Journalist apologizes for misspeaking about Obama’s birth certificate
A celebrity journalist apologized yesterday for alleging that Hawaii’s new governor told him he couldn’t find U.S. President Barack Obama’s birth certificate on file.
Mike Evans told FoxNews.com on Wednesday he was remorseful and embarrassed that he appeared to have given the impression that he had discussed the search for Obama’s birth certificate with Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie.
Evans, who says he has been a close friend of Abercrombie since the 1980s, appeared on Minnesota’s KQRS radio last week and said he’d been told by the governor himself that Obama’s birth certificate was nowhere to be found. Evans told KQRS on Jan. 20:

A ture journalist would do the “Dan Rather” and announce their retirement for not doing their own research.
Some publication out there (didn’t bother to find out WHICH one reported this) has a TERRIBLE news research department.
This is not the fault of the journalist. It is the fault of his or her news research department and their editor. I can write a story right now with all KINDS of factual errors. It would be MY fault for not doing my homework yes…but there are supposed to be checks in place for them to be caught.

Steve Harvey’s wife can sue his ex for defamation of character but, a Journalist gets a pass even if the lie was towards the President????

I wish to never be directed to the Fox News site again! So it was OK for Bush to have steered this country towards rock-bottom without a whisper of impeachment, but then we have people *still* questioning Obama’s citizenship while he’s trying to fix 8 years of damage.
