BET Network’s #1 countdown music video show, 106 & Park is ending its run after 14 years, the network announced on Twitter.com Nov. 14.

BET’s tweet read: “After 14 yrs as America’s #1 music show on BET, #106andPark is blazing a new trail as a digital brand and will exit as a daily TV show.”

The announcement caused many fans to travel down memory lane and reminisce about the shows’ impact on their lives.

106 & Park debuted as a late night countdown music show and morphed into a star-studded platform that launched the careers of urban rap stars and entertainers such as Lil Bow Wow, who coined the nickname “Mr. 106 & Park.”

It’s fitting that Bow Wow, now Shad Moss, went on to host the popular show (with co-host Keisha Chante) in 2013.

Music producer Missy Elliott changed her Twitter profile to reflect the show’s cancellation.

The last show will air on Dec. 19. BET’s president of music programming and specials Stephen Hill explained what’s next for the iconic program.

From NY Daily News:

“The 106 & Park brand remains strong and will continue to produce various specials throughout the year, including its annual New Year’s Eve show, 106 & Party, along with live event experiences at the BET Awards and BET Experience,” according to the press release. “In 2015, 106 & Park looks forward to continuing its reign as the hottest hangout on one of the coolest digital platforms, BET.com.”

“The interactive brand you helped build, 106 & Park, is alive and well…and it’s moving to teh space in which our audience NOW interacts with music the most: online,” he said in a statement. “It’ll be very exciting to connect with the millions of people that are already engaged with 106 & Park and other BET digital and social media entities.”
