Music video

DJ Khaled released the music video for his new song “Wild Thoughts”, featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller. “Wild Thoughts” is off his new album Grateful, scheduled for release on Epic Records June 23.

The 41-year-old New Orleans native, whose real name is Asahd Khaled, teams up with Bajan singer Rihanna and R&B crooner Byrson Tiller for the provocative music video directed by Colin Tilley.

Bryson’s lyrics should serve as a reminder that your daughter’s innocence is gone forever.

I heard that pu$$y for the taking
I heard you got these other ni–as going crazy
Yeah I treat you like a lady, lady
F— you ’til you burnt up (cremation)

Pre-order the album on iTunes.

  • HIS4EVA

I like the Carlos Santana guitar sound. Yes. And Tiller is cool. Ri a lil worn but she bring the sex appeal.

  • HIS4EVA

I can hear this bumping to begin summer!

  • HIS4EVA

    3 roses are accurate- imo

  • NeverSurprised

I really wish Rihanna would not align herself with such vulgarity and misogyny. She is really above that at this point in her career. Leave the bottom-dwelling to people like Nikki Minaj.

  • JV

America is very much a sales-oriented country/society. Everybody wants to sell you on something. I don’t understand the value of “owning” music anymore — I can watch the videos on MusicYoutube or use a streaming algorithm/Pandora/Spotify/etc.

What’s funny is that now there’s an “anti-algorithm” trend now, “Streaming music is lame, we want DJ’s back!” Yeah, don’t sell me on the radio either, because it sucks. I don’t care how “indie” it is — that just means they’re going to put on Irish heavy metal or some horrible crap. I know what I like and I know what works for me; stop trying to get me to buy stuff that I don’t need!

Musicians should either play to tour or play for fun, because otherwise I just don’t see the point.

I love the dancing and the culture. Love RiRi’s outfits. The song is just okay. I was expecting a little more something.

  • stav

I just wish DJ Khaled would give that child a rest, he doesn’t need to be in the media so much. Let him be a child and enjoy it, because it’s over(being a child) so soon.

  • ebonics

She is not above any of that.. she is vulgar. She right where she belongs.

  • Coy little wink

    I like the original better

Same for that Toni Toni Toni song whatever you need…the vulgarity ruins it IMO

  • Coy little wink

    Lol

  • ebonics

Wow, first off they straight ripped off Carlos Santana.. second Rhi is terrrrrible! Her voice sucks and all she tries to push is sex appeal. She tries too hard in my opinion. Has to show her body to sell music, thats wack and played out already. I give it one rose, it was honestly worse than what I was expecting. ONLY good thing about it was the Santana guitar. Meh.

  • ebonics

    Agreed!

  • Coy little wink

I really like the original ??

  • ebonics

Same here I love that whole Supernatural album by Carlos Santana ESP that Cee-lo and Lauryn Hill track.. <3

  • Ni Ni

    Right on!

  • JerseyMom

    OMG, this is horrible.

  • JV

It reminds me of the trend of men walking more and more of those small lap-dog types. Men with their kids is almost like a burgeoning fashion statement or something.

  • RespectSelf

This is something that I think is going to have to grow on me like his last single… However it may do good because of the simple fact that rihanna is in it.

  • Please Stop The Madness

I read years ago the reason anyone hardly samples Carlos Santana in hip hop is that nobody can afford to. He charges and arm and a leg for his shat. Only two I can think of off the top of my head is Pac and J. Cole. Either Daddy Carlos is a fan of Khaled or my guess is…Khaled paid a whole LOT of money to Carlos Santana.

  • Ms. Cree

    I am loving the visuals… that’s all I got

  • disqus_TrCUDzOzuG

Agree. I’m not a fan of Rihanna’s vocals and they were horrible on this song.

  • Torae

This is horrible…she looks good tho but the song is TRASH!

  • ebonics

Makes sense.. Carlos should charge for his work he created. Too bad they paid an arm and leg and made dookie out of it.

