Group: McDonalds Beating Victim Was a Transgendered Woman

A Baltimore, Maryland LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) group confirms that the beating victim in a viral video filmed at a Baltimore area McDonalds, was in fact a transgendered woman.

Police say the incident occurred on Monday, April 18, inside a McDonalds franchise restaurant at 6315 Kenwood Avenue, in Rosedale, MD. A video uploaded to YouTube and re-posted on Worldstarhiphop.com, showed two black females stomping and pummeling the 22-year-old transgendered woman outside the women’s restroom. The unidentified transgendered woman was white.

Witnesses told police the fight started after the transgendered woman refused to leave the woman’s restroom.

As the beating unfolded in front of McDonalds employees — who, for the most part, stood around and did nothing — one employee, identified as Vernon “Charm” Hackett, 18, pulled out his cell phone — not to call the police, but to film the action so he could upload it to his YouTube account.

The model citizen, who has worked for McDonalds since 2009, posted this account of the violence on his facebook page Friday afternoon:

I called the McDonalds store yesterday and spoke with a nice young lady who told me that Hackett’s employment status with the restaurant was “currently under review,” indicating that he might be suspended or fired.

Maryland police later arrested the two teens, ages 14 and 18. The 14-year-old will be charged as a juvenile, while charges are pending against the 18-year-old.

Though the violence on the video is brutal, and appears to be without provocation, legal experts say prosecuting the two teens based on the evidence won’t be so cut and dried.

If this is a case of a 22 year old man entering a bathroom while a 14 year old girl was using it – get ready for a legal showdown. Any sleazeball criminal defense attorney will have enough facts to argue for a dismissal. I am sure the two girls have already been called by attorneys willing to take the case pro bono, trying to make a name. LGBT rights will spend more time on trial during this soon-to-be circus than the girls will. Still, all must agree that the assault, without a doubt, is heinous.

Everytime I see some $hit like this, I immediately believe that these are the girls who were taught that “boys don’t hit girls”.

I hate that $hit with every fibre of my being because it trains girls to think that they can run up on a man, hit, kick, slap, spit and push and he isn’t supposed to respond because they remember their brothers getting into trouble for hitting them back – they don’t understand that everybody isn’t going to accept an ass kicking and there are a few men who will draw back and knock your teeth loose.

They just happened to run upon a white, transgendered male who was also a “punk”… I’m willing to bet that had they tried that $hit on some black transgendered, they would have been carried out of that restaurant on a stretcher.

Choose your battles, people – stop believing that, because you are a woman, you have license to hit men and expect to walk away from it. One day, you’re going to end up surprised.

Wow these facts change my opinion of the incident entirely. I haven’t seen the video, I don’t like to watch violence but my support now leans towards the girls. A man has no business in a women’s restroom. He was asked to leave and chose not to. He instigated this entire incident.

Clearly at least TWO rational adults in here today, because obviously some people believe that a woman gets to use the men’s restroom free and clear because she has “different body parts”, but a man can’t use the women’s restroom because HE has different body parts, so he deserves to get beat up. Ironically, if he was transgendered, doesn’t he have some of the same body parts as the women who fought him, and if he fought them back like a man with breast and done some serious damage – which I secretly wish he would have – would the sentiment be the same?

At the end of the day, if my original question was, “IF A WOMAN GOES INTO THE MENS ROOM AND IT’S OK, but a MAN GOES INTO THE WOMEN’S ROOM and it’s NOT…. what’s the difference?

And to compare women using the mens room, I would bet bottom dollar they enter those restrooms alone and LOCK the door behind themselves until they are done. I don’t think anyone is saying that it was OKAY for him to use the womens bathroom. I think majority of the people on here are saying that beating him wasn’t right. Im against violence so that’s why I feel they shouldn’t have beat him. After reading the story on other blogs I never heard any of them mention that they trans put HIS HANDS on them in the bathroom, just that he was being a smart ass. Unless he were to put his hands on them in the bathroom they weren’t justified in beating him. I guess transgendered males and females should just use the bathroom before they leave home. If you’re a transgendered man using the bathroom in the mens bathroom you’re liable to get jumped by straight men cause we know their not having that and if you use the womens bathroom you’re gonna get funny looks from the women (unless you look like a real woman). That’s the end of it all… if a man can’t go into the women’s room… then a woman can’t go into the men’s room. You can’t make up the rules as it becomes convenient for you.

If a woman is in the men’s room and a man has a problem with her – report it, you don’t get to fight her.

If a man is in the women’s room and a woman has a problem – report it, you don’t get to fight him either.

Because when it’s all said and done, if a man was beating the $hit out of a woman in the ladies room, NOBODY would be asking, “what he said to her in there…”

Cosign Lipstick in that people should use their assigned bathrooms. He had no business being in there neither would a female in the Men’s. However, those scenarios are not the same. Men and women are not the same and don’t present the same issues by being in the wrong bathroom. I highly doubt any man is in fear for their safety when a women in their 20’s (whatever the typical age of women at club) at a club goes into a men’s room. Whereas, a man going into a bathroom with a 14 year old girl present can be frightening. While both situations are wrong they are not the same thing and cannot be equated. The club scenario does not work with this incident.

