LisaRaye’s Philosophy On Life, Marriage and Money
In a revealing interview with UnsignedTheMagazine.com, actress LisaRaye gave a little more insight into her recently broken heart, her philosophy on life, making amends with her ex- husband, the former premier of T&C Islands; and her strained finances.
LR described her current status as “so on the market”:
You’ve got to do something different and step out on faith. You cannot bring your old baggage into something new. Learn from that, move forward and give love a chance. Love is a wonderful thing, it’s very powerful. I’m a fan of marriage, I’m a fan of belonging to someone and I would love to belong with someone because it’s easier to fight life with a partner than not. Someone to have your back, bounce ideas off of, to encourage you and build you up, someone that’s ultimately your best friend.
Her philosophy on life and her finances:
“Prayer, and failure is not an option. I love life, I love living life, and I love laughing. I prefer to look at the glass as half-full instead of seeing it as half-empty and trust this, I had my ‘Lord Have Mercy’ Fund off to the side. That’s the money that you need to have when it gets bad, but I’m still in this economy like everyone else thinking about, ‘okay, where’s the money coming in?’ My reserves are dwindling down, so that is why I’m back to business, back to doing me, back to my career, so I’m very grateful that I have an opportunity and a place to return to, that my fans are telling me ‘we want to see you on the big screen, we miss you, welcome back.’ And that speaks volumes to me.”
What the 42-year-old Diva didn’t touch on in this interview was her (failed) reunion with her 20-year-old daughter Kai’s father.
He was the mystery man that I told you LR was dating earlier this year. LR and Kai’s father were an item until a few months ago. Earlier this year, he was scheduled to fly into Atlanta’s Hartsfield airport with LisaRaye.
My photographer was set to capture the exclusive photos of the two lovebirds together as they arrived. But unfortunately, things didn’t work out.
LR refuses to talk publicly about why her 2nd attempt at love with Kai’s father didn’t work out. Their rekindled relationship will be the focus of the 2nd Season of The Real McCoy.

I love how she makes it seem like she can get back to the big screen whenever she wants to. You still have to audition and do acrobats like the next chick. She has started to irk me recently, like really really irk me.

True but you gotta think TVOne doesn’t have a roster of hit shows so it wont take much for a show on there to be renewed for a 2nd Season. I am partial to Unsung…..I do like that show!

LR you are a pretty face that had a role in a movie and not an award winning role but a role for shaking your ass. I don’t remember any big screen movies….Players Club and the Wood are the only theater releases I remember and they weren’t big box Office hits. I don’t like her as an actress. I swear the way she act is the way average everyday females from the Chi talk…

I totally agree. I never heard of the place where she was the first lady. I don’t think she is that good of an actress to get all the shine she is getting maybe im wrong 
I’m glad she got a second season, but I hope this isn’t the spiraling downward of TV One!
After watching her show, I’ve come to the conclusion that some people just dont’ know any better, and Lisaraye is one of them.
Her intentions OVERALL (to be a a success) seem good, but her platinum-digging tactics about going about them are

When I think of LisaRaye I don’t think celebrity, movie star or icon. None of her roles have shown amazing talent in any sense of the word.

Where are these fans that she claims are begging for her back on the big screen. Of all the “movies” I named weren’t all but one straight to DVD? She doesn’t want people to think she is a gold digger but she proclaims in the intro to her show she is a Platinum Digger.
Wouldn’t you have to deal with a platinum status MAN to be a platinum digger? Clearly a PM with the inability to control his own finances but the ability to “swindle away” yours is not platinum status. IMO

i liked lisa in all of us and i think she is a good actress. Unfortunately in hollywood when you get up there in age they dont hire you for many roles unless you have an impressive resume and The Players Club and All of Us probley wasnt enough to shake a tail at soooo she got to get that dough else where.
