Hi Ms. Sandra, I hope you’ve had a marvelous week! I’m contacting you because I have a few words to share with you, if you care to read.
I’ve been a fan of your blog for a while now because I sincerely value your opinion and your writing style. But, I have to say that over the past few months you have only been able to hurt my heart so much only because I love your site so dearly.
It’s no new fact that you and many people are no big fans of Beyonce, but lately your attacks against her seem more spiteful and hurtful from a deeper place. In NO way do I mean to criticize but you being a successful African-African woman, I don’t see why you have to spend so much of your time hating her and praising Kelly when both are supportive of each other, beyond what the media recognizes. I don’t want to spend my time defending her but I just don’t understand why she receives so much hate from SR. Beyonce has even promoted Kelly’s album and she still receives spite.
Only because of you did I purchase Kelly Rowland’s album this past Wednesday, but if I had read the crtics’ reviews first I certainly would not have. The album is very shallow and almost every song is about sex; no growth or originality like the critics said…so I gave it away to a friend on Thursday. I will continue supporting Kelly because I want her to be successful but in no way can she become an international “superstar” with this album or her one hit. Only a London superstar as you said.
I love you sister and I hope you weren’t offended by this message but as a loyal reader, I had to share this with you as I find myself drowning in hate when I visit SR nowadays.
I’m praying that God gives you a softer heart and that you sow more seeds of positivity. Even though you have thousands of other readers, I’m going to take a short break from reading your site for a while for a mental cleansing.

I actually don’t think you were that bad with the bey and kelly thing to be honest….you have your moments with other things ie. the president, but this wasn’t one of them. Maybe its because I’ve been here along time and seen you’ve go much harder
Anyhoo, I didn’t buy kellys album, and have no intentions of buying it either….and no i haven’t bought bey’s either.
These fanmail and loyal reader letters are ridiculous. maybe this reader is not registered or something but if you are why not just post a comment. Why does it get you so upset that you have to write a letter? And why would you think Sandra would care? Anyway anybody click my link yet?
Ummm Aunti Sandra you are a Beyonce hater sorry … I purchased both cd and I was never really a fan of Kelly but I support black women trying 2 do something and I really don’t understand how so many people hate on Beyonce and this girl as done Soooooooo much over her career I feel she can shouldnt never be hated on … We need 2 build each other up instead of tearing each other down it’s sad!

kelly’s album too shallow mostly about sex? uhhhhh….what did she expect? kelly came from destiny’s child. that’s all what they mostly sang about. and the last time i checked, one of the reasons why beyonce is so successful is because she knows how to sell sex well.

I actually applaud you Sandra for posting this letter. Its very true that you go in on Beyonce and uplift Kelly for no apparent reason sometime. At the end of the day we as black women should be proud because both of these are successful and making money.

ehhh, I can understand why she wrote it directly to Sandra and not put it on the blog. For one, it was generally for Sandra and as apologetic as it sounds, it seems like she was scared of being banned. Either way, yes Sandra does go hard, yes it seems too damn personal at times, but she’s our cantankerous auntie and everyone has one

I love how Sandra Rose is able to post good and bad letters whether they are critical of her or not.
I also noticed that alot of stans are hypocritical as stated by another poster. They will knock down everyone else but will act like Bey is all that. They are also quick to call you a hater when you disagree or dislike something as well. They need to get it together.

i do think that sometimes aunite sandra u crossover from constructive criticism to deep hatred very fast when it comes to beyonce. You dont have to love her but you have to be honest. I almost became scared of u around the time her album came out, u were so full of hate. like you were praying for her to fail, and thats never good vibe to give to your readers.
I agree when you talk about several things regarding her eg about her tendency to oversing songs but you also make stupid comments like the other day you said kelly was now bigger than bey when beys BTINH had has charted higher than motivation on the hot 100, and bey has over outsold kelly more three times this go
You also said her album had tanked when its the 3rd highest debut of the year and is already set to outsell britney,chris brown etc in just 5 weeks.
I am no stan myself, i am here for janelle monae, but learn to give credit when its due. What you do is like me going around lying that your blog is not one of the best urban blogs around when everyone know you are very successful at what u are doing

There is a fine line, and to a certain degree, I think people that come here appreciate your sense of humor. You rack my last nerves when it comes to Obama, but I’m still a fan, because people don’t have to agree with each other on everything, just keep it factual. Much love.

Im Wit it. I noticed that too. Alot of Beyonce and Jay-Z H8. When i joined all that is talked about is negative things. Her husband needs viagra and all that. How do we know, and if he does so what? Thats their business. Why does Beyonce now, need to prove something. She has proven that she is a successful black woman who is basically ahead of the game. I dont understand why she has to prove something to Kelly “all of a sudden.”