  • Please Stop The Madness

    Bingo

Loving your child should never takes a REST it continues. If he didn’t spend time with the child folks would be saying he is never seen with his child, etc, etc. That child is lucky to have a parent who wants and enjoys being with him. A lot of adults as kids wish they had a parent to even show them that kind of love and they are still suffering to this day and they are grown. He is being a child who is BLESSED to have a FATHER that LOVES him. Men can’t win for losing. If they don’t spend a lot of time with a child, we complain and if he spends a lot of time with a child we still complain. As a woman with kids I am glad to see him spend time with his SON and there are a lot of women with kids out there wish they did have a man who would come and spend any amount of time with their kid. I wish DJ Khaled would continue to do what he is doing with is son. I am loving it.

  • tt

    No

I like her pants, blue dress and sandals.

  • Jahnée Gill Mr.Eddie Murphy

Dj loud mouth HOP OFF THE CARIBBEAN DACK! First Jamaica no Haiti? wave your on flag and rep your own country you fat bastard. I don’t know who’s worse you or that bitch drake.

  • Renee26

I wonder how Carlos Santana feels about not being listed as a producer on this one…that’s all I heard. It’s cool though

  • JV

I think that’s great that he’s seen with his son and that apparently they spend quality together. But I say “apparently” for a reason: Spending time with your kid in public — possibly as a publicity stunt, or for a photo op, as displayed above — does not necessarily mean he’s being an attentive father. I don’t know that he’s NOT, mind you, but it’s not unreasonable to question whether his motives aren’t in fact a little contrived. There’s no question that child is helping his bottom line, and Mr. Instagram here knows about image.

  • Yoni7

    Agreed.

  • JerseyMom

She sings like a depressed goat.

  • JerseyMom

DJ Khalad is a culture vulture. I don’t buy his nice facade.

  • ebonics

Beaten down, stabbed twice in the back goat.

  • Yoni7

it’s not unreasonable to question whether his motivations aren’t in fact a little contrived.
    _______________
Yes it is unreasonable. Especially if you are not going to (put your own self in a position) step up and step in if in fact they are contrived.

  • JV

Carlos Santana once made a Chad Kroeger song about Spiderman listenable. You can tell he’s not just a great guitarist, but a real workaholic.

  • hottlanta

People rag on Kelly Washington because she is never seen in public with her 2 kids. No one has ever seen a picture, so does that make her a bad mom. A lot of time there is no motive he is just a man who is proud to have a son. Artists have always use their kid for an album cover. I remember from back in the day Chaka Khan had great picture of her daughter dressed in pearls for her album cover. What motive did she have, DJ is already paid he doesn’t need to pimp his child to make money.

  • JV

Well if that’s the case then there’s really no need for celebrity gossip blogs or mags or anything like that like that. That he puts himself and his child out there as a marketing technique I think is an absolutely fair critique — his kid’s on the cover of his album! So to have an opinion of whether his very public relationship with his son is superficial or not seems very justified to me. It’s not like this is speculation on gossip or rumors; he puts this stuff out there.

  • Jahnée Gill Mr.Eddie Murphy

I really wish mediocre artist would stop remaking songs that don’t need to be remade. This reminds me of the new version of ”Tale as old as time” with John Legend and fake Mariah. Awful ! Nothing beats the original , NOTHING!

  • http://www.Samanthagwrites.com Samantha G.

It’s a nice listen to me. Something to listen to in the background while I clean but I wouldn’t turn the radio up when it comes on. How is this DJ Khalid’s song again? All he did was say his name ?????

  • Jay

    Lil man is just adorable!!!

  • JV

Yeah, and his motivations may be pure, I get that. I still wonder if that much media exposure is the best thing for a kid, though. But he is the father though so..

  • IAmLegend

U talking about Ariana Grande Frappuccino?

  • Cheese eggs

Boo is basically naked from the top down to her waist…vulgar…she’s with that

Im very tired of seeing this lil boy on album covers. Thirsty for attention

  • Jahnée Gill Mr.Eddie Murphy

Yes. That bald headed pony tail wearing wench.

