Brooklyn park

Police have arrested four of 5 teens who allegedly gang raped an 18-year-old girl in a Brooklyn park.

According to the NY Post, 2 boys, 14 and 15, were turned in by their upstanding parents. Police later arrested 2 additional teenage suspects. A fifth suspect is still on the loose.

The horrific rape took place on the playground of a Brooklyn park at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The 5 suspects allegedly took turns raping the girl after one of the thugs pulled a gun on her father, telling him "Get the f*** out of here!"

The father ran off and flagged down a patrol car, but the thugs had already fled the scene.

Brooklyn politicians and civic leaders are outraged that police took 2 days to report the rape to the public.

Borough President Eric Adams accused police of intentionally withholding the crime from the public because the rape occurred in crime-ridden Brownsville instead of Manhattan's Central Park.

Authorities ramped up their investigation into the gang rape after London's Daily Mail tabloid ran the story.

“For community leaders and the community to find out about this horrific crime from the tabloids is not acceptable,” Adams said.

“The imperative to catch those people shouldn’t matter if the park is Osborn [Playground] or Central Park,” he said. “The same level of urgency must be followed.”

I heard this story this morning. The father leaving his daughter behind is crazy to me.

Exactly. I would take a bullet for my kid.

This ^^^ But everyone apparently these days .... Ion know .....

  • jeniefrumdabloc™

    I will take it ....

  • harley_quinn2.0

Right! I can't imagine leaving my child on their own.

  • SpillyNillie

He probably had a hard time deciding whether to stay or go find help

  • jussaying

Its an impossible situation to be placed in. If he had stayed and been shot dead, how would that have helped her? I don't judge him for being put in a position most of us, God willing, won't have to make.

  • BKLYNS MAMA

heavy WORK debate.. heated...some feel he could have took the bullet and they would have still raped the girl.. it was a no win situation..#IJS

  • SandrasNewFave

Maaaan! Pops need his azz whooped.

  • yallcrazy

Im sorry this story is just really weird to me. Late at night in a park in the cold? I just don't understand

  • side_i

I thought it was just me???

  • Low E. {CIRCA 1908}

IT'S COLD AF IN MEMPHIS IN MEMPHIS SO I KNOW IT'S ICE COLD IN BK.

  • BKLYNS MAMA

that's what some folk was debating at work...it was kinda like a no win situation. or they could have both just ran and took a chance of being shot...or not.

  • eBay

They coulda been walking thru the park to get to another destination. I don't think they were actually "visiting" the park at that time of night.

  • SpillyNillie

This is true...killing him would have taken the crime to another level and it's likely that they would have killed her because she would've been an eye witness to the murder. A difficult situation to be in...

  • TheRider

My daughter would have been one less parent if that were me. No way in hell am I leaving my child knowing what was going to happen to her.

  • yallcrazy

Well I hope so. I read somewhere somebody said they were having a drink. But you know how people be lying just making stuff up

  • sealsaa

Disgusting. Animals are more civilized than this.

  • jussaying

Yeah there's no easy fix, when you are outnumbered by that many people and they have a deadly weapon. My heart goes out to the girl obviously, but also to that father whom I'm sure is going to be in turmoil about what he could or shouldn't have done probably for the rest of this life. I think we need to shift blame more so on the perpetrators versus the victims. What a god awful crime to commit. May they die horrifically and slowly.

  • Di Ana

This is horrific. I would have to die trying to save my child. I do feel sorry for the father, I see myself dying for my child, there would be know way in hell I would've ran off and left my daughter with those beast. I applaud the parents for turning their sons in!!!

  • yallcrazy

You right. Plus he had to make that decision in a split second

  • Ni Ni

It was indeed a no win situation. They would have been raped/killed regardless

  • FengShuiDeezNuts

Now ya'll know da kid from BK....and that particular park is KNOWN for some unsavory characters and activity....Word on the curb is Daddy might have been pimping her out....boys might have agreed for services and not paid....I sincerely hope this is not another Central Park 5 with a couple of crackheads stirred in...

    1) Da fug were you and daughter doing strolling through Osborn Park....
    2) ANY parent woulda ate the damn bullet for their child
    3) You couldn't find a cop in Browsnville? Sir Where was your cellphone
    4) You wer gone long enough for not 1, not 2, but FIVE niccas to bust a nut?

    Yeah ok :tea:

  • harley_quinn2.0

    Nope

  • PrettyBrown28

    Good, no, GREAT points.

