As predicted, the 2018 Grammy Awards telecast was the lowest viewed in Grammy history. The 2018 Grammy Awards billed itself as the first-ever all rap and hip-hop telecast which aired live Sunday on CBS.

Nielsen TV ratings plunged overnight for Fox TV's dreadful soap opera Empire.

Wednesday's episode drew just 8.2 million viewers. That's down 8 million viewers since Empire's season 2 premiere.

Following the 9/23 second season premiere (which was itself down from hour two of the season one finale), each “Empire” episode has suffered a week-over-week decline in the overnight households (and in adults 18-49 and total viewership). The declines have not, however, come close to eradicating the series’ standing as Wednesday’s top broadcast show. Source

I still don't get the hype surrounding the hip hop soap opera Empire on Fox TV. Sure the season finale finished with a respectable viewership of 17 million, but so what? The Cosby Show and A Different World pulled in triple the viewers of Empire on any given week. I don't recall the fervor surrounding those TV ratings.

Is it because Empire is a part of Hollywood's gay agenda TV shows? The Walking Dead has higher TV ratings than Empire. Do we discussed that show's ratings every week? Somebody clue me in.
