Woman robbed, shot in face by man she met online

College Park police are on the hunt for a man who shot a woman in the face, robbed her and fled in her car.

WSB-TV’s Justin Farmer reports the woman met a man named “Cash” on a dating website called Badoo.com.

The woman agreed to meet “Cash” offline at a Waffle House in College Park on Dec. 24, CBS46.com reports. After leaving the Waffle House, the man ordered the 34-year-old woman to pull over on their way to a hotel at 12:45 a.m.

Even though she did as she was instructed, the man robbed the victim of her purse and cell phone and shot her in the face before fleeing in her black 1999 Jeep Cherookee with Rhode Island tag 325569.

The unidentified woman is recovering at home with a swollen face.

“The bullet went through her cheek, out behind her ear and grazed her neck,” CBS46 reports.

Police say Cash is wanted for aggravated assault, robbery and carjacking.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.

Met someone online several years ago and of course he was less muscular in person than online. He ended up being a pretty terrible person too. Never did that again.

Speaking of which, my 19 yr old niece is going out of state to visit family and this guy she met on Instagram a month ago who lives in that state wants to officially meet her in person. It’s like a 3 hour drive for him. She’s staying in a hotel because the family members there aren’t the ones you want to stay with unless you want to be involved in some illegal ish but I have some concerns. If he drives that far I’m sure he’s going to be trying to stay or and knowing her inability to think things through, I’m sure she will say yes. Hoping he’s not some weirdo or murderer. I’ve said my peace and will be getting any info I can from her about him. She video chats with him so I know what he looks and sounds like.

I prefer to meet someone through friends, at church, at an event or while out shopping. This online crap seems lazy and desperate. Fix yourself up, get out of the house, and meet people the old fashioned way. Its no guarantee you won’t run into “crazy” but you have better odds of being safe. If you decide to online date, don’t put someone you don’t know in your car. Make your first date a double date. If that’s not an option, meet him/her in a very public place and don’t go home immediately after the date.
