Pop singer Jason Derulo opened up about his recent breakup with American Idol winner Jordin Sparks. The 25-year-old singer-songwriter blamed intense pressure from Jordin and others to put a ring on her finger.
Apparently a room full of roses was not enough to satisfy Sparks.
“There was a lot of tension in the relationship for a lot of different reasons. Every relationship has ups and downs. There was a lot of pressures of marriage….a lot of arguing and stuff like that that just weighed on our relationship over time.”
“To be fair, it was not just from her either. It was kind of from everybody. That’s not the sole reason, but it definitely played a part.”
“When you stop having more good times than bad times, it’s time to call it quits. It becomes something that is unhealthy.”
Good for Jason (and rapper Big Sean) for noticing the warning signs and bailing instead of planning their lives with needy women.
I constantly warn my young male friends to beware of women who try to rush into marriage — especially when there are no children involved.
Love takes time to grow. Marriage should not even be discussed within the first year of a relationship.
It takes longer than a year to get to know the person you plan to spend the rest of your life with. Take Jason’s advice: Slow your roll and give the Dopamine a chance to fade before making hasty decisions.