  • Quitedeliteful

    LOLLOLLOLLOL!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yoni7

To critique and have and opinion is very different from someone QUESTIONING his motives. We critique, criticize, and state opinions on here all the time. QUESTIONING whether what he does in his household with his son shouldn’t be a worry or care IF we’re not in a position to fix what we don’t like about it. IJS

  • Deblicious

I do too. RiRi looks gawjus…I love all of her outfit changes

  • Mama Dee’s Wig Maker

    *sings* Maria Mariaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
She reminds me of a west side story
    Growing up in Spanish Harlem…

  • Mama Dee’s Wig Maker

    I dig it

  • Cie Be

I like Rihanna, I think she is so pretty….but, her remake of Carlos Santana’s song; “Maria, Maria,” does not make the cut IMO….Why take a perfectly good song and make it about sex is beyond me..unlike ole school artists, (that can sang, and yes I said sang), plus create some boss lyrics w/o the vulgarism; I’m not even sure if these new artists can sell their music without mentioning sex or showing their body parts….smh……so sad! Good luck with the remake though…. Santana still will get paid! Peace.

  • Ni Ni

    They can’t do it.

  • NicoleZee

I really don’t get all the hype with this Khaled dude. He opened for Beyonce last year during her Formation tour and I couldn’t wait until he got off the stage. His voice is annoying and he doesn’t understand how to use proper English, but from what I hear, English is the hardest language to learn when it’s not your native language. IT’S WE’RE THE BEST, OR WE ARE THE BEST, NOT WE THE BEST! I still don’t understand why Beyonce picked him instead of other pop or R&B artists that could have opened her show. And Dr. Oz told him he needs to lose weight, that’s what he should be doing. Health is more important, not making annoying shitty music. Cute baby though!

  • Quitedeliteful

Why is it that DJ Khaled is shouting his own self out on every song?? I’m liking this but mainly because I like Santana…

  • hottlanta

People who have not been loved will find something wrong with a man spending a lot of time loving with his child. I always tell my kids I love them and I remember one time my coworker heard me say to my kids I love them and she had a big problem with it by saying it was fake and she as tired of me telling my kids on the telephone everyday that I love them. I had to tell her she has never been loved so she doesn’t understand. I told her what has loving my child got to do with her and that she was jealous I was showing an emotion she never had that is why she was taking it so personally.

  • Quitedeliteful

    Yup!!! Girlfriend looks good!!!!

  • NicoleZee

He’s annoying. I listen to some rap, but most of it is trash. I prefer R&B, pop, country, some jazz, a little hip-hop, etc. I’m just not into him. And I hate going to concerts where he makes an appearance, that is not what my money pays for! I think most of these artists need to not even have anyone open for them. He showed up at Beyonce’s Atlanta show last September, I wanted to leave, but I had to see the Queen and dance my ass off for the rest of the night!

  • NicoleZee

Thank you! And now he seems to be exploiting his baby. I don’t post photos of my son online ever. And I damn for sure will not let my son listen to any rap at his young age, he’s still a toddler. I plan to raise a proper gentleman, not some fake attention seeking womanizer that wants to fit in so bad. SMDH at people starved for attention and that need to feel so important. Disgusting.

  • ShadesofEMPRESS

Omg the music industry needs help.

  • kgirl33

    Thank you!

  • NicoleZee

They messed up. The song is too hip-hoppy for me. Khaled needs to lose weight, Rihanna is wearing too much makeup, and Bryson needs a shave and a bath. I hate remakes whether it’s using just the music and/or same exact song format. I can’t believe Santana would let them use his music. The original song and music had a beautiful Latin flair to it, this song sucks. SMDH!

  • MsVAllDay

Why is his son in videos and on stage? This is some stupid ish.

  • SouljaSociety

ok…This whole thing with his son is getting annoying… get this cornball the f*ck outta hiphop.

  • ?Patty Kakes?

It sounds like a rip-off of Carlos Santana’s Maria Maria

  • Quitedeliteful

Wow… I wonder if he pays for their albums or something…

  • VM

    Me don’t like it.

  • VM

Thank you because I couldn’t think of the song.

  • VM

I think it’s because he’s signed to roc nation whatever the name of jay-z’s record label.

  • Solstice

    ??

