Word out of Lake Placid, NY is that former Olympic hurdler Lolo Jones decked a woman in a bar fight Friday night. Details are sketchy but, according to Deadspin.com, Olympic Bobsled hopefuls Lolo Jones and Aja Evans tag teamed the stepdaughter of Tony Carlino, the former head of the US Bobsled team.
From Deadspin.com:
Our source tells us the altercation took place after 1 a.m. at Roomers Night Club, on the small town’s main drag. While it’s not clear what caused the fight, we’re told that Jones punched the stepdaughter of Tony Carlino, the former head of Team USA who currently runs the track at Lake Placid.
This tweet was sent out early Saturday morning (and has since been deleted):

According to Black Sports Online, the athletes have been told to keep quiet about the fight. The reason: the U.S. Bobsled Federation needs Jones and Evans to qualify for the 2014 Olympics as Bobsled “push athletes” (the teammates who push the Bobsled up to speed before jumping in).
From Deadspin.com:
Our source believes that if this incident involved any other athlete besides Jones, USBSF would have acted already. Our source says that Jones, a known name that brings the sport a ton of press, seems to receive special treatment, and the federation may not want to bring attention to anything that could endanger her Olympic qualification.
Maybe it was the alcohol (or steroids) in Lolo’s system? I hope the video of the fight surfaces online soon.
