s dress. I loved the color and texture of the bottom but that top didn’t match. it was like the designer ran out of fabric and all he/she had was that glittery mess and stuck that at the top. either the whole bodice should have been the glittery fabric (with more purple glittery texture) or he should have continued with the lilac fabric all the way up
