Disgraced former Subway Pitchman Jared Fogle was on the FBI’s radar for four years, according to an FBI informant.
Fogle, 37, will plead guilty to possession of child p0rn and soliciting underage girls for sex. Fogle’s victims were as young as nine.
Rochelle Herman, a former Florida reporter, told CNN she wore a wire for the FBI.
She said she called in a tip to the FBI when Fogle told her “middle school girls are hot.” Her tip led to Fogle’s spectacular downfall.
Herman told CNN’s Anderson Cooper she had to “play a role” to gain Fogle’s trust.
“He trusted me for unknown reasons,” she said. “People seem to take to me quite easily. He had said to me numerous times over the course of the years about having sex with minors.”
Herman said Fogle crossed the line when he asked her to set up hidden cameras in her children’s bedrooms so he could watch them.
“I had two young children at the time, and he talked to me about installing hidden cameras in their rooms and asked me if I would choose which child I would like him to watch,” she said.
Fogle is currently on house arrest pending his court hearing to enter a guilty plea. Prosecutors are recommending a 12-year prison sentence.
Fogle’s long-suffering wife Katie filed for divorce on Wednesday. They have 2 children.
