Rapper 50 Cent was honored yesterday at the opening of his Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson Community Garden on November 3, 2008 in the Jamaica neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York City. Legendary actress and singer Bette Midler (“Beaches”), left, joined him at the ceremony, but we’re not sure why. Anyway, congrats to Fiddy!

Bette Midler is known in NY for helping to build community gardens. She is also an advocate of cleaning up neighborhoods. I think that she has been doing this since the 80’s. They were talking about her passion for this on the View last week. Didn’t mention 50 though..
