Plaxico Burress: a Fool and His Money Are Easily Parted

Things are not going well for poor Plaxico Burress. First he shoots himself in the leg with a gun he wasn’t licensed to carry in NY.

Then his teammate Pierce turns on him and offers to spill his guts to the grand jury.

The doctor who treated his gunshot wound at NY/Cornell hospital was suspended for not reporting the injury as required by law.

And now the NY Giants have suspended Plax with no pay.

Anyway, Greta Van Susteran just posted this pic of Plaxico’s New Jersey crib which will probably go on the market next week since Plax can no longer rely on his $35 million dollar contract to pay the bills.

Plax has a wife and a kid to support, but he wasn’t thinking of them when he broke the law.

Dumb ass.

yes he was STUPID! however this is not his 1st,2nd or 3rd contract I believe so why do we immedately jump to that hes broke! i doubt he was depending on one contract to pay for this house! these people have financial advisors and ive never heard anything about him being stupid with his money.

Yes he is very stupid. When will these black entertainers and athletes learn to stop doing stupid stuff. That new NFL commissioner does not play, and he will probably make sure he does not ever play on a nfl team again.

Well I hope that he has taken better care of his money than to be so broke that a 4 game suspension would cause him to lose his home. That is a very small fraction of his salary that he is forfieting.

How do we know his home is in danger? He just signed the $35 million dollar contract about 6 weeks ago but he’s no rookie, lets remember he’s had other multi-million dollar contracts b4. His home may be close to being paid off. Do we know how much its worth, how much he’s paid, and how long he’s been in it?

I think its negatively premature to assume that he can’t care for his family. He’s been with the Giants for a few years and before that, he was very successful with the Steelers (w/o much trouble/drama).

Plax made a bad move but we all mess up. I think they’re coming down on him harder just b/c of who he is. Had that been the average Joe, it wouldn’t be so public and he probably wouldn’t be prosecuted.

As for Antonio Pierce, I hear that he hid the gun after Plax was shot so he BETTER tell the truth from now on unless he wants to lose money, too!

Lets not be so quick to wish the worse on Plax…he’s catching it already and we all do wrong at some point. It doesn’t mean that we are terrible people. My prayers to Plax b/c I don’t wish this on anyone; losing your home, money, or being shot!
