Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson was “deactivated” (read: suspended) after he was indicted for viciously beating his 4-year-son with a switch. Peterson’s weak excuse was that he disciplined his son in the manner which he was raised.
The sad irony is Peterson’s secret Love child was beaten to death in October by his mother’s boyfriend.
Joseph Patterson, 27, was arrested and charged in that case.
Peterson’s child abuse came to light when the boy’s mother noticed fresh injuries on her son’s back, buttocks, legs and scrotum after Peterson returned him from a court-ordered visitation.
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has been indicted in Texas on a charge of injury to a child, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Friday.
A statement from Sheriff Tommy Gage said a grand jury “true billed” Peterson on Thursday, and the arrest warrant was issued at 2:47 p.m. CT on Friday.
The Vikings announced Friday evening that Peterson will not play Sunday when Minnesota hosts the New England Patriots.
Peterson is the 2nd NFL star to be suspended this week for domestic abuse.
Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice was cut by the team on Monday and the NFL suspended him indefinitely after gossip tabloid TMZ released video showing him knocking out his wife in a casino elevator.
As in the case of Ray Rice where there is video evidence, there is graphic photo evidence of Peterson’s child abuse.
Women and children are easy targets of grown men who were raised in violent homes. Until we as a people stop assaulting our own children, the cycle of domestic violence will continue.

Peterson has issued a statement through his lawyer saying, “The charged conduct involves using a switch to spank his son.”
“This indictment follows Adrian’s full cooperation with authorities who have been looking into this matter. Adrian is a loving father who used his judgement as a parent to discipline his son.”
“He used the same kind of discipline with his child that he experienced as a child growing up in East Texas. Adrian has never hidden from what happened.”
“He has cooperated fully with authorities and voluntarily testified before the grand jury for several hours.”
“Adrian will address the charges with the same respect and responsiveness he has brought to this inquiry from its beginning. It is important to remember that Adrian never intended to harm his son and deeply regrets the unintentional injury.”

I think their is more than one way to skin a cat. My seven year old will write 100x i will be/I will not, etc. burpees, stairs, loss of bed time. Whatever works. I didn’t say don’t spank, but switches shouldn’t be part of the equation. We have too many tools our parents didn’t to go that route.
This is not right. I’m so bothered by the justifications but no matter what you say it will never be right to beat your kids. Why do we beat our children? Do you ever stop and ask? Why? Because they beat us. They beat us and now we’ve made it right to do it to the babies we love. I don’t do it to mine and they’re better for it.
So we gonna throw him in jail so he can’t take care of none of his kids? I hope if found guilty there is some diversionary program for him

4:12 PM PT — According to the police report, Peterson allegedly sent text messages to the child’s mother saying he “felt bad” because he struck the kid in the testicles.
“Got him in the nuts once I noticed. But I felt so bad, n I’m all tearing that butt up when needed!” the text said.
Peterson allegedly sent a follow up text saying, “Never do I go overboard! But all my kids will know, hey daddy has he biggest heart but don’t play no games when it comes to acting right.”
4:10 PM PT — According to the police report, the child told authorities he had also been hit by a belt and there were “a lot of belts in daddy’s closet.”
The child also said AP had put leaves in his mouth when he was being struck and that his pants were down.

George Zimmerman is in legal trouble again.
WSVN reports that his latest brush with the law came on Tuesday when Zimmerman allegedly threatened to kill a man during a road rage incident in Lake Mary, Florida.
The man, whose name has not been reported, also told police Zimmerman was waiting for him at his work.
Zimmerman allegedly admitted to police that he had an altercation with the man, but he won’t face legal action because the man has declined to press charges.
That’s exactly how Zimmerman escaped his last two legal battles.

Yesterday almost all the reports said it was his 11 yr old son. Schefter on ESPN said it was his 4 yr old.

Those marks are excessive.
When lil al was 5 or 6 I whipped him pretty badly he was at school asking strangers adults for money and snacks. When we got home I beat his butt. Once I stopped I broke down one because If one of those folks wanted to they could have taken him. Two I left marks. The folks got involved but nothing happened. I never have to whoop him now. I never wanted to whoop my children because I was abused by my dad but I learned how to discipline them with and without whipping. Maybe AP went too far maybe the fear of losing his kid will help him look at it a lil different.
so one of his kids is already dead from being beaten to death and another one may be scarred physically and mentally for life.
