Oprah 2020

Golden Globe viewers are still buzzing over Oprah Winfrey‘s heartfelt speech about the #MeToo movement during the live telecast on Sunday night. Oprah, who accepted the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award, said the culture is “broken by brutally powerful men.”

In her emotional speech Oprah seemed to invoke the movement in small-town America to create safe communities for women and children where men are not allowed.

“We all have lived too many years in a culture broken by brutally powerful men,” she said. “For too long, women have not been heard or believed if they dare speak the truth to the power of those men. But their time is up. Their time is up,” she said, referring to men.

After Oprah’s moving speech, NBC tweeted support for the TV Guru to run as president in 2020. Others on social media echoed the network’s sentiments by retweeting the #Oprah2020 hashtag.

Oprah has already said she has no plans to run for president in 2020, but that doesn’t mean influential Democrats can’t change her mind.

Here’s why Oprah might win if she decided to run against President Donald Trump in 2020:

1. Oprah is a wildly successful businesswoman

Oprah managed to turn her flailing network, OWN, around after many said the network was dead in the water.

2. Oprah is worth almost as much money as Trump

The 63-year-old television mogul’s net worth is $2.8 billion — just 1 billion less than President Trump’s net worth. Trump owns properties and assets worth billions, but he doesn’t own his own television network like Oprah. Oprah can finance her own campaign and use her OWN network to air her political campaign ads for FREE.

3. Oprah is a woman, and women got Trump elected

Women, particularly black women, are exercising their muscles at the polls. White women helped Donald Trump crush Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. But it was black women who stormed the polling booths in Alabama to carry Democrat Doug Jones to victory over Republican Roy Moore in the state Senate race last month. White and black women love Oprah. That signals an easy victory for Oprah if she decides to run in 2020.

4. She’s kind to animals

There is no doubt that Oprah has a soft spot for animals. And Americans have a soft spot for animal lovers. Oprah has 3 beautiful dogs — Luke, Layla and Gracie — whom she dotes on. Her bestie, Gayle King, recently posted a heartwarming photo of Oprah comforting Luke on her private jet. We have yet to see a photo of President Trump with an animal that isn’t dead.

5. Oprah beat Harpo’s Ass

Some of the Color Purple‘s most memorable lines were uttered by Oprah. “You told Harpo to beat me!” and “All my life I had to fight!”. It was Oprah (as Sofia) who gave Celie (Whoopi Goldberg) the courage to leave her abusive husband. “Everything you done to me already done to you,” said Celie as she walked out on her husband for good. President Oprah will give women the courage to leave their abusive husbands (and bosses) and build their own communities free from violent men.