  • jussaying

Oh gosh you raised some good points. I really hope that wasn't what's going on. That's awful all around. I feel so sorry for that girl. I hate that this happened to her and that some children in general don't know what it is to be protected and cared for by their guardians.. this makes me so angry.

  • BKLYNS MAMA

yass...to the "die horrifically and slowly." They need to get life with no funkin' parole and they get raped every day of they life sentence...

  • 1/8

They would have to shoot me.

  • jussaying

Send them to one of those internment camps in the Middle East. I just listened to a story about an Iraqi girl who was wrongfully sent to one of those prisons that are like death prisons. Smh, the types of torture they do there is so sick.

  • Rayne

I'm glad they let him go so that he could flag down some help. I'd rather the young girl have both parents and some counseling then one dead parent.

  • MotherOfDragons, GetOffMyENuts

Left her long enough to be raped by 4-5 animals at that... I know it's a horrible situation and saying what you would do if it was you is meaningless when it's not you but...I can not fathom leaving my child like that. My children come first, it's not even a thought, my instinct won't allow me to think of myself first when they need me.

  • yallcrazy

I cant lie I swear child trafficking his daughter came in my head. Lord forgive me...im not trying to blame the victims. Regardless that girl should not have been raped

  • jussaying

Not only that, but imagine the kind of emotional and psychological damage she'd endure to see someone's brains blown out right in front of her, let alone her father... That's traumatic in its own right.

  • AnonymousRose

A 14-15... @ 9pm... on a school night... outside,.... in a park...knowing the Statistics of a black males in america......bound to get in some trouble, if they didn't do,.. they still did it ...I would ask what's wrong, but WHY even Bother.....................

  • SpillyNillie

You were gone long enough for not 1, not 2, but FIVE niccas to bust a nut?

This is what got me...sounds like the cops were near so by the time they made it to the scene they all had done their business and left??

  • BKLYNS MAMA

ok if the daddy was a pimp...this changes the game for me. but still its CRAZY all the way around.

  • MotherOfDragons, GetOffMyENuts

That's what got me as well, and gives me serious pause. HOW was he gone that long?

  • <—Doesn'tTalkToStrangers

In places like Chicago and New York, the parks are massive and generally sit in the middle of a neighborhood. It's not uncommon to cut through the park as a shortcut.

  • yallcrazy

Right he should've flagged anybody down to call emergency! Hollaring down the street beating on doors

  • SpillyNillie

IF this is the case and he was indeed pimping out the poor girl...running to the cops gave him serious pause...

  • nucynu25

    Good questions luv

  • MotherOfDragons, GetOffMyENuts

Kudos to the parents that turned their sons in. That wasn't an easy decision to make I'm sure but they did what was right.

  • Mel

Let's see how tough they are now that they ass in the slammer and kudos to the parents that did the right thing instead of trying to protect them. I hope all is well with the young lady it's a difficult time for her she will need all the therapy and support she can get

  • http://sandrarose.com SandraRose

It wasn't rape if it was a business transaction. Maybe that's why the police withheld the rape from the public.

  • MotherOfDragons, GetOffMyENuts

This story...I am going to follow it. I'm interested in seeing what new details emerge.

  • 1/8

One report indicated the man was a friend, not her father. I don't know what to believe.

  • nucynu25

    Shit sad man .

  • SaltineCrackers

    THE FATHER DESERVES DEATH!!
Your daughter gets raped and you don't have a gunshot wound or a single scratch on your body?!?! I'm so disgusted.

  • THE OLDER SISTAH

When I first read this yesterday, I had pretty much the same questions as you especially:
#3 You couldn't find a cop in Browsnville?
Everybody knows you dial 911 and say a cop is getting his azz kicked and the cops would be there before you hung up.

  • http://www.sandrarose.com Django the God

When you're not even safe with being at the park with your father though. All is suffering.

  • nucynu25

Wow, I think that's really harsh . I don't believe I could hve left my child but it's a hard choice . How could he protect her dead ?

  • FengShuiDeezNuts

    Like seriously come on lol

  • DiNero

Growing up in Jersey, having guns pulled on me on many occasions, knowing this can happen at any moment, I personally trained so I can take a gun effectively from someone. Everyone doesn't know what it feels like to have a gun pointed at you. The first time, everyone pisses and shits on themselves in the moment. If they say they didn't they're liars. I do agree with points 1, 3 and 4. But i know many parents that will not eat a bullet for their child.

