Video: Janet Jackson Jumps the Shark with ‘Sweet 16’ Spoof

If an individual can jump the shark, Janet Jackson does it in this video spoof of a child’s Sweet 16 party. I have no words for this video. The old Janet Jackson never would have lowered herself to this level for publicity. But she does have a Cd to push. The good news is MTV has apparently lifted the unspoken ban against Janet. The network named Janet artist of the week starting February 25th. Good for her!

I thought it was funny. I even remember a lil girl on sweet 16 nutting up when she was given her car early. Started cursing and everything. At the dealership.lol. I admit I was a bit on the spoiled side, but if I showed out in front of company (ie out in public) there wasn’t no coming back. I thought it was funny too and I think it’s low to say she “stooped” by doing it.
In 20+ years I don’t ever recall Janet saying she’s “above” spoofs or anything. Hello ??? Did we not see her in The Nutty Professor 2 getting serenaded with a “beef in your taco” song ?
She’s a regular person, she’s allowed to have fun whether to promote a cd or just for kicks, stop being so closed-minded.
