We live in a society where male and female roles are defined by gender stereotypes.

Some homosexuals (not all) choose to self identity by adopting the gender stereotypes (behavior, style of dress and attitude) of the opposite sex.

Women who choose to dress and behave like men are referred to as studs.

Loyal reader Dee Perry learned the hard way that gender misappropriation often leads to charges of gender discrimination when studs object to being treated like men.

This section gives a voice to those in the industry who feel they have been wronged by certain industry execs, celebrities or companies.

Dee Perry writes:

Subject: Continuous discrimination against LGBT community, specifically referring to (studs).

Establishment: Boogalou Restaurant & Bar Atlanta, GA

Please bring awareness to the fact of continuous and blatant discrimination against gay females (studs in particular) by Boogalou male security staff.

Date: Sept 26, 2015
Time: 11:30pm

Experience: Horrible – I won’t go as far as saying the entire establishment discriminates against the LGBT community.

However, Boogalou’s security and money taker at the door, are definitely bias in their views of gay females (studs in particular).
I was excited to go to Boogalou, as this would have been my first time. I had heard good reviews about the bar/lounge.

A friend of mines was in town, and I wanted to show her a good time. We stood in line for 20 min, which was not a bother to us.

When it was our turn to enter the bar, we were not physically searched as the males. So here’s the first clue, that the security recognized that I was a female.

He checked my friend’s purse and advised her to take her selfie stick to the car. Which she politely preceded to do while I awaited her return at the door.

The security guard pointed to a guy at the door to pay $20/person to get in. I paid the 40$ and preceded inside, awaiting my friends return.

There were two ladies behind us in the line, and once they were inside, they saw me and said “Don’t let them disrespect you, ladies are free all night.

Since this was my first time here, I was unaware that females are free ALL NIGHT.
So I went back outside and promptly asked for my money back, and the Boogalou employee looked at me and gave me one 20$ back.

So I looked at him and said, am I not a female, where’s my other 20$. He states, you don’t have on heels or sandals, so you have to pay.

This was the most ignorant statement he could have made at this point.

I’m not sure what type of establishment Kasey Mozee/KMO Global Entertainment is running, but this is not business like or business friendly by any means.

If Boogalou Restaurant & Lounge is not LGBT friendly, then they need to make that known.
As far as reading the reviews on their establishment, I am not the only one this has happened too.

Shoes alone does not define a woman. There is no advisement on their website that states if you are not wearing heels or sandals, you are not considered a woman.

Also, whoever runs their social media account (Instagram) , erases any comments that are not in good review of Boogalous.