  • VM

    Lol

    Terrible song from terrible artists

  • Allihave2say

  • HalleMerry

So,does DJ Khalid ever sing/rap in his songs? He only yelled ” Dj Khalid” twice(although I had 45 seconds left to listen, but I couldn’t take it anymore).

    LMAO

  • JerseyMom

    LMAO

  • akuakokoblogspotcom

    This is my shittt ????

  • ?Patty Kakes?

I’m so sick of hearing hin say his name at the beginning of every song…….LAWD smh

  • http://thedevereauxshow.com/ Ms.Devereaux

No he’s the producer of the songs

  • http://thedevereauxshow.com/ Ms.Devereaux

With a little but if busts rhymes if you really wanna party with me out all ya hands where my eyes can see !!! sprinkled in! I caught that if you don’t go back and listen it sounds like he put the two sings together

  • http://thedevereauxshow.com/ Ms.Devereaux

Because his son is getting paid for it he lists his son as executive producer that’s why he has him in the studio and all in everything so when he charge people and when the credits roll he gets a check and his son gets a separate check! Now that’s was smart!

  • Dahl

The only thing that came to mind when I saw this besides “turrible”, is “when is Rihanna due…?”

  • Yetunde

I find it a bit weird that he has a picture of his son on the front cover for a song about sex.

  • Solo

The fugees or was that just Wyclef?

  • lQueenNefertiti

    Love the song..Santana reference

  • nick c

Khalid is not a producer lol.

  • nick c

    He an industry hoe

  • nick c

I must be getting old but when I heard that Knuck if you buck beat on the radio I always knew that was headbanger for many years to come, Im not sure with this beat or that lovers or friends beat I heard over the spring either.

  • ?Patty Kakes?

Your right……..and Ri didn’t help the song either

  • http://thedevereauxshow.com/ Ms.Devereaux

He not!!! He has to be oh no he a dj then let right? He is not a rapper ?????

  • http://thedevereauxshow.com/ Ms.Devereaux

Yea see I know I wasn’t tripping he be doing some of the beats and stuff that’s why he has his son as executive producer on the new album https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/9117431d66641a14702a1f5c710b5650c2fd588e7273da005016163d3bf05f23.png https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/9c28d9a74dfa183c023fd1b243f4860d7d025598dc27ae995ef343ab9f514543.png

  • Malcom Flex

That’s why I call him a fat freak

  • Malcom Flex

He’s annoying AF. I’m sick of seeing his little bastard too.

  • Ladyvil

    I TOTALLY AGREE!!

  • Ladyvil

Khaled is boring AF especially that tired azz line ‘we da best’ FAT RETARD!

  • Ladyvil

    arab money

  • Alisa

Khaled is greatly overrated, highly annoying and should be kicked in his throat for using his son picture on such a trashy song.

  • Lady Elle

It’s understood that he is proud of having a son. What’s not understood is why every time you look up if it’s in reference to Khaled you see his son and the baby leopard, cub whatever…??? how is it that the album cover says parental discretion is advised but you got a smiling baby on the cover? Other than saying DJ Khaled we da best a couple of times he hasn’t rapped, danced or sang a note on any song. ??

  • Nala Shakur

ITs sampled after Maria Maria by Product G&B feat Carlos Santana..nothing is original anymore..

  • Nala Shakur

After everything i be sayin abt how hollywood is ran by pedophiles here we have a baby on a single cover for a sexually explicit song ironcially named “wild thoughts” but yea..bob on. And whenever a leopard or cheetah print is displayed its code for beta slave programming. Look that shit up.

  • Nala Shakur

    Bc it is. Lol

  • ?Patty Kakes?

    LOLOL

  • Vegas1989

Well…I got to laugh out loud here in my office…..We The Best….LOL

  • Genia

I can’t imagine Mr. Santana wasn’t paid WELL for the sample…I hope sampling encourages a young music listener to explore the origin of the beat…I fell in move with Nina Simone, thanks to Lauren Hill’s bar in Ready Or Not…mostly because i wanted to understand why she was defecating on the microphone….but still, you get my jist.

  • Nala Shakur

Its catchy n rihanna knows how to bring a certain “mysterious” n sexy vibe i give her that. But its nothing to go wild over lol
