Big Boi’s Wife, Sherlita Patton, Files for Divorce

Big Boi and Sherlita Patton

The Atlanta Journal-Constition reports the wife of Outkast rap star Big Boi, filed for divorce on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

According to court documents obtained by the AJC, Antwon A. Patton married Sherlita M. Patton in February 2002, and the two are currently separated.

This is the second (or third) separation for the couple, who had marriage problems in the past due to Big Boi’s alleged infidelities.

But friends say Sherlita stayed with her husband for the sake of their two children, son Cross and daughter Jordan (pictured above with her parents at her graduation).

It was confirmed years ago that Big Boi fathered a son, Bamboo, with another woman.

The divorce complaint, filed in Fulton County Superior Court, claims that the marriage is “irretrievably broken,” and is seeking alimony, an equitable division of marital property and attorney’s fees.

Antwon and Sherlita Patton have two children — ages 18 and 12 — and Sherlita Patton is asking for sole custody of the younger child and corresponding child support, according to the filing.

Friends believe Sherlita delayed filing divorce papers for the sake of her children. But now that the kids are grown, she is moving on with her life.

Still, one of Big Boi’s friends was critical of Sherlita’s actions.

Now we know who Jada Pinkett was referring to.

“She been in it this long, she’s supposed to know how it goes,” he said, referring to the known fact that married men cheat.

What the law ih in Georgia as it relates to alimony and division of property? I think it’s worth noting that they married in 2002 and she filed for divorce this time – after being married 10 years and some change…. in many states, 10 years is that, “I quit this b*tch with FULL benefits” point.

The way I see it, one… carry the two… bring down… subtract… add, yeah, that’s juuuust enough over 10 to get it in.

Did she give it a few extra months to make that 10 year point seem like a valiant effort and not the obvious, just in time to take your a$$ to the bank for half of everything?

In Texas, 10 years and they get half your retirement, 401K, bank accounts and everything else is split down the middle.

He eventually got it after daddy showed him and ONLY because he saw me struggling to teach him to stand and pee. I don’t have a dack so IDK

Lil razz always stayed dry at night. but he wasn’t fully potty trained until he was a little older than three. He took his time and I had to respect he would do it when he was ready. I don’t agree that cheating is in a man’s DNA, I think cheating is a social issue. As black men specifically, we have placed so much worth on how many broads you can bag as your right of passage that it becomes a learned behavior.

Men learn from their father’s – whether he’s at home, or an absentee. If most men look deep into their childhood, they’ll tell you that they remember their father taking them to his sideline hoze house and getting that speech before you went back home, “Don’t tell ya mama.”

I have had to make the decision and I always knew, crazy as it seemed, I was doing the right thing. Its so funny/odd/heartbreaking were talking about this today. @buttshake I might not have said clearly what I meant to say. I STARTED potty training my son at two. I was not saying he needed to be trained by the time he was two. You dont have to be bugging. Cheating is not new and science has been involved in the whys and hows for a long time. The answers are out there. But simply, cheating is hardly EVER about the person being cheated on. The very idea that its “fun” to sneak behind somebodies back for a moment of pleasure is so … telling. That, to me, speaks volumes about who a person is. Seriously you need an intestinal flush.

Intestinal Flush:
Soak 1 tablespoon of Bentonite clay in 1 cup of filtered water for 12 hours. Then add 1 tablespoon of psyllium husks to the clay mixture and mix very well. Drink and eat the whole cup of mixture immediately and then followed by 1 cup of warm water before bedtime.

On an empty stomach before bed. Drink 1/4 cup olive oil (cold pressed) with freshly squeezed lemon juice(or 1/2 cup grapefruit juice unsweetened). Drink that every 15 mins until you have had 1 cup of each (2 cups if you use grapefruit juice). Then go to bed right after and lay on your right side. Do this for 2 days.
