Cher

Cher didn't mean it when she called out twerking Miley Cyrus; she was just trying to promote her new album. At least that's how Cher explained it on her Twitter account yesterday -- after her followers dragged her unmercifully for telling told USA Today Miley "can't dance," and "her body looked like hell."

Cher's fans took offense to the senior citizen ripping a troubled young lady who just lost the finest man in all the land to another woman.

Hunky Australian actor Liam Hemsworth is reportedly distancing himself from his girlfriend, the public spectacle known as Miley Cyrus.

Miley Cyrus Shocks MTV VMAs

Shock singer Lady Gaga hoped last night would cap her big comeback after her long hiatus to undergo hip surgery. But Gaga's well-laid plans of mischief and mayhem for the MTV VMA's were foiled by young upstart Miley Cyrus, who had plans of her own.

Cyrus, who has twerked her way into the hearts of hoodrats everywhere, hit the stage twerking in a teeny, tiny vinyl bikini. Cyrus's controversial booty poppin' shocked veteran actor Will Smith who brought along his two children. After the slutty performance, comedian Kevin Hart quipped, "Miley better get a pregnancy test after all that twerkin'."

La La seen leaving Good Morning America

Reality TV star La La Anthony was spotted arriving at the studio where ABC's 'Good Morning America' is taped in NYC on Wednesday. In an exclusive interview with Latin Times, La La said a woman's insecurity can lead to bad makeup choices. "You don't have to go overboard. Simple eyeliner, lip gloss and blush can go a long way," she said helpfully. On her exclusive deal as Caress Body Wash spokeswoman, La La said: "I'm so honored to be even looked at as a 'fabulista,' and to be using fragrances to inspire women. I specifically love Caress' 'Tempting Whisper' and what's great about it is that it's light, it smells good and it's a great scent. Anything I put my name behind, I really, truly believe in, and this is a product that I use, that I love and I'm always the kind of person that likes to share my beauty secrets with the people and this is definitely one of them."

Jay Z interacted with his fans via a question and answer session on his official Twitter account yesterday to promote his new album, Magna Carta Holy Grail. On the track, Jay Z raps: “They see I’m still putting work in / Cause somewhere in America / Miley Cyrus is still twerkin’.” The fan, who obviously has no clue about hip hop metaphors, asked Jigga, "You really think Miley Cyrus still twerking somewhere in America?"

Tyler the Creator and Pharrell Williams like singer Miley Cyrus so much they wanted to take a picture with her. Pharrell tweeted this pic on Twitter.com Tuesday night.

The big story in entertainment news today is teen actress Miley Cyrus has quit Twittering.

The Hannah Montana star quit Twitter today because her new boyfriend asked her to. Miley left a final tweet saying, “FYI Liam doesn’t have a twitter and he wants ME to delete mine with good reason,” then she deleted her account leaving her 2 million followers in a panic.

It seems the 16-year-old has discovered what a lot of other people already know: that Twitter is literally for the birds. As a wise woman recently pointed out: most celebrities have poor impulse control. They often end up posting a damaging tweet leaving their publicists to cover their asses by lying and claiming the Twitter account isn't theirs.

There is no really good reason for established celebrities to have a twitter account other than to see how many "followers" they can gain. For that reason, Twitter is a narcissist's playground. For the insecure celebs with low self esteem, it provides a forum to exercise their false superiority over others.

There's really no surprise that the three biggest narcissists in the industry: Oprah Winfrey, Sean Combs and Ashton Kutcher, have millions of followers yet, only follow a few hundred back -- if that many.

The other end of the spectrum are the non-celebrities who sit up on Twitter day and night hoping celebrities will respond to their tweets. Or the Twitter addicts who tweet randomly about every mundane aspect of their lives in the hopes that some other sad Twitter addict with no life will follow them.
