Memphis Police ID Suspect in Officer’s Shooting Death

Wilbourn and Bolton

Memphis police have identified a suspect in the death of Officer Sean Bolton, 33, who was shot while conducting a traffic stop on Saturday.

An arrest warrant was issued for Tremaine Wilbourn, 29, who allegedly “shot the officer multiple times.”

Authorities say Bolton spotted an illegally parked 2002 Mercedes-Benz and approached the vehicle.

A “brief struggle” ensued and Wilbourn allegedly shot Bolton. Wilbourn and the car’s driver then fled the scene.

As a massive manhunt got underway for the 2 suspects, the driver turned himself in to police.

The driver was later released.

A $10,000 reward is being offered by the U.S. Marshals Service for information leading to the arrest of Wilbourn.
