Apparently, NFL quarterback Russell Wilson and singer Ciara are still an item, despite rumors to the contrary.
Yesterday, word spread like wildfire that Wilson dropped the needy singer after dating just one month. But Ciara shut down the rumors by posting a new Instagram photo of herself and “bae” together.
It seems Wilson is still under the influence of Dopamine, the brain neurotransmitter that’s associated with the pleasure center of our brains.
As you know, Dopamine is the chemical that initially attracts humans to each other like magnets.
When people say they have “good chemistry” together; they are referring to Dopamine.
When people say it was Love at first sight; they are referring to Dopamine.
The powerful lure of Dopamine is very difficult to resist — and for good reason. Without Dopamine men would not be sexually interested in women and the human species would cease to exist.
Inevitably, the Dopamine fades. When that happens, either one or both partners lose interest, or both partners realize they really do Love and respect each other, and their relationship/marriage lasts a lifetime.
But that’s very rare. You probably only know one or two couples who have been together for 10 years or longer.
In Wilson’s case, it’s just a matter of time before the Dopamine fades, or Ciara begins pressuring him to put a ring on it.
