A nervous Beyonce has increased the security for her show in London on Saturday amid fears of being attacked by a former Stan-turned-stalker.
London’s Daily Mail reports that the 31-year-old mother-of-one met fan Bassey Essien at a function in London in 2009, where he attempted to give her a diary full of religious notes. Since then Essien has mailed numerous letters to Beyonce.
Police can’t keep Essien out of Beyonce’s concert if he has a valid ticket. So Beyonce’s legal team went to a London court to get a restraining order against the young man.
A source told UK’s The Sun, “Staff have been briefed on the situation and pictures of him have been passed round. They’ve been told to keep their eyes open and be extra vigilant.
“Security has been increased on a few engagements now, especially for her UK promo. It is believed similar letters to the ones that Essien sent have been received.”
Security was lax at Bey’s concert in Serbia in April when a fan almost snatched Beyonce bald. Then this past Monday another fan slapped Beyonce’s arse in Copenhagen, Denmark.