  • FengShuiDeezNuts

Is this my Boo Ms.Keys? AKA Just Hooking????

  • JJ

Good on the parents of the 14&15 year olds. MF'ers need to get raped in prison everyday! I love my kids but if they ever did some shiz like this is I'd be calling the police and ambulance back to back. You and your friends raped a girl at gunpoint and threaten her father he couldn't do much to help his baby girl other than run to find cops and you come home trying to act like nothing happened and continue living your life? Oh Heck no I don't spank but that would be the day I'd spank their faces with my fists and I'm calling the girl father see if he want some time with y'all before we call the police. Murder and rape will make me disown you completely I'll deal with drug problems, if you stealing but Lord I don't have it in me to care about a rapist or murder.

  • jussaying

Lmao sadly, no ma'am. But I hope she comes back to you.

  • FengShuiDeezNuts

Everybody that procreates is NOT a parent...BLOOP!

    From the New York Times:

"Two teenagers, ages 14 and 15, were turned in to police custody by their parents; the two others, ages 15 and 17, were apprehended by the authorities..."

I have nothing but the deepest respect for parents who do the right thing.

  • FengShuiDeezNuts

HAPPY NEW YEAR AUNTY! Lol Dang ain't no mo "Pank Box" :kona:

  • Yoni

I wouldn't have put it THAT harshly, but it baffles me that the father didn't "fight for his daughter" like a man should. PERIOD! She's probably still going to blame him in the end.

  • Beyawnce

I just read up on this. Apparently the father and daughter were drinking beer in an obscured area of the park. The father ran into a Bodega to ask for help but apparently he was incoherent and drunk so the Bodega workers told him to scram. Once the police came to the aide of the rape victim, she too was drunk and bit an officer and refused medical attention at first, police couldn't even interview her the night of the attack because she was belligerent.
Sound fishy to me after reading this additional information...

  • harley_quinn2.0

Knowing the father that I have, he would be dead too. Not judging but that's what my father would have done.

  • jussaying

did they all finish though? it's possible to rape someone w/o 'completing,' and their bodily fluids [pre-cum, saliva, etc] could have been extracted from that versus actual semen. they could have been taking turns poking.

  • harley_quinn2.0

    Me too smh

  • MotherOfDragons, GetOffMyENuts

"The victim's father says he was with his daughter at the time, drinking near the handball courts, and that the group approached and one pulled out a gun, pointed it at his face and ordered him to leave.

"If I would have stood there and fought them (I would have died)," he said. "Because they meant business. They weren't playing around."'

Another story clarifies that he and his 18 y.o. daughter were drinking beer at the time. What parent stands in a park, at night, in the cold, drinking beer with their child? He has failed as a father for this alone in my opinion. That poor young woman, smh...

These boys do not value girls/women. Everything about modern culture sends the message that girls, especially Black females, are " rachet" THOTS, disloyal etc. Our culture has led our youth to believe that a girl's best feature is behind them and they have no ability or inclination to decline sex. Young Black males share their intimacy and loyalty with one another. If a girlfriend had suggested that they hold hands with her and walk through that park they probably would have cursed her out but when one of their "boys" suggest they go to the park and rape a girl they all happily agree.

  • Just Keya

Girl that was my daughter for about a month at day care. smh. My son did not go until he was about 2 so he was ok. But my daughter was NOT feeling it at all. She is ok now. Goes and plays and does not cry. All that to say, give it some time. It's going to be a big adjustment for you and him.

  • iWasteTime

Them kids would have had to catch a body that day. I don't see how a parent . . . let me go. I'll cry .
God Bless that young lady and her mental health .
I will lose my life for mine, you hear me,

  • MotherOfDragons, GetOffMyENuts

You said it, why not drink in the warm comfort and relative safety of the house since he feels it's ok to allow her to drink and supply the alcohol?

  • nucynu25

Honestly , am not disagreeing with you , I Def understand your point but looking at it from the outside I am sure she would rather be doing a rape kit instead of doing a rape kit & picking out caskets .

  • PettyEyezPrime

I can't speak on what my reaction would be. They look at social media first lol.

  • LibraGirlonly

I don't understand why these kids did what they did when they knew they would be caught.

  • Just Keya

Exactly. And on top of that, why are you as the father, teaching her that it's ok to be out at night, in a park, drinking beer at 18? She is a young lady, that is not at all appropriate for her.

  • Just Keya

Caught or not, why did they think it's ok to rape anyone?! And have a gun. smdh. Where are the parents?

