Acne Studios Confirms its ‘Ideal Woman’ is a 12-Year-Old Boy

Acne Studios has confirmed rumors that the model who embodies the “ideal woman” is in fact a 12-year-old boy.

Frasse Johansson is the petite model seen teetering on high heels while wearing a $1,200 coat and $400 shades in Acne’s forthcoming campaign.

Yahoo Style’s senior editor Leeann Duggar thinks Acne went too far:

Today, we see proof of the old saw that, for fashion designers, the ideal woman’s body is, in fact, that of a pre-pubescent boy. WWD announced that the forthcoming fall campaign by fashion-forward Swedish brand Acne Studios will star Frasse Johansson, who is a 12-year-old boy.

Who is modeling very expensive clothes meant for adult women.

I’m not sure how I feel about this.

Based on the photo, there is nothing overtly sexual or woefully inappropriate about the visual, unless you believe in the strict adherence to gender roles.

The world of fashion, like art, is about pushing boundaries. Maybe this ad was a deliberate and calculated move to get people talking about this brand, which apparently worked.

In my opinion, a purse and high heels aren’t the worse things a little boy could wear and just because he’s playing dress up in expensive women’s clothes, doesn’t mean it’s going to turn him gay.

However… as a father, I would never allow my child to participate in anything that might be deemed controversial or potentially harmful to his or her psychological well-being.

A parent’s job is to provide a sense of stability and normalcy for their children.

Anita Baker is a brilliant singer, but she said when she started singing in clubs, some people wouldn’t pay attention while she was performing. So, to hold her audience’s attention, she started rocking and twirling her skirt.

Maybe that boy’s father put him in high heels and women’s clothes to get our attention. Maybe his son is into wearing female clothing and his father decided to include him in his ads.

Personally, I would never do that to my child. I wouldn’t encourage my child to do something that might subject him or her to ridicule.
