In Case You Missed It: Basketball Wives: LA, Ep 8 (Full video)
“Basketball Wives: LA” cast member Gloria Govan recaps BBW LA, episode 8, in case you missed it.
Regarding Jackie Christie’s apparent obsession with all things Draya, Gloria writes:
It’s nice to see Jackie, who has been in the game for so long, take Draya under her wing and show her the ropes in terms of business. But things take an UGLY turn when Jackie’s gossiping becomes tiresome. Her constant rant about Laura is becoming overwhelming. Why she doesn’t just approach her and talk to her about it is immature and childish. Their problems could have been solved ages ago if Jackie would tell Laura how her feelings were hurt, but instead she dances around it and vents to everyone else.
While Gloria and Matt Barnes are in the Bay area for their sons’ Christening, Gloria muses about getting married to the Lakers bench player. But she wisely decides to wait until he’s done sowing his wild oats. Back in LA, Govan dons sexy lingerie for a photo shoot, and Matt is so turned on he takes a bite out of her butt cheek.
Draya’s son, Kniko, and her mom, Valerie, visit from Philly. Draya takes them to the beach for some quality time. Draya discusses moving her mom and son out to LA to stay with her.
Govan also writes about Malaysia and Jackie’s business ventures:
We are all working on our own business ventures. Malaysia has her 3 Beats, a jewelry line for kids, Draya has her upcoming bikini line, Jackie has her clothing line, and I have Headbangers accessories. One of the things we all have in common is the want to stand on our own as individuals and become entrepreneurs.

I don’t think the show is entirely scripted. Yes, I’m sure they set up scenarios for the ladies to participate in as well as arranging it in terms of making it “juicy”.

I really like Draya and Malaysia, they seem like the two with the most sense.

I must say I did laugh when she told Malaysia that “she needed to be there so that she can pick her face off the ground” in reference to Laura. Jackie is certifiable and needs to be locked up in a padded room somewhere. Doug is probably afraid of her that’s why he is so timid. I agree with that when you doing know where it is going. But I also think that 3 year rule should only be after a certain age and/or kids. Gloria is my age. I don’t know how long she’s been with Matt (I think they shouldve been married by now just because they obviouosly thought enough of each other to have kids), but their relationship probably wasn’t even a real relationship until maybe 2-3 years ago.
I’ve been with Mister for 7 years, but I’m only 25 and he 27. We were 18 and 20 when we got together and honestly, for the first few years- although we thought we were in a real bona fide realtionship, it was childs play. Up until I was about 23, and he about 25- we ain’t have a damn clue what we were doing or what being real “adults” in a relationship consisted of, let alone did we have a clue about what a marriage would take or determining how to know if someone was even RIGHT for marriage.
I think that may be where Gloria is (considering she’s my age) with Matt but the children came first. I think that any “relationship” before 23 is not a REAL relationship because you are clueless and the maturity you THINK you have is not all there. So after 23 for women and 25 for men- more than 3 years and I agree with you, you’re wasting time. Before that, is highly debateable.

Denver the Last Dinosaur had all that mouth to Draya, but in Ogre’s face, she was dang near deaf mute. I think Dishrag(Imani) is the one calling different women in the cast and telling them that the other said this or that. Then when Dishrag gets around that person she adds her two cents in. Chompers(Malaysia) comes across as fake, but she was raised in the L.A. area where people befriend you and stab you in the back daily.

I wonder what Jackie Christie will say to defend herself…after viewing the show, The show depicts her in such an antagonistic, insufferable light. Will she blame it on the editing department like most reality starts do?
Am I the only one somewhat disappointed in the LA Cast. They are so much older than the Miami cast….well in appearance anyway they seem to be older…specifically Jackie and Imani…But
I am disappointed mostly in a lot of things Jackie has said and done this season. I was extremely disappointed that she didn’t take on more of a mentoring and or supportive role with Draya.
She and Imani have children issues….Imani gave up her parental rights to her older child..because the baller she was trying to marry really wasn’t a fan of children. And Ta’kari is putting Jackie on blast constantly…
Both these women had an opportunity to invoke wisdom on a young woman who was very open and eager to listening to them and being their friend.
Mrs. Christie, I hope that you sit next season out, before you or the “EDITITNG DEPARTMENT” does anymore damage to your public image.

Imani is a grade A hater. And we all can see why. Her day has been over 20 years ago. She is old and fat, and not cute. She is another one that’s so jealous of Draya she can’t see straight. she is trifling for having someone else raise one of her kids…All while judging another woman about her parenting skills. Imani doesn’t even look like she belong on this show..In fact, all these broke down tricks look like a joke. I thought ball players had better taste than this. This is ridiculous how old, fat, and nasty these women look. I mean they are sooo unattractive it’s unreal.
Malaysia is two faced and got big rabbit teeth. She is a bit scary at times, and then sometimes want to get buck. Her personality is weird. Although unlike them other fat tricks, Malaysia would be so cute once she looses all her baby weight. You can tell she got a cute shape and her face is really pretty. Though i wish she get them teeth shaved down a bit…looks like she eats raw carrots all day with them teeth.
Draya is a doll. PERIOD. She is pissing off ugly tricks all over the world right now. I love that she takes care of her family the way that she does.