  • PettyEyezPrime

Why the public didn't have these pics immediately after they became available? I really don't want to think it's because it's Brooklyn but my heart is telling me otherwise.

  • Just Keya

  • Readytochokemothernatureonout

    I know I would

  • MotherOfDragons, GetOffMyENuts

They ALL, especially the two who's parents turned them in, knew damn well it's not ok. A lot of boys think running a train on a willing girl IS ok though, and if they were under the assumption that she was willing...the authorities need to look in to this father.

  • Just Keya

True. But there is an almost 18 y/o in my house right now. Bet money come 9 she is not out no damn where with friends on a school night. Hell, she can't even spend the night if dad did not talk to the parents to make sure a parent will be home. So I am confused as to how the 14 -16 year old are just roaming the damn streets 9pm on a school night. They should be in the damn house.

  • PettyEyezPrime

This ain't the post for me, I'll be back when we get some happy news cuz this is going to go left. I don't play about kids. Other sites reporting whatever....so what.!!! RAPE IS WRONG regardless of the situation, clothing or ANYTHING. ?

  • MotherOfDragons, GetOffMyENuts

I'm with you on that. I was a 14-15 year old girl in NY. Never was I allowed to be roaming alone after dark, or anywhere period at any time, with or without my parents knowledge. EVER.

  • Mister Fantastic

Daily Mail is my favorite periodical to read. Being UK based, it's incredible the indepth U.S. news it obtains before the watered down USA media gets it.

  • TheWildChild

Thanks again to The Daily mail for bringing a great deal of attention to this story. ?? just as SandraRose.com did with the Treyvon Martin story. This was awful of those little entitled thugs, at what point did they think this was right? Some of these kids today have no fear of consequences anymore. ?

  • MsSincerity

    1. Why is he drinking with his 18 year old daughter?
    2. Why is he drinking with his 18 year old daughter in a FREEZING COLD azz park?
    3. Who flags down a cop instead of calling for help, I mean did he not have a cell phone? You couldn't find NOBODY? By the time he flagged down a cop, they were through assaulting her? There were allegedly 5 dudes, so that took a little bit of time. This is not adding up. #lowlifepiecesofsh!t

  • PettyEyezPrime

Honestly, parents work. A lot of children are left to fend for themselves. Parents trust that at that age, kid should be able to be at home or a friends without trouble. Can't stop them from leaving once you're gone. Especially boys. Street life calls them. I don't agree but I live in NY

  • nucynu25

Thanks . Lol am at work going through his pics . He's usually by my mom & his paw paw , so I always get updates & pics of what he's doing through out the day . I know we just hve to adjust , my mom called me crying she already went to check on him.

IONO  I'm gonna ask her when I see her.
    But I'm ready :bounce:

  • iWasteTime

He didn't have a phone and that is the councilman's beef . The father called 911 and flagged down the cops. The councilman wants the 911 call released too. He want's a explanation of the slow response. The cops the father flagged down were not dispatched to the scene but were driving by

  • Just Keya

You have to know your child. And I can't relate because my momma worked and was home at night. When I got out of school during the day I was with an adult until high school. And even then, it was rules and stuff in place. And clearly, these kids were not responsible to be home alone. I am not home when our kids get out of school, but please believe someone is at the house, and two are at the day care. I don't care what is going on, protect your kids. Stop leaving them to raise themselves. ESPECIALLY in todays world.

  • Just Keya

Awwww. Yeah, it's so sad in the beginning. and it's very hard too. But they learn from other kids and that's always a good thing.....well sometimes...they pick up the bad habits too, but over all, it will be ok.

  • Readytochokemothernatureonout

Having been in a predicament such as this I know firsthand that you'll do anything to save your children straight mommy mode with no thoughts of self..wouldn't wish it upon an enemy.

  • MsSincerity

  • 1/8

I graduated high school when I was 17. An 18 year-old would be out of school or headed for college. Frankly, I don't understand why people are getting hung up in the victim's age. Her age doesn't matter.

Instead, we need to focus on the little savages who committed the crime. I wonder how many of them come from single-parent homes.

  • Just Keya

But a half hour I can see. And like I said, you have to know your kids. You know yours are not gonna be out all over the place before you get home.

  • i troll it like i see it

God help that young lady and her father...this story made my stomach turn.

At least some of the parents did he right thing and turned in their putrid children.

