m/o: Toya is a sweet woman, trying to make the best out of her situation. She doesnt come from much but she is in a good position to have all she could ever imagine. She may not be “book-smart” as some would say but she def has capitalized in the right way off of her life. Lil Wayne may have been a stepping stone, considering he is a “famous rapper”, but you cant take away that the woman put herself in a position to move forward. I dont think anyone is telling her that she should’ve got a GED before getting married but she definitely should have. From an adult standpoint, you have to be committed to yourself before you can commit to someone else. She should want a GED and a college degree for personal gain and to be a better role model for her child. How can you stress the importance of education to your child when you barely help her with her homework. Kids are a reflection of their surroundings (especially girls).

I have no idea who is surrounding her when it comes to business. we also have no idea if she took advice from Lil Wayne, who seems to be doing really well in the financial department. My way of doing things (yes I have a college degree) and engaged may not be her way. I dont knock her for getting married before a degree (if she doesnt have one) and I wont judge her cuz at the end of the day I dont have a heaven or hell to put Toya Carter Wright in. She is living life for her and hers. She didnt choose her family and Im actually glad she isnt giving up on them. I am willing to bet that half of our great grandparents and even some grand parents never graduated Junior High/middle school but were married in their teens. She took the time to establish herself, open a boutique, write a book, buy a home and have a decent income before becoming a wife. where did she go wrong? Her road may not have been smooth but she got there and is doing pretty well (from what I have knowledge of). Her daughter isnt a Bobbi Kristina or a cracked out Lindsey Lohan. and I dont know nor do you how often she helps her child with homework. You cant make that assumption. I understand what you mean but it doesnt make her right or wrong.

U are correct, a degree is optional but when did a high school diploma or GED become optional? If she wasn’t knocked up by a famous rapper, where would she be without a GED? this older girl kept taking my bus ticket so i had to walk home. i told my dad and he was like “you know what you have to do then”. so i practiced and practiced fighting, lol. i was punching the couch all weekend. finally, i was ready to fight that b****. i was in elementary school and she was in high school. i swear i NEVER saw that girl again. the lord must have been watching out for me. however, i never backed down in a fight after that. my parents did not believe in tattling. my brothers always had to fight and my mom would watch them fight. however, it’s kind of a new day now. too many lil kids have weapons.

Yeah,I can honestly say I didn’t read all the comments just happened to see that one about not having a degree before marriage. This day and age everyone should at least have a HS diploma or GED but sadly some don’t. The guy she married doesn’t seem to have a problem with it though

All of you who are saying that getting an education before marrying someone seriously needs a reality check smh this is the main reason why the marriage rate is so low in the black community because people get married for all the wrong reasons! Taking care of something like that as a mother should’ve been a priority instead of going into a second marriage! If her ex husband wasn’t Lil Wayne and she had a child by a broke ass bum off the streets where would she be without an education? Establishing something like that beforehand imo is looking out for you and your spouse’s best interest! How can you be a devoted wife if you haven’t taken the time to better yourself first? I don’t know for a fact if this girl has a diploma or a GED but if she doesn’t that’s sad, hell even Fantasia went back and got hers, she has plenty of money and has had plenty of time to get that taken care of! Maybe she should take off a few seasons from that ghetto embarrassing azz show of hers and take care of her business first! Regardless of what you all say that is never a good look.