Carrington your post fails because you don’t account for the fact that men and women are different. You switch the genders yet expect the outcome to be the same, sorry it isn’t. A man going into a bathroom where a girl is present (in this case 14) is not the same as a grown woman in a club going into a bathroom where grown men are present. In one scenario everybody’s grown in the other one’s an adult and one’s a child. Two, as I previously pointed out men on average have more upper body strength than women. A women in a men’s bathroom does not present the same issue (safety) as a man in a bathroom with girls. Sorry it’s not the same, your club scenario doesn’t fit.

Everyone keeps saying management didn’t get involved in the situation. Who was the guy in the blue shirt then? It seems to me he did try to help out, but the girls kept coming back. I would have stepped back too, he did his good samaritan thing for the day. I know several people that tried to break up fights and ended up dead. I wouldn’t advise anyone to put someone else’s life ahead of theirs unless it’s a family member or close friend

Wow, the fact that the victim is transgendered doesn’t change my opnion about the behavior of these two young women. If we laid hands on everyone who did something that we found to be unacceptable, our prisons would be bursting at the seams. I’ve read articles elsewhere that said the women (transender) said to the girls “Then where am I supposed to go to the bathroom?” Now everyone who initially watched the video before the victim’s identity came out thought it was a girl. So how would have looked at he been in the men’s bathroom?

Bottom line those hoodrats should have minded their own business. I feel bad for the victim and others currently transitioning. They have to use the bathroom just like everyone else. What those girls did was brutal, callous and tragic. They will get theirs one day. There’s always someone one bigger and batter you willing to teach you a lesson.

No words for the staff. I understand getting involved can get your killed these days but they should have locked the door when the girls left the first time or taken the victim to the back of the restaurant. Well I just heard on the news here in New York this morning that Mickey D’s fired the dude who shot the video; he had been working there since 2009. I say good riddance to his azz! I could careless what anyone says anytime you decide to put your hands on someone you run the risk of getting hurt. Those two hoodrats in that video were LUCKY! That situation could have easily had a different outcome… If I had been in the store I would have intervened and demanded that somebody called the police. That transgender might have a right to sue being that one of their employees basicaly instigated the incident with his cellphone instead of trying to stabilize the fiasco. And can you all believe that the chubby attacker is only 14 years old? Freaking disgusting!

People don’t know the difference between transgender and transexual. A transgender person feels like they are in the wrong body, if you asked (him), he probably doesn’t feel like he was a man. A transexual, has had the surgery and is now the “opposite sex”. If the man, was transgender, he has not had the full surgery and still has guy parts. I don’t condone what they did, and he probably felt like that was the safest bathroom for him, imagine him going into the men’s restroom. If he couldn’t handle a 14 girl, what was he going to do with a grown man

I doubt seriously if the transgender went into the men’s bathroom he would have been attacked like that UNLESS he attempted sexual advances towards some unsuspecting soul; that’s different! Worst case scenario the transgender would have cleared out the place… maybe someone would have complained to the manager on duty. Why spit on someone? Who in the hell do you think you are? When it comes to our transgendered individuals, what bathroom is the “right” bathroom? Last time I checked McDonald’s, Burger King, Taco Bell or Zaxby’s for that matter, none of these restaurants have bathrooms with the “TRANSGENDERED” title on it. So I ask again, what bathroom was this person supposed to use? Hopefully a hate crime charge will be added to the list of charges.

As much as I didnt want to comment on this post I will…… CLEARLY the girls are in the wrong…. Not once did the employee say the “woman” being assaulted ever put their hands on the two girl thugs…. What was said was it was found that he was a man dressed as a woman and was asked to leave the bathroom and he didnt…. SO let’s do this and do it right…. Because he didnt leave they (girl thugs) decided that they would start something… And it resulted in a brutal beat down…. Yea we can say she’s a he and shouldnt have been in the bathroom… But no one ever asked how did they find out that information… there are too many holes in the story… Sorry those heifers should be thrown under the damn jail… And the employee should be fired! How do you know the restroom wasn’t clear when he went in? For all we know it could have been, and the two females could have came in after he did. And I seriously doubt they asked him to leave nicely. But that doesn’t even matter, rather he was wrong or right to use that restroom, the point is, you don’t take matters into your own hands like that, especially over something so minor. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

However, if he hasn’t had the surgery to officially convert to being a woman he needs to be using the men’s restroom. I’m just thinking if my daughter was in the bathroom and a guy was in there transgender or not I wouldn’t not be happy at all. If you want to be transgender fine but please be respectful of other people. Use the correct restroom. Nobody deserves to be brutalized so the girls were wrong w/o a doubt but so was he. Let’s look at the whole scenario not just a portion of it. They were all wrong!
