fanMAIL: Is Janet Jackson serious with these ticket prices?

Pop Diva Janet Jackson, 44, announced her intimate concert tour on Monday (Jan. 3). Janet will play smaller venues and allow her rabid fans the opportunity to choose the songs she performs.

But all of that intimacy and privilege comes at a steep price that most fans simply can’t afford.

Miss Jackson’s “Up Close and Personal Tour” kicks off in Houston, Texas, on March 4. She will play 20 dates in 14 states. The ticket prices range from $122 for the nosebleed section to $600 for prime orchestra seats.

Hey Sandra,

This is NEVESNANNA. Hope all is well with you. (Happy New Year). Question…and answer…because your opinion is important :-) ….Is Janet Jackson SERIOUS WITH THESE TICKET PRICES? I went on line to look at purchasing tickets for her show when she comes to DC … IS SHE SERIOUS WITH THIS SHYT? The least expensive ticket is $122.00 and its damn near on the ROOF of Constitution Hall!

Excuse me but these ticket prices are way too high for a stiff performance. I love BEY and wouldn’t pay that much to see here and I know she would put on a better show :nono: those prices need to be adjusted ASAP. Only crazed stans would pay that much.

Some things you NEVER forget…and I will always remember my baby daddy making me stand out in the RAIN to see Janet in 1994…WHY? Cause she was at the amphitheatre(ie outside) here and HIS words “I paid $125 for us to be here…we STANDING out here…”

So if LAWN seats were approx $60 apiece in 1994…how much are seats supposed to BE in 2011? Just asking…

    I wouldn’t pay $122 now either but still…

Really wanted to see Janet. Saw her once in concert a while back and she was amazing but with just getting past the holiday season, can’t justify those ticket prices, especially since I would have to convince my sis to do the same, not feeling going to a concert solo.

:claps: Thank you. You all have to remember what site we are on. You have to do your own research. Did anyone else try looking up the prices for themselves rather than going off of what Sandra, I mean this “fan” is telling us?

    Destinee says:

Well her tickets are $75.00 her in Houston because she will be playing for the Houston Live stock and Rodeo. They go up to $465

  27. 27
    jazzyiest says:

    @ LILRED

Those are probably brokered seats the “fan” is talking about. I was thinking Janet had to be smoking some of that good stuff to try and make people pay $600/ticket. The prices you listed seem more accurate.

Plus, I just read Kingstonn’s comment and if she’s performing here in Houston at the rodeo they typically never ask more than $40 for those tickets. I reallly think they only want $20. So, this “fan” must be trying to go through a broker.

  28. 28
    Phillybruh says:

Thats not true, the ticket prices for the Borgatta the highest is 135.00 so I know that those ticket prices are a broker site, Janet has never been outrages with her ticket prices.

If you log onto the LINK that Sandra posted…it’s the DAR Constitution Hall website, and click on her show and ticket link, the ticket prices are THERE. That’s where I found them. So maybe Constitution Hall is scalping tickets….

I hate when people put out false info just to get attention, If your not a fan why do you care. You cannot buy tickets via the constitution center they direct you to ticket master which has the highest ticket at 145 the cheapest at 95.00 http://www.dar.org/conthall/tickets.cfm

Those ticket prices could be from some third party vendor who always up the prices so they can get a nice cut. There’s always a big difference here when you look up prices directly at the box office where the event is going to be at vs you looking them up online, where everybody and their moma is selling them at a much higher rate.

Saw Janet at the Velvet Rope tour in 1996 (I think- I still wear my concert t-shirt all the time as a bed shirt), and my mama paid about $90 for my ticket then and we were in the middle mezzaine.

JANET….WORKED!! She EARNED every bit of the money she got in that arena that night, honey! If her tickets are REALLY going up to $600, I don’t blame her! I’d pay up to about $400 to see her. After all…I did spend $300+ to sit on a the floor (8 rows back) at Bey’s B’Day concert so Janet….can definitely get my money!

Well for DAR Constitution Hall here in DC, the ticket prices on livenation start at $68 and the highest is $148 and that doesn’t include tax and fees. I don’t see anything above $180 so IDK where people are getting these prices from. Perhaps if they go to a legitimate ticketing website, the prices wouldn’t be so high. *sips tea*
