Tiffany Monique Riddick

Pop singer Beyonce’s fans is catching heat for using her ailing backup singer for some cheap publicity. Bey, 33, posted a social media message of support for her backup singer — Tiffany Monique Riddick, who is battling esophageal cancer.

“We love you Tiffany. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Love, Beyonce,” the singer wrote on her website, in the caption of a beautiful B&W portrait of Tiffany

Tiffany responded, “Love you Bosslady!” in a post on her Facebook page.

But fans were suspicious of Beyonce’s motive for giving Riddick a public shout out.

“beyonce, how about giving your friend more than a shout-out, is it? How about paying for her treatment, you rich lady???” wrote Yahoo.com reader Tom.

“this is a stunt for her own publicity …….whey did she have to make this public?” wrote Yahoo reader Troy.

Tiffany began singing background for Beyonce in 2007. She told The New Jersey Monthly that she quit her job when the “Single Ladies” singer made her one of “the mama’s” — Bey’s nickname for her trio of pleasantly plump backup singers.

Tiffany has also sung backup vocals for Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Anita Baker, Stevie Wonder and Kenny Loggins.

When she’s physically able, Tiffany gives her Facebook friends regular updates on her condition. In a post on Monday, March 9, Tiffany wrote that she was in “quite a bit of pain.”

“Fevers, a-fib, no food or water since last Tuesday, quite a bit of pain and a lot of fatigue today,” she wrote. “I’m finally ‘comfortable’ so I’m gonna get some sleep while the going is good.”

Beyonce’s tour photographer, Yosra El-Essawy, died of stage 4 inoperable esophageal cancer at age 33 last year.
