Studio singer K. Michelle is relieved that she can drop the title “mixtape singer” from her résumé. The 26-year-old mother of 1 announced her new record deal with Warner Brothers on her Twitter page Monday.
It isn’t clear if K. Michelle is bedding the recording executive who signed her. As you may recall, the last executive who signed K. Michelle to a record deal (MempHitz) lived up to his name by slapping the taste out of her mouth whenever she got loud or stepped out of line. Neither the record deal nor their relationship ended very well.
As a singer, K. Michelle lacks the charming personality and the vocal chops to be great. The Love & Hip Hop Atlanta cast member was signed to Jive Records in 2008 and to RCA records in 2011. She was dropped from RCA due to her lack of discipline and erratic (read: deranged) mental status. The last album she recorded never saw the light of day. We have no confidence that things have changed since then.

IMO, her and KeyCo have nothing in common, but maybe the pain they may have experienced that they both have put into music.
I like K. Michelle, and I definitely like the music that she has put out. If she doesn’t go platinum, so what. There are tons of bad azz artist that don’t go platinum, but have a huge fan base because their music is fire. I personally feel there are a lot of great underground artists that are ten times better than some of these mainstream artists.
