This story will bring tears to your eyes.
For the 8th straight year, NFL star Andre Johnson spent thousands of dollars of his own money on toys and video games for at-risk kids in protective services.
And as he always does every year, the 33-year-old Houston Texans wide receiver took pictures with the loooong receipts.
Deadspin.com reports Johnson spent a grand total of $16,266.26.
From the Houston Chronicle via Deadspin.com:
Empty shopping carts were lined up. The countdown began. Then Johnson briefly paused the rush.
Don’t worry about video-game systems, he said. If you want one, you’ll get one, and a couple games. They’re behind locked doors. Focus on what you really want and you’ll get a free system when your carts are loaded.
They were off. For 80 seconds, children ages 8-16 from the Harris County Department of Family Protective Services tore through open aisles, pulled once-unthinkable items off shelves and kept racing in dreamland.
