Singer Robin Thicke dedicated his current album, Paula, to winning back his estranged wife, Paula Patton. But so far his best efforts have fallen flat with his fans and Patton. According to early sales figures, Paula will move only 25,000 copies in the U.S., and has sold a paltry 530 copies in the UK.
In contrast, Thicke’s fifth album, Blurred Lines, hit #1 on the charts and sold over 731,000 copies last year.
From USA Today:
According to Billboard, the mea culpa album debuted with a mere 25,000 in the USA. Just how bad is 25,000? When Blurred Lines debuted in 2013, the artist won his first No. 1 on Billboard’s album chart with 177,000 in sales. Still, Paula’s weak U.S. debut is 24,470 more than in the U.K., which was a laughable 530, according to The Guardian. That’s not a typo.
