Chris Brown: Jay Z didn’t threaten to Destroy my career

Jay Z and Chris Brown

Chris Brown’s career is still struggling to rise out of the ashes following domestic assault charges stemming from a conflict with ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.

In a recent interview to promote his upcoming world tour, Brown denied rumors that Jay Z threatened to destroy his career.

Never happened, Brown told Power 106 radio host Big Boy. “People like to take it and run with it, because they have nothing else,” said Brown, 23.

“It was cordial,” Brown said of the meeting between him and Hov backstage at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center in October. “It was real respectful. It was nothing like that. I went to the Center to see the show.”

Brown said he couldn’t speak on the night he chucked a bottle at rapper Drake during a fight over Rihanna.

“Only reason I can’t talk about that is because we’re dealing with some legal stuff,” he said, referring to a lawsuit filed against him and Drake by injured club patrons.