  • i troll it like i see it

Even though he ran for help, and that makes sense, I don't think my heart would have let me leave the scene either...no rational thinking. I would have been too afraid of what those animals were gonna do to my child.

  • ???

    You know what it is!!!!?

  • 1/8

I'm sure a lot of single parents are upstanding, law-abiding citizens. However, the when it comes to creating a stable home for their children, some of them aren't up to snuff.

Again, I applaud the parents who turned their sons in to the cops, but I can't help wondering what role they played in creating those monsters.

  • Hair Lova ???

Not unless they wanna die! Plus sometimes I make my neighbor check on them in case I'm running a little behind. But that's true have to know your off spring.

  • abby-o

I live in Bklyn and this wasn't given the urgency and media attention it would have gotten if it was a white 18 yr old on the upper east side...2 days later we heard abt this on the news

  • ???

EXACTLY ! ! All that damm labor my azz had to go thru..tuh! I won't let my teens go further than the porch and that's with the door WIDE open so I can see and hear EVERYTHANG..if I can't be done on the porch then it won't be done ?

  • ???

    ???!!!

  • Li

The teens must have been stupid or merciful. Sometimes I think this story has some holes in it. I dunno. Would a father leave his daughter? How long does it take for 5 boys to rape a girl? Did anyone cry help?

  • Li

The daughter was 18, it's believable. But somehow that story has holes in it. The deli worker said the father was "calm" and that's why he didn't give him the phone.

  • Li

Is he the natural father or a step father? I think a natural father would have taken a bullet.

  • Li

    Me too.

  • jussaying

No idea. I think the other ladies here have investigated further. This was the first I'd heard of the story.

  • Sucker Free

Not in my book...21 is legal drinking age, not to mention it was at night in a crime ridden park...id question his parenting skills but i dont think this guy was her father

  • Li

NYDN is reporting the boys said it was consensual. Something smells with this story. Could it be the father and daughter were pimping?
Could it be he's not her "father" but a step father?

  • Li

They will do a dna to find out. But the story doesn't sit right with me.

  • Saywhatnow?

he did the right thing. He would be dead and daughter still raped.

  • <3 LoveDreamLive <3

It isn't uncommon for rape victims to attack medical workers or police, especially if they are male. They aren't in the right mindset.

I have no clue about her alcohol level but even if she was drunk, she was still a vicitm. It's a sad situation.

Police have arrested four of 5 teens who allegedly gang raped an 18-year-old girl in a Brooklyn park. The horrific rape took place on the playground of a Brooklyn park at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The 5 suspects allegedly took turns raping the girl after one of the thugs pulled a gun on her father, telling him “Get the f*** out of here!”

“The imperative to catch those people shouldn’t matter if the park is Osborn [Playground] or Central Park,” “The same level of urgency must be followed"...........

theres alot of holes in this story...

    1. the dad was out drinkin in the park with his teen daughter
    2. 5guys 1 gun...instead of telling her to run...u run?
    3. U ran 3 blocks to find police? And 5 dudes had time to take turns on her?

honestly i think he was her pimp or she was being molested by him and they got caught

Yeeeess. This "story" reeks of BS to me. I think the 'father' owed those thugs money for drugs and couldn't pay so he set the 'daughter' up, hence the beer ? drinkin to relax her, to prostitute the money ? owed off. Just my opinion. I think I watch too much Lifetime.

Well this is the latest from the NYDN:

The victim told cops that she and her 39-year-old dad — who she only recently reconnected with after being adopted — were drinking beer near the handball courts at the Osborn Playground in Brownsville around 9 p.m. Thursday “to be away from the police,” sources said.

Their plan backfired when five teens, including one with a gun, confronted them and ordered the father to scram, the pair told cops.

The dad ran to Zaida Deli and Grocery for help, but a worker there said he couldn’t make out what the father was saying because he was so hammered.

    ^^
No wonder the dad didn't protect her.

BROWNSVILLE. Smdh!!!! Don't nothing good come outta there.

  • MS.BEE

    THIS STORY ISN'T ADDING UP.

  • sunni_daze

I read the full article last night and all I have to say is.....That man set his daughter up to be raped. 1. He left (aint no way I'd leave my child gun on me or not). 2. It took 20 mins to find a cop in NYC (never) 3. Y'all drinking beer in a park at 9 pm. Nothing adds up. And the father should be arrested for being a punk b!tch and leavin his daughter.

  • Saywhatnow?

apparently now they were involved, intoxicated and having sex..Lawd!
